While I certainly would've preferred a strong public option, this current healthcare bill is a major step forward for our great country. A lot of parents will borrow money to cure their ill kids even it will put them into debt! but when the government wants to take care of its people, Republicans are talking about debts and saying Healthcare reform is too expensive. Yeah, went to Iraq saved our government a lot of money?! Tax cuts for the wealthies saved us lots of money?! Republicans are so hypocratical. In the USA many don't have health insurance, and many of those who do, struggle to actually get those self-enriching insurance companies to pay out, prove it wasn't pre-existing condition, or the MUCH MUCH higher premiums with even higher deductibles, plus be limited to health care providers that accept your insurance. Lose job, get sick, lose everything!!! Here none of that crap!

@angieskidney I had Hernia surgery last year and I applied for a new insurance plan this Jan and I was approved! Without the heathcare reform, I would have been declined because of the hernia surgery which was concerned as pre-existing condition. Thank you, Obama!

At one time, I believed the government should provide health care because they take so much of our money and basically use us. Do you remember a day when you needed a work history at a job for 5 years and a good credit rating and a 15% down payment? I do remember those days of sacrifice. While I certainly would've preferred a strong public option, this current healthcare bill is a major step forward for our great country. President Obama deserves an unbelievable amount of credit for staying focused and rising above all of those who tried so hard to harm this acheivement. So thank you President Obama. The positive polling the bill is now getting several months later is proof that good triumphs over bad.

What about a hard-working middle class couple in Illinois who've earned a living working hard and paying taxes–the day comes around when either or both fall ill and can't afford the medical bills.
