I live in Echuca Vic edge of Murray We are on stage 4 water restriction (No water to be used outside. Used sparingly inside. Check Hume resevoir if you think farmers are taking all your water. Your lakes Evaporate 1000 GL every year. Woodayau Says lakes were never salt water. OK SO OPEN THE BARRAGES what are they there for if its not to keep sea water out. Of coarse the lakes go salty with 1,000 GL of evaporation each year . Fool
The lower lakes have NEVER been salt water. Salt water entered due to high irrigation allocation in NSW and Vic starting in the 1800's followed by periods of drought. Up til this time 2 gigalitres of freshwater flowed out EVERY DAY and had for 000's of years. please check facts.
