What a great idea! I've just gotten passionate about making paper beads myself. I'm going to host a class at my church's women's retreat, and beadmaking will be a fun project. Your embossing idea just kicked this project up into a whole 'nother level for me! Thanks!
Wow that is cool I am glad that someone can use my crazy ideas. If you have any cool ideas for me to try let me know I am try to make some friends on youtube so that would be great.
Yes, embossing glaze is the way to go. I don't have a heat gun, but I melt the UTEE in a cookie sheet set on the stovetop. i use bamboo skewers to fishe the bead out of the glaze. I like to use wrapping paper (gold and silver) or colorful scrapbook paper to make my beads. I then string my beads along with seed beads on a strand of printer cord to make a lovely necklace. String is cheaper that way. You're doing a wonderful job with your beads!
What a nice video, with daugther trying to help and be there with her mami. :)) Sweet. Sandra, I could not understand the materials you used.. (I am latin)..
I love these paper beads, and I LOVE the interactive family moments ("my daughter just dumped it on the floor"......Shelby saying, "Hi!", ...grand finale at a tilt, etc.) which fully illustrate the compelling creativity of people under less than ideal circumstances. You GO, girl!
LOL I can hear your kid hitting its head on the camera...

Embossing powder is awesome!!! I bought some UTEE from Michaels and it works wonders for my paper beads.
