Mr. Number Call Block works pretty good on my android. I just have it block all calls with no i.d. It's spam filter is very good at blocking telemarketers and credit card companies. You can also block any number u want separately and block complete area codes. It just hangs up on them after one ring and gives no option to leave a voicemail. Nice FREE program from the android market.

Here's how I handle it:

Enter a name for every phone number that you know (Mom, Dad, relative, doctor...) and each subsequent number that you know.  When Mom calls, you'll recognize the call.

Put yourself on the national DO NOT CALL list.

Anything out of your area code at this point is most likely a telemarketer. Just let voice mail take care of it. You won't be charged. You can delete it.
