  • Good idea for my next mods.

  • what if i have a yellow,red,gray(puple),Blue

  • my usb camera has built in light support xD

  • Comment removed

  • Yippee-do. What the fuck can it be used for?????

  • Or you could just buy a wayy brighter light for $1?

  • clicks on video, see's all supplies needed, STUFF THIS!

  • it's works thanks

  • where is the fucking light?

  • It's just a LED, connected to 5V power bus... And there is 61K views ?!

    O___O

  • I thought he sad the tape was gonna make it pretty?

  • Help! I have usb cable with pink, dark blue, green and white. Green and white are data?

  • now i can make from my broken usb to ligtht! sry my english is bad

  • fail

    i failed

  • I'm only 11 whats a resistor

  • @sis2cool4u just google it, you have almost infinite resources at your fingertips.

  • @sis2cool4u Lmfao what a nooob 11 and 9 subs. Im only tuned 11 one month ago and im almost famous on Utube

  • it deosnt seem very bright....

  • @JOHNNYCOMEKILLU the built in resistor in that LED was probably intended for a 12 volt source, so it's not nearly as bright as it could be. USB only provides 5 volts.

  • @JOHNNYCOMEKILLU if you use a different LED it is a lot brighter, try a white led instead of green too

  • HELLO EVERY BODY.........um hi?

  • like this

  • Hi folks. These are available in the UK for £1 - with 5 LEDs - even less from China. Just thought I'd say, but if you want to play around the idea in the video is great.

  • thanks for the tips bro

  • Nice work, man.I also tried different combinations with USB connector, and find out that in all wires there is a voltage going through. It is probably made like that because it transfer electric signals when it is used to transfer files....but could it be used for some other apps?

  • I see many tutorials that use transistor. Why your tutorial is not using a transistor?

  • @fitrihadidotcom Because the LED I bought have a resistor already applied to it

  • this works with lazers too

  • upgrade the chips firmware on pc .. to make it glow when ever you want to. work see my page for the firmware link + how to do it.

  • Whats the resister? I have some I can use but not sure what to use. Any idea?

  • @flakey94

Use a resistor to reduce voltage!

    majmune hahahahahah

  • @MikiElectronic why wold you want to reduce the voltage ?

  • Comment removed

  • @MikiElectronic Shut THe FUCK UP .... Dont me a smart ASS .... Underground BOY!!!!

  • @MikiElectronic fail

  • my favorite part is 2:42

  • @cage9876 then why did you watch the whole video if you didnt like it

  • just a tip you can also use shrink tubing and itll make it look even neater. cool idea btw thats pretty nifty

  • nice vids man. love your longboard glove and grip tape stuff. keep it up. subscribed.

  • BUT VERYCOOL DUDE

  • how do u just figure this out???!!! ohh... i gat a usv cord, a highliter, a dog, and a spare tire...*25 minuets later* IT`S A ROLLING, FLYING DOG WITH GREEN FUR AND AN MP3 PLAYER!!!LOL

  • would've looked a lot cooler if you used heat shrink tubing instead of electrical tape

  • would've looked a lot cooler if you used heat shrink tubing...

  • if i added a switch too then would it cause any problem ?

  • @G3orge26 Nope that's a great idea!

  • Will this work with an audio cable? such as a headphone jack connected to like a ipad? I know that doesnt make sense but will it?

  • @Su11yDud3 an ipad*

  • You shouldn't melt your solder on the soldering iron, this results in a "cold solder joint". You should heat the wire, until the wire can melt the solder, this will ensure a permanent connection.

  • @goatman069 You are correct but you also need to tin the tip which helps to protect the newly cleaned and exposed tip, and also helps to transfer heat to components.

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 lol, How true.... and don't forget to use resin-core solder. haha.

Ok, so novices can use these methods to help ensure quality solder joints. :<))

  • lol you could tape a stiff wire to the whole wire so u can position it and it doesent move lol just saying

  • u should use heat shrink tube instead of electric tape, its a more snug fitting and it gives a better smooth look

  • what type of resistor i must used

  • Why the hell did I watch this :S

  • where can i get a flexible neck??? so its easier to position?

  • does it use the computer battery

  • @2erasers Yes!

  • i think its ps3 charge cable :D

  • @FEIKKIDUUDSONIT haha I don't own a ps3, but ps3 controller do use standard USB cables!

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 i think ps3 charge cable would be easier cause it doesnt have data transfer capabilities... :D

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 Okay :D :D :D

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 ones that MICROSOFT MADE!!!!!!

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 no they use mini-usb like that for controller chargeing

  • @FEIKKIDUUDSONIT they use them for that yes, but its generally a mini usb

  • @howtodothat123. U need 1 so it doesn't melt the wire. This happens because the resister doesn't let as much heat though To the wire A big part in this video.

Hope this help u. Be sure to check my utube videos out

  • @SuperLyness exactly!

  • why do you need a transistor? I didn't use it and my cable melted :P

  • You should use heat shrink tubes instead of tape - it will look much better

  • @isyrc Very true! Just didn't have them on hand at the time

  • Most likely would need a 100 ohm resistor...

  • how many leds can you put together?

  • Good video man, i liked and subscribed. I got 3 red led's and i want to connect all 3 of them to one usb cable, which is easy enough. But do i have to have a resister to make the the led's work?

  • Can you please pick me for the custom remote that you are giving away

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 to be honnest you would be better off trimming the wires to the L.E.D a lot shorter and then instead of using electrical tape use heat shrink tube to hide the wires as it would look a lot neater

also you should add either a clip or a stand to it or even both

  • Mac Gyver...

  • My pc does not recognize the firmware..

  • great vid. i have a few questions as i know nothing about electronics but want to make a usb powered lapton cooling device with led lights.

    1. can the led's be any voltage?

    2. will a single usb be able to power a single circuit of around 6 led's and a computer fan?

thanks to anyone who can answer

  • will it be able to power two leds

  • hey that usb would fit my phone lol

  • Man you really know your shit xD

  • What voltage led did you use?

  • @usawxman it is a 12V led

  • fantastic - im going to attempt this ill make a video on how it turned out lol

  • Hey You Didnt Do Anything To The Red Wire Right ?

  • @jessy90ify Solder the two Red wires together and two black wires together.

  • great video i have watched all your videos and i think you are doing a great job so keep up the good work and i subscribed.

  • @TheHowToGuy18 Thank man! it's people like you that make me want to make more videos :)

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3

Dude I must really say that i have watched most of your videos and you have inspired me to make all this cool stuff!! i have done my Ps3 controller, X-box controller, LED USB light and a lot more!! Thank you so much for your videos its people like you who make youtube so awesome!!! I subscribed and i have told lots of my friends to check out your channel and videos!

    Cheers

  • @TheAlpineFisher Thanks man I really appreciate it! it's nice people like you that make me want to create more videos :)

  • nice

  • nice wallet

  • yoo, u got ur account back, niceee

  • @SnakeKong Yeah finally haha, stupid youtube disabling my account
