You cant call that viabe result, based on 2 tests espetialy if difference between tests for individual adapters were higher than between the adapters themselve meaning network was unstable, either your PC or test server. You test resuls are really useless. Maybe if you did like 100 of them in lets say series of 10 alternating adapters than you could make some assumptions.
@BoxeoP4P I saw few other tesst and in al of them Killer was loosing so i believe you may be right. Just saying that presented tests cannot be base for such claim. I agree 100 test are quite a lot, but to make statement you need to test more, but what is clear is Killer NIC is not super gamechanging adapter that will boost your network and allow you to own in online games. So work on your refexes folks, Money wont buy you super reaction time :)
@Thorinbur your missing the point of the killer net 2100 the card is not about getting the faster internet connection. is about maintaining the speed and making the game code lighter and faster to transfer and sync with other player faster while giving you priority in the network let say someone else got connected to your network the onboard connection will divide the 20megabit living you 10megabits then your game will start freezing, with the killer net you will have 20m always.
This card have one very original and argument in the background for convince some people, OS on board and more shitty but is a complete SCAM, I had three different models and all are the same crap, trust me Im an online player and I have better ping with the on board build network card.
Got one of those, did not work at all, software comes filled with advertising that will pop up windows in your PC asking you to buy something else if you want it to wrk, Pure bullshit!!!
Had a bunch of error messages from the software, called their tech support, guy simply told me...bad board, sent back to amazion.com for replacement, second board come in "DEAD" nothing work......I am sending this back for a refund now. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CRAP!!!
Could it be that the Killer nic is limiting the "internet" for your browser since its not a game? Maybe that's how it works, limiting the access of non games on your bandwidth allowing your game to access more? I'm just a noob theorizing, but that's the only logical thing I can think of, since there is no way it can magically produce more bandwidth.
Just FYI, my comparison between integrated NIC (Realtek) and my new Intel Gigabit CT adapter (PCIe) shows a large difference in terms of speed. The Intel NIC averaged 55 mb/s and the Realtek was about 33 mb/s, both had comparable pings at 25.
This video seems to show a fundamental misunderstanding of what the card is supposed to do. Slowing down your browser is what it is -supposed- to do so that the remaining bandwidth can be used for games. Depending on the priority given to the browser it will run the same or -slower- with the NPU. It's design dictates that if you were to have your browser downloading something and playing a game at the same time, the Download would take longer so as not to interrupt your gaming experience.
@Gemanite55 yes, benefits of this card is prioritizing of network streams, and make high priority for game conections. But stop, maybe some people forgot about standard QOS(Quality Of Service) technology, available on every middle - end prize sector of router devices. QOS make same think, that make this "pro" NPU. So question, why i should pay for nothing?
@ownTer Yes and no, its a matter of opinion. This is how I will break it down for you....You can get an Intel Pro 1000 CT NIC for ~$30 and this killer nic 2100 ~$70+. The intel NIC will perform very similar to the killer nic 2100. It's up to you to decide if the extra $40 is worth the cool looks of the killer nic, the bandwidth limiting software as well as the game prioritizing. If you are not on a budget I see no problem getting the killer nic 2100, lol. Hope that helps.
@xxxmodelvideos hey model, im not really suggesting it. I try to just give them the facts and let them decide for themselves if they want it or not. Hopefully my videos will help them out too. One thing it wouldn't or shouldn't do, is slow down gaming performance vs. onboard but I haven't had time to test it. It's not a "horrible" product and I think it slows down other aspects because it prioritizes gaming over anything else. In general any dedicated NIC should be better than onboard realtek =)
Well Killer is optimized for UDP and the tests in the video all are based on TCP so i do not think that this NIC is the money worth. A single GigaBit NIC from Intel will do the job!!! ;)
Huh! Well first of all.. This card is not meant to increase load rates, it is meant to lower the latency! Take the latency test instead.. Also, the card only place games as first priority, so other applications don't steal and cause higher latency.. Also this Killer 2100, will remove the network/CPU latency.. But to get the best gaming performance, I bet you have to disable the onboard Network chip!
@sdtbigfoot Ya well, tell your boss I want my money back, cuz my Killer1 doesnt make any difference at all. Ive actually gotten lower pings and less lag with my onboard. Waste of damn money.
yea i heard that this is not to improve your download upload but to stable ur connection just fro gaming which idk i would say is worth it but npu's look like something that are going to rise up just like sound card processors and stuff and nice video btw
@Googlecow456 thanks google, yeah the primary focus for this NPU is gaming, which is what most people buying this will care about. Not to say that the other performance stats don't matter , which it will to some people. Still haven't got around to doing my last test :P. Their included software really helps when you are downloading or uploadings and want to do other internet based tasks (simply browsing will lag if you are downloading or uploadings, typically) But you can prevent that with this!
@sdtbigfoot thanks for your input sdt. Yup I realise its a gaming network card and I will be testing this killer 2100 (in what most people care about when they get this card) and thats in game performance. I just have'nt gotten around to doing that yet. Thanks and great product you guys got, es.p the software!
@PKKamba To be honest, I do not a "feel" any difference between the Killer 2100 and my onboard. I will be doing 2 more tests. I've completed network trasnfers test and waiting to do gaming test (Got a final coming up soon though)

@Thorinbur If it helps, I did the test multiple times off camera. 100 times though? nope didn't do close to that many tests. Same results.

I'm not sure... but I think normal web based apps perform normally because they don't bypass the windows interface unlike games...
mediarocker543 2 months ago
The onboard speed test isn't really different, it could be that the load on the test server was lower and thats why you had higer speeds.
The best way to test this network card is to do a local speed test with a network bench marking utility

Don't forget its a game network card.. so it reserve a part of the brandwidth for games.
You can set up your network card settup in the registry.
