The Greek modes still exist in Western Music. Particularly explored deeply in 20th Century Music. Debussy is known for his playing with different scales and or modes. The Greek modes lived in the church "back in the day" and were used as a range or ambitus for Plainchant and Secular Monophony. This is to clarify that there ARE still uses of the Greek modes in Western Music, maybe not popular music, but still none-the-less. (This comment is brought to you by a music nerd. Thank you.)
I think what happens where the cut is is that's the spot where Bobby does the pentatonic experiment, as near as I can tell. It seems perfectly relevant to that moment, and I don't see the pentatonic experiment in any of the 10 clips....so I think that's the missing link.
SO. EFFING. BRILLIANT! Such an important statement that needs a lot of unpacking, but unfortunately, like someone else noted, this was edited poorly (and I doubt they really got at it in depth here anyway:\).
@ 4:39 it goes back to a previous version (Part 5)
