Seriously. After I finished this game, I felt bad for about a week. The Boss never betrayed her country. Her country betrayed her, but because of her utmost loyalty to the U.S., she accepted her fate and and still died for them. I almost broke in tears when EVA said that the Boss will forever be branded as a War Criminal and no one will ever know the truth about her. That's fucking sad to the core, man. I'm just glad Solid Snake knew the real truth about her in MGS4.

I love all Metal Gears games. However there is something than I'm confuse, as we know Snake lost his eye because he got shooted by Ocelot. Most people forget this thing, the MGS universe is way more modern than the world we live in. It's like 2050 or something. So the technological possibilities are huge. And actually Ocelot only impersonated Liquid to fool the Patriots. He might be "possessed" in MGS2. But I think Kojima wasn't happy with the whole Liquid arm thing so he wrote the whole Liquid Ocelot autosuggestion thing. The plot is still insanely great. I've never played a game with such a great story.

And then there is Raiden, an empty shell formed by the patriots. He didn't know anything about him, so he was the perfect subject for the S3 plan. There is Vamp, just some bisexual mercenary with supernatural powers working for money, but later helps the man who killed the woman he loved just because he is the key to his own death, that is what Vamp wants the most. And beside that if MGS has no character delevopment (which isn't true) it has so much more that LOK doesn't have.

Those characters may have changed motives but they were still the same person by the end of the series. Big boss is still just a soldier (though a very badass one) with a soft spot for the boss, even up to the last second of his life. The most he does is go from american soldier to his own soldier. Raiden is still just some guy who doesn't like being used and is very emotionally closed off. Vamp's character is hardly ever actually explored outside of the words of others in the series.

It depends. All types of PS3 have the ability to play PS1 games so you're in the clear for MGS1 but if you want to play MGS2 or MGS3 you're going to have to go on ebay and search like "PS3 60GB backwards"

what you need to understand is, MGS 5 dosn't particulary mean the future. Kojima may go back to the years before mgs 3 or even after that. Example, the Boss, before she was with the cobra's i think fighting the wars (ww1,ww2) i think. And she has similar fight like the with her and b boss. Most think this for two reasons:

1) During a secret conversation with EVA, she mentions that the reason Ocelot became such a high ranking officer is because he is the son of two 'legends' of war.

2) It is also mentioned by Ocelot or someone that he was cut out of the womb, leaving his mother with scars (which you see on Boss' body during the final fight.

It has been confirmed by Hideo Kojima, and features in the MGS database.
