I just recently joined a Hunter: The Vigil game, it's my first ever tabletop roleplay and I'm enjoying the hell out of it :D this trailer really has the feel of Hunter. Good job!

I liked it and White Wolf liked it because someone said this video won? Some people need to get less ignorant and realize a lot of hunters actually do look like the guy with the sword. First off swords seem to hurt a lot of things very well in WoD. I know Vampires can be killed a lot more easily by blades than guns. Secondly a lot of hunters aren't exactly rich kids. They can't afford really nice duds and they tend to get sort of macho attitudes after a while. He looks just fine.
No one is saying that swords are or arent more effective. The kid is walking around in the city with no shirt, a head band, ad a bastard sword on his shoulders. Rich or not rich I dont know who would go hunt vampires like that. The accent didnt bother me.
Just for clarification, White Wolf picked this video to be in the finals. The fans of White Wolf who had a Livejournal account voted for their favorite.
These guys made a great trailer, and they have been getting too much heat about the sword issue. None of us had any budget or time to really work with it, and we each did the best we could with resources we had.
Neverworks has appreciated all comments given for our video, though the faults were unavoidable due to time, money, and volunteers.
There are no faults, dont you get it? Swords work very well on a lot of the WoD creatures. If your a Vampire hunter they work great as they hurt Vampires a lot more than guns do. Bullets do bashing, Bladed weapons do lethal. If something does lethal it kills you much quicker. FISTS do bashing so you can see how effective guns are vs a Vampire.
Agreed. But vampires are (IMO) only a tiny bit of what our beloved hunters have to go up against. I like the idea of them fighting stranger things than vampires and werwolves.

I get the idea they're lowering the amount of supernatural-ness on nWoD hunters. Instead of powers they get some conspiracy-specific merits (from what I've read in the spoilers and forums)
For instance, Malleus Maleficarum get exorcisms and prayers and stuff, while VALKYRIE have high-tech goodies, Lucifuge get some infernal powers and Cheiron have supernatural implants. That replaces otherworldy powers mostly in nWoD. (Not every hunter has flashy stuff, but there are some ones who still do.)

Now that The game has come out, I actuly think the game has a much different them from what the Trailers have done. There still awsome (dunno which one im gonna vote for) just I dunno....I feel there is a very different tone in the Game to the Trailers.
I've only read the conspiracy and compact spoilers this far... but I guess I'll have to rely on your opinion 'til I get my copy of Vigil.
It would have been nice to actually read the book before trying to portray the feeling of the new game. Don't know which one to vote for? How about number three? The guy in the glasses is very handsome...
Best use of scenery of the 4. I also liked the dialogue. Only criticism is that there might be too little light in the darkness. But it did the mood justice, it just would be great to see a little more clearly in most of the shots. Some very dramatic angles and pacing though
What particularly impressed me on this one was the way you used the multiple actors to show the various sides of the Vigil in such a short amount of time (something like a minute thirty, right?)
The guy with the headband and the open jacket is a little... early 90's punk Ryu, though.
I feel we still have marvelous competition. There's this one trailer I'm afraid to go up against... the one with the undead hand?
We wanted our trailer to show how there are different approaches to the hunt, not just one big thing... Altough, in the end, there is this one big thing that unites them, as different as they are.

I feel that there wasn't enough light on the subjects. For night shots consider having a large contrast in light rather than having the screen be dark. other than that, a good trailer.
Sure! If you see movies set at night time, the background is very dark yet the subject is still lit, while during the day both the background and subject are lit about the same. So to make it appear to be night, have the background dark and put a light on your subject. If you want it to look like moonlight, have a blue tinted light on them, or sometimes a red or orange light looks like a streetlight or overhead light. Also, if you put a light on your subject you can get some cool looking shadows
