  • I was a massive fan of Marillion in the days when Fish took front stage, Misplaced Childhood and Clutching at Straws were two beautifully crafted classics. I never even gave Steve Hogarth a chance and refused to listen to the new Marillion but after all these years I am blown away. A different band for sure but it's in a different place now and I cannot fault Hogath's voice, reminds me of Collective Soul (another fine band). So yeah, both periods are as good as each other

  • I believe Steve Rothery was the one who thought to change the vocals from just sounds to "Pain and Heaven"

  • Powerful

  • Hogarth rules. He helped take Marillion from being a band that sounded a little like Pink Floyd and Genesis to being a band that nobody else sounds like. Thanks to Hogarth, Marillion is unique.

  • awesome! fish cant sing anywhere like him

  • I cannot believe, or tolerate, how badly Hogarth derailed this fucking band. They were PERFECTLY poised to carry on Pink Floyd and Genesis. And they get this retard as a singer, and turn into a fucking U2 copy act.

  • @dufortrph Ever listened to anything from the Hogarth-era besides "Cover My Eyes"?

  • @PhilRamone I've listened to most, if not all, of it. I just really don't like anything from that era.

  • grande steve desde chile saludos

  • I can watch this video over and over again.... and not get enough of it!

  • Once again, Marillion proves its awesome ability to both compose and perform. What energy, passion, and entertainment!!!! What a great song!

  • @JRBL1A1 Couldn't agree more!

  • Amazing performance! One of my favourite songs, along with Fantastic place and Don't hurt yourself =)

    Marillion for ever

  • Love this song!

  • This is from the Marbles On The Road DVD that was released in 2005, a must have for any Marillion fan. This is by far the best live version of Cover My Eyes that has ever been recorded. Thanks for posting, it's a treat to watch this video.

  • los 2 stives de marillion son sensacionales, pero tambien fish tiene lo suyu muy por ahi jaja

  • This was the song I always listened to while thinking about my first love... 2003 :-(

  • I think they were rushing a little. Awesome song anyway.

  • sexy

  • Simply AMAZING...Steve..his voice and his power...

  • seen MARILLION on tuesday. it was brilliant.

cant wait for the next tour that they do.

  • Steve Rothery kicks serious butt

  • Cudowność sama w sobie!

  • h is such a character on stage =]

    Marillion are just amazing.

  • I FUCKING LOVE MARILLION!!!!!!

  • When a band like Marillion loses its main composer and vocalist, like it happened when Fish left, you gotta stop looking at it like its the same band...

To me the "new" Marillion is a diferent band with a different vocalist, who also does a great job.

If u feel like comparing this band with other bands, you should also take into account stuff like Dream Theater or whatever...

  • Sorry but If you think that Fish was "the main composer" of the classic period, you don´t know NOTHING about Marillion.......

  • OK, who was it then? teach me =P

Algo parecido a Gabriel y Genesis.

Fish,no obstante dijo en una entrevista que el 80% de la música del seasons end y el 90% de las letras del "Vigil" deberían haber la Secuela del CAS. Curiosamente el CAS es el disco favorito de Fish de toda su era.

  • They're the same band, they've just progressed, and tbh, they're just as good as they ever were...Dream Theater do kick ass tho.

  • yes.. it is a smart way to see it.

    There are two different bands:

    - Marillion ( 1978 - 1989) and

    - Marillion ( 1990 - present )

    Anyway, both are awesome!.

  • Silly remarks fish lovers, Seems like a guy cant camp it up and have a good time with his band anymore!

  • kocham ten utwór!! cała moja młodość;) wspaniałe lata... zresztą do dziś, aż łza się w oku kręci..

  • top tune

  • I love Marillion wether it's with Fish or Steve.

    great job,

    thanks for posting

  • Fuck fish H RULEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

    Fucking deal with it!!!

  • Awesome... as usual :)

  • My God, Rothery has put on weight...

  • He is'nt exactly thinner today, I'm afraid. (This clip is almost 3 years old.)

  • he s a fat F**ker that rothery chaP but i love marillion especially the Fish era, check out fish 's solo work

  • Great song, but wasn't it Dry Land that was originally a How We Live song and not this?

  • Well, Both Are! Excepting the fact that Cover My Eyes has certainly gone under more changes than Dry Land which has been kept almost the same from the previous album.

  • excellent tune. good stage showman too
