I have never heard a more beautiful and inspiring national anthem than the one from my country.
I am truly sorry for what the imperialists did to us and for what we are doing to ourselves through the degeneration of our standards, but Jamaica has tremendous potential.
One day we could become a just society, not just by some political philosophy, but only as we yield to the God to whom our national anthem is directed.
Your depictions were so beautiful and I believe your video can be used as a learning tool to the many around the world who find our country and culture so fascinating. And as a people we sure are.!!! Ahem...
So even though you might not be very fond of our present prime minister, please remember to show off our loving and tolerant characteristics as a people and remember the line in our proud anthem that says....
... with all of our differences we as a people with love and kindness have managed to all find room for each other enabling us to " squeeze-up" finding shade from the hot sun and pouring rain under the umbrella as one Jamaicans.
Please please put away the politicking, and if you can please post Mr Golding as the present prime minister. I mean it is a fact and he was voted in by the same electoral system as the other ministers that were depicted in your video.
My father Rupert Stewart was a successful business man owner of Pennoverland and Crystal ...AKA...the BLUE BIRD BUSSES in Jamaica. I came to Canada to live with my mother in 1978 when I was 9 years old.
I love Jamaica and it has added many beautiful memories to my life even as I still visit today.
We are a complex and simple people at the same time, co-habitating with the many different cultures that arrived in Jamaica each helping it to become what it has become.
He's not important now he destroying the country instead of rebuilding but he's just a man i leave jamaica in the hands of god he can fix jamaica but i can say i love the way he weed out tivoli less gunmen in the country
Jamaicans stand proud. Our fore-parent s made their distint contribution by making Jamaica Independent form our oppressors. Be proud although we are not rich with money, but we still have our pride and dignity. Don't be a sell out like those who refer to Jamaicans at home as "THEM".
I know greater the idepndence the greater the nation will feel independent, but I still think that this country still needs some of regulation or policies made by the British Government. Jamaica will still have powers but they would be slightly restricted, I mean the country has a poor Governement, bad crime rates and a very poor human rights record.
@carlorowe totally agree they need to new ppl in the 2 parties and get rid of the corrupt ones its time 4 a change as to what bruce golding said i dont see non yet pure destruction
I was reading an old Jamaican Gleaner after his death. Sir Donald Sangster story is so interesting. Only one month after he was appointed he passed on of natural causes.
He had the unfortunate distinction of being the shortest serving Prime Mister in Ja., and probably, the shortest serving leader in the world. He was preparing for a budget speech when he had a massive brain haemorrhage.
On Youtbe video "On Youtbe video "Jamaican National Anthem (Instrumental)" look at 00:46 and tell me what you see. So stop that race thing. It is a moral issue not about race." look at 00:46 and tell me what you see. So stop that race thing. It is a moral issue not about race.
What a beautiful anthem! I am embarrassed that I never have heard it before until this Olympics. And the lyrics are so inspiring! God bless Jamaica!!!
There two distinctly different Jamaica. I am amazed that one country can be so dramatically different. There is the gorgeous, beautiful, progressive and talented jamaica. Then there is the ugly, monstrous side, where the people are just wild animals devouring each other. How can this be?
As has been said previously, at the time this video was made, The Hon. Bruce Golding was not the Prime Minister of Jamaica, at that time the PM was The Most Honorable Portia Simpson-Miller. I have no intention to modify this video simply to add Bruce Golding in.
to stinkin ammowasted batty boy are gal who care about u we dont need pp like u in jmaica couse a bulett fi u bout fucked jamica mi srry mi noh know u fi fuck u up insted..dont play with us jamaica u getin u self indeep shittt...suck somethin really deep..kiss ot ma back baty hole

-I am aware that Mrs. Simpson Miller is no longer the Prime Minister of Jamaica. At the date of the video she still was the PM. Unfortunately, Mr. Bruce Golding is now the Prime Minister of Jamaica. Hopefully, sometime soon Mr Golding, and his incompetent Finance Minister will be removed from office.
Y'all anthem is nice. I am an American, but my mom is Jamaican. It is different from other anthems in that it is different from other anthems in that it is not suggestive of war. It is a prayer to God. Not even ours could compare. God Bless Jamaica!
Jamaica is the most amazing place on earth. I went there with my chorale for a missions trip this past summer in Mo Bay. Never have we been so welcomed and loved. It was the most breathtaking beauty and unity. While preparing for our trip we learned the national anthem of Jamaica in order to show respect for the country and its people. It did just that..and after we would sing it, the people would want to hear the US national Anthem. I will forever hold a special place in my heart for Jamaica...
God bless. Glad you loved our beautiful country. Hope you will come, and come again, and come back again, and come back again another time., and keep on coming. LOL! All the best to you and your ministry.
Jamaica, land we love..Good job with the editing and all, u know what would be good the anthem being sung when we won all them gold medals at the Olympics

It's interesting that Jamaicans elected a white guy and kept him there for 9 years. He must've been good.

I wound up here following links to "Eternal Father", the U.S. navy hymn.
Be that as it may, it's nice to see the tribute to independent Jamaica.
It's so nice to see that a small former colony has grabbed the bull by the horns, and done well.
