  • swedish version, so cool, exciting and sexy. Greetings from Serbia

  • I never realised the original Swedish words were so different to the English version.

    1:06 Do phones in Sweden really go "Ding-dong, bing-bong" ?? :D :D

  • Ich liebe ABBA....

  • I love the Swedish version. LOVE YOU FOREVER ABBA!!!!! <3 <3

  • Selv om låta handler om håpløs lengsel, blir jeg i godt humør. Rart.

  • All time favorite..Best version.

  • Om du ring--ring--ringde en endaste gång!

  • jag är svensk ;) haha stolt

  • is they got rid of the twangy guitar this could pass as a modern indie pop song...

  • This is the orginal and this is the best verion....

  • @p3tterxD I agree! Thanks for looking in.

    Peace....Jim

  • @ji61m äru svensk eller?:D:D

  • This swedish version is very nice!

  • it's good to be SWEDISH!!

  • @WineBeerLover Sorry, but Neil Sedaka and Phil Cody did help translate it from Swedish to English!

  • Was this song originally written in Swedish or English?

  • @Ali5Music Ring Ring was originally written in Swedish by Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Stig Anderson. Neil Sedaka and Phil Cody helped translate it to English. Thanks for looking in.

    Peace....Jim

  • @Ali5Music swedish

  • BEAUTIFUL in Swedish too!

  • @Ali5Music can you talk swedish?? ;) i Can, i live in Sweden too, oh it is so beautiful here, the air is so clean and i can se threes everywhere... sorry for bad english, i am 12 years and i am from sweden

  • @nottarna No, I don't know Swedish but can always appreciate a good/beautiful song in a foreign language:).

  • SKÅNE ÄLSKAR ABBA:)

  • I love this version of Ring Ring better than the English version for some reason.

  • @gumbyflowers swedish is ABBA's native language

  • The Swedish version is the best!!!

  • I agree Nathalie, I like the Swedish versions of their popular songs as well, songs like......... " Honey Honey "..." Waterloo "..." Fernando "..." Ring Ring "...and Agnetha's Swedish version of " SOS! " Thank you for stopping by.

Peace from Iowa ( USA )...Jim~

  • @ji61m Totally agree with you. I wish they had more Swedish songs though.

  • @ji61m yeah that would be because you're swedish or speak it? because trust me the songs were WRITTEN in english if you read the bio and they are genial in english as it sounds phonetically better actually..but, matter of taste, obviously they made it in english precisely because they sang in English smart cookies, as did Roxette etc : ? the sad things is these times are long gone and now they are old and bitter recluses in the case of Agnetha but the music rocks although their clothes AY! lol

  • @jstfacts4u Hmm, bitter recluses? Where did you get that from? They all live happy lives.

  • @Svettjodd 1st you ask me WHERE DID I GET IT FROM, (u answered yourself) i got that from the BIOS i read and saw, Agnetha seemed very upset from the times their marriage fell apart, when Bjorn left her with the kids while he went to just be a rockstar in the UK, then he was more interested in the biz than the marriage,so after they divorced he hooked up pretty soon with Lena, & it took her YEARS & YEARS to remarry & when u see her, u see she settled w an ol fart she will never b as happy as w B

  • @jstfacts4u Nonsens. Björn was never trying to be a "rockstar in the UK"... He continued performing, touring, and working with Agnetha after the divorce, and after meeting Lena. He still sees his "kids" on a regular basis and is perfectly friendly with Agnetha Fältskog.

  • @Svettjodd let me ask u a favor: don't bother trying to convince me of the rose colored glasses-story you trying to portray:we know better,i know u're Swedish so maybe English escapes u a little I NEVER SAID the word "TRY" 2 b a rockstar HE WAS a rockstar LEAVE IT ALONE! it's in the HISTORY,BIOGRAPHY BOOKS people close to them WROTE, Bjorn left to be in the UK with his favorite companion in the world at the time, Benny to work on Chess i think it was whatever it was, Agnet had 2 care 4 the kids

  • @jstfacts4u: I don't wear any kind of glasses, although you seem to. Let me ask you a favor, don't bother trying to spread rumours, your own silly conclusions, or plain false information about people that you don't know, at all.

  • @NathalieVicious The Swedish versions of their popular songs are more authentic, as Benny, Bjorn and their manager Stig Anderson (also founder of Polar Studios) originally made the songs in Swedish, while English is used shortly afterwards.

  • @NathalieVicious me to plus fernando and mama mia and a few others

  • @NathalieVicious Was the song originally written in Swedish or English?

  • @Ali5Music It was written in Swedish for the melody festival 1983!

  • @gunnar1954

    Guess you mean 1973...

  • @nyhamnen You are right...

  • @NathalieVicious I think the spanish version is the best or the english one i don't speak swedish.

  • @mieludo i speak swedish and i like it because its their original language as well. i suppose that i feel more connected to the swedish one because that was the original song and they dont have that many swedish songs so its kinda special. and i just think it sounds more beautiful and unique! but yeah each to their own:)

  • Me too =)

  • I lovit this version its better than the english

I'm from Germany ind i sing this verison every on birthay partys

  • ofcourse they can speak swedish? they are from sweden..

  • Of course they can sing in swedish. They are from Sweden!!!

  • Her half-brother. ;)

  • No they are all from Sweden apart from Frida not "their" that impies that something belongs to them.

Don't you have a sense of humour?

  • Not a real good way to start things here by giving me a spelling lesson or trying to be a teacher....

  • idol-anna gör den här bättre :P

    eller inte haha...

  • hey ilive in the usa but my dad is swedish

  • mycket bra! jag älskar abba.... bättre i original språk!

  • thank you

  • Ah yes,I remember it well, the day it arrived..The Swedish version in the mail, long before the convenience of the internet was invented..It took me a couple of more years to find the English re-mix on single, then to find out that there existed a slighty different remix on the U.S.Waterloo LP..What fun,& what a nightmare it was trying to find all those treasures in glorious scratchy vinyl 45's, LP's, tapes & 8track..Still one of my favourite earlier ABBA songs..Ding dong-bing bong..

  • as bra mkt bättre än på svenska

  • Bra min vad!

  • underbart på svenska! mycket bättre än engelska

  • It's nice to be able to hear it and read it in both languages...and I agree, I also like the Swedish language versions.

    Peace...Jim~

  • Shouldn't this wonderful pop song have won in the Swedish song contest (melodifestivalen) in 1973???LOL!!!

  • det lyder bedre på svensk

  • Svenska

  • So much better in Swedish :) Jävla bra!

  • I really like this song, but i also work as a music engineer in my spare time, and this song is clearly pitched up in tempo for the vocals because it sounds synthetic. Strange , because that woulden´t really be necessary because both girls are superb singers. The only reason i could think of why this happened is that Abba´s sound engineer decided to mix this song wide apart from the 70´s standard way, to make a memorable imprint at that time. :-)

  • Abba, the best group ever!! I love them!!! <3

  • Sound's oh so much smoother in swedish!Than in english.

    Sound's oh so right.

    Awesome stuff!!!

  • THAT SONG so beautiful!!, THAT wonders musicians!!!. THE time does not exist.

  • THANKS

  • I ike ths song in English and also in Swedish, after all the melody is the same!

  • I love this song in Swedish.I think is prettier than listening in English.Tack ABBA.

  • this version is very cool also!

  • I gotta visit Sweden!

  • @70Kenny me too

  • FFS ABBA IS FROM SWEDEN, WHY DO U THINK ONE OF THE DADS IN MAMMA MIA - THE MOVIE IS FROM SWEDEN?

    SWEDEN, SWEDEN, SWEDEN ONLY SWEDEN

    xP

  • Det här är den enda abbasången jag kan på svenska x) det är så man skäms tycker jag :P

This is the only abbasong i know in swedish x) i'm almost embarrased

My favouritesong btw... or, i love 'em all

  • im your bigest fan i herd agnetha dose 80 persent of the singing.

  • Actually, the songs were split almost 50/50 between the two ladies. Bjorn and Benny thought that was the fair thing to do, and the girls said that gave them reason to do their very best when singing lead. They always wanted to do their best!

    Peace, Jim~

  • JIm,doyou if there'sa way for me to find ABBAs' Swedish recodings?

Anna's voice sounds at least a half ocative higher in the Swedish Version of Ring Ring

  • id love sweden just cause of abba.most of their songs are better in the swedish version.

  • I to like the Swedish version better. Thanks for looking in!

    Peace, Jim~

  • Ah ABBA, one of the reasons why I love Sweden so much! Someday I'll learn the language! Thanks for the upload!

  • My first time hearing the swiss version...it sounds gd

  • Don't you mean the Swedish version?

  • Thank you very much I also enyoed the Turkish lyrics, hahaha

  • ...and besides for abba we are famous for our cheese and watches here in Switzerland... =)

  • Hang on a minute here. Either I'm insane or I'm missing something. Why say "besides ABBA we're famous for [...] in Switzerland" when ABBA are from Sweden? Please explain.

  • Well... "mandr112" got Switzerland and Sweden mixed up and if you ask any Swede or Swiss person we have all heard it so many times. People can't link the language to the right country or they connect Sweden to cheese and watches and Switzerland to ABBA and elks. I was just playing along with the whole "Swedzerland" confusion =)

  • I am very well aware that ABBA is from Sweden and consequently speaks Swedish... =)

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they speak French, German and Italian in Switzerland? And only Swedish in Sweden?

You know, it's funny, I never thought that Swiss [if it's spoken in Switzerland] and Swedish sounded so alike?

    Now I'm really confused.

  • OMG... yes this is confused in so many ways I don't even know where to start!

Well there are 4 official languages in Switzerland to start with. (One small local language besides what you said) No language is called Swiss though. But I was referring to Schweitzerdeutsch which is the Swiss version of German.

However, nothing is similar between Switzerland and Sweden besides the names of the countries. And that is how and why it all gets mixed up by everyone!

  • Then the people who mix the countries up are obviously bonkers. The names sound nothing alike [at least I don't think so], and the Swedes have Maypole Dancing, do you not? If so, I really don't see how anybody can mix up dancing and manufacturing cheese and or watches.

Sorry for the outburst, I apologise. It is silly to confuse the countries especially when one's far up north and the other is south-west of Britain... why don't they do their research?

  • Yep you've got it right!

But I see why it happens if you aren't European. That guy (?) who said ABBA sung in "Swiss" was Asian and the Americans are also famous for their good knowledge about Europe, right? ;) But I mean, I can't tell the difference between most African countries.

So let people think ABBA sings in Swiss. It's just funny =)

  • All right, fair enough. Actually, I suppose some were tragically born without common sense to look things up. Oh, well, never mind.

  • I hope u r not talking about Americans as the whole continent! and yes it's silly to mix the two countries although in Spanish the names of the countries are almost the same Suiza and Suecia see? but still we don't mix them 2gether

Well back to the topic, yeap I love the swedish versions of the songs!

  • tell me about it.. I was born in sweden and I live here still, but my parents are from uruguay and in spanish sweden is "Suecia" and Switzerland is "Suiza" sounds almost the same, so everytime when they ask me about my homecountry there they say, "tell me about switzerland" I get so frustrated.

  • leesha; can Power metal Be sung in Swedish?

The reason for my questionis: I''m Startinga power metal band called Midnight Sun&I'd love to sing our lyrics in one of the most beautiful languages in the world

  • Freya1133: I believe anything can be achieved and well done if U really put your heart into it, so my answer would be yes. I don't know any swedish Power Metal bands, but I am sure there is a few ones waiting to get famous. :)

  • Falconer have done it (Y)

  • Of course :P I'm from sweden och I know some power metal bands from sweden. Unfortunately none of them are very famous, but still... :)
