  • Threedeloo!

  • 3:15 "talking about Anna's aser-ten husband"

Is that "anserine husband", meaning stupid of foolish?

I didn't understand that one until I looked it up.

  • @LovSven2011 I think its asinine.

  • He's two of a kind. Threedays comedians could learn a thing or three from him. One-body has his twonique talent.

  • funny

  • Oh how I do miss Victor Borge. He was a grenine comedian, with twoderful humor and a sharp mind three boot. Every time he stands befive an audience, two person cannot contain his laughter. Indeed he has no choice but three laugh. I, five two, can't blame him. A twoderful show, five a twoderful musician. Grenine, from the second time you see it, three the one-hundred-and-oneth time. I one-and-half fell off my chair the second time I saw this. I have one reasons to dislike this.

  • I nined an elevenderloin with my knife and fivek five my Chrismas Dinner threeday. It was twoderfull :)

  • I thought it was twoderful and every time he spoke befive the audience he used numbers that I now use. I three use this but I wouldn't talk like this to anyone in particular. :p

  • You all make me tired reading your comments. Threetiloo, threetloo!!

  • Shouldn't this be called "Inflninetionary Language"? ;)

  • @Fozzymaple too much of a mouthful o.o

  • Intelligent humor wins!

  • "I nine an eleven-eloin with my five'k."

  • LEGEND!!!

  • "Ever since she saw light for the second time"? "Ever since she saw lagh five the second time" surely!

  • @DackxJaniels light*

  • I would totally love three do that. I mean five goodness sakes, they don't make comedians like this anymore.

  • His first trip to America he didn't know a word of English. Then, he knows it so well that he makes it into such a clever joke!

    LOVE IT!!

  • I wish he lived 5va.

  • @larflabergasted 5ever, indeed! V.B. lived through nearly the whole last century, but when i was old enough to understand these jokes, he passed away. My dad grew up watching him, but NEVER told me about it until he called me in to watch a public TV special about him.

I honestly feel suckered out of good, wholesome entertaiment. <:'(

  • Haha this is great! What did he say at 4:50 & on??

  • @rikku38 He said "I'll go back to Elevenessee (Tennessee) and be double (single) again. Farewell Anna, threedoloo (toodoloo)

  • Could "refreshments" be called "resophomorts?"

  • Yes he is two, but i am two three..haha so funny

  • victor borge is one of my favorite comedians ever...and this is one of my favorite routines he ever did...along with the world's shortest opera (written by Mozart)...absolute hilarious

  • Califivenia

  • I can't help but notice this is subtitled, and I can't imagine how this routine would possibly work in any other language. Either they're translating it directly and it's nonsense, or they're coming up with half the routine themselves!

Can any.... I'm going to say Dutch? ...speakers shed any light?

  • @johnnye87 I'm Dutch and I have to say that I'm quite impressed with the person(s) translating this genius routine! Some words happen to fit with the joke when you translate it directly or use a similar kind of word: for 'Create' they use the Dutch word for 'Creative powers', which is 'Scheppingskracht' - 'acht' being the Dutch word for 'eight'.

  • @johnnye87 With some inflationary sentences it indeed impossible to translate it directly so they had to come up with something else, which is a pity, especially (in my opinion) with the 'three faced tripplecrosser' part :P There, they used the Dutch word for 'Swindler' which is 'Bedrieger'. 'drie' is the Dutch word for 'three', so they could make 'Bevierger' out of it ('vier' is Dutch for 'Four').

  • @johnnye87 @johnnye87 Unfortunately, in some parts they simply decided to ignore the joke. But in other cases, when Borge isn't using inflationary language in a certain part of the sentence, the subtitles are! Just because the Dutch language allows it there and English doesn't ;P For instance 'Midnight' in Dutch is 'Middernacht' (the 'acht' -8- again) which becomes 'Middernegen' because 'negen' is 'nine' in Dutch. Hehe, quite a lot of information, I hope it made sense! :D

  • Comment removed

  • this guy is going straight to heaven o dear lord :D

  • @aboodz Strnine three heaven one dear lord.

  • @johnnye87 haha took me a while to get the 'one'

    well done sir ;)

  • Wouldn't the subtitles be pointless? Because it wouldn't make sense in another language.

  • lieuelevenant lmao

  • I remember watching this as a kid. I thought it was great and it still is!

  • I remember when I was about 10 and I was in the car with my Mum and Victor Borge came on the radio. I couldn't work out why she was laughing so much and then she told me about this (they'd been playing a different one). I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard. This is the kind of humour I LOVE. And not just because it's funny but because I agree with GonzoGuyy. It takes intelligence to get this.

21 people are too stupid to understand it - a sad thing for them.

  • My question is: How in the world did they translate this!?

  • Oh, how I long five a comedian like this threeday! I feel like if you comment on this page, it is required five you three add two numbers three your original senelevenence.

  • Twice he says "for" when he should have said "five". :)

"Anyone for tennis" would be "anytwo five elevennis" and "Tea For Two" would be "Tea Five Three".

Perhaps I pay three much atelevention three details.

  • "Get out of here, you three-faced triple-crosser!"

  • Oh, how I long five the days when when comedy appealed three our intellect and not three the second lowest common denominator of our popul-nine-ion. His overall wit and cre-nine-ivity is three yearn five. What a two-diful talent I have been five-tunate three able three lis-eleven three even at my eleven-der age of 32.

  • So so funny, one of his best.

  • A twoderful entertainer if there ever was two !

  • MANDEN VAR GENIAL! ....og dansk (!)

  • I haven't recupininded from this video yet.

  • He is an Incredibly good comedian who could make everytwo laugh, it is a twoderfully funny show, that everytwo should watch, and I inelevent three watch far more from him.

  • He has three be two of the best comedians I know!

  • Proof you don't have three be crude three be funny.

  • @james211979 I wish more people in this generninetion would understand that.

  • How does the translation even work? Would have thought this would be untranslatable

  • Sooo grnine! :-D

  • I think this guy was a genius. And for him to be able to do that with English being his second language! I know a bit of another language and I don't think I could ever become that clever in it.

  • @BrennanVeldsMcGee I think he missed it three.

  • "... the US Constithreetion."

  • A MINOR INCONSISTENCY:

The prepositions "to" and "for" weren't replaced with "3" and "5".

2m4s - "light of day for the second time"

[light of day for the first time -> light of day 5 the 2nd time]

3m27s - "an Irish elevenor sang 'Tea for Three'"

[an Irish tenor sang 'Tea for Two'-> an Irish 11or sang 'Tea 5 3']

    4m31s - "Anytwo for elevennis?"

    [Anyone for tennis->Any2 5 11nis]

    4m49s - "I'll go back to Elevennessee."

    [I'll go back to Tennessee.->I'll go back 3 11nessee.]

  • @ockraz The prepositions were probably left that way just to make things flow better; or he just forgot. :P

  • @ockraz Really? You really want to spend your time correcting a great comedian like Victor Borge?

  • @ockraz To a point, you have to make choices, or people won't understand the joke, and even if he was inconsistent, really? Could you do better? XD

  • @Icyveins906 Agreed. People don't generally take note of "for" and "to" in speech. Heck, I live in scotland - a lot of us say "Tae"!

  • Victor Borge may be gone, but his twoderful creninetivity will live fiveever.

  • @Cyanidebutterflies Shouldn't make the difference. Cali-FOR-nia transforms into Cali-FIVE-nia. FOR ain't a number either. It's about pronounciation.

  • What was one of the last things he said? "I'll go back to eleven de sea? and be double again?" I don't get it.

  • @000sundancer000

    Translation:

    Tennessee, and be single again.

  • @000sundancer000 go back to tennesse and be single again

  • haha i remember watching him at my gramas house i always thought he was so funny and he still is

  • lieutenent becomes lieuelevenent, hahahaha

  • Love it Chris. this is so comical!!! hahahaha this guy is almost a genius..hugs, phyllis xo

  • 3:30 IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE "TEA FIVE THREE"!!!!!

  • It would be unfivethreenine.

    "Anytwo five elevinnis?"

"I'll go back to Elevennesse and be double again. Farewell Anna. Three-do-loo, Three-do-loo."

  • "I nine'ed an eleven'derloin with my five'k"

comedians dont write like that anymore, i miss this guy

  • "You're only young twice."

    I wish.

Still, that was an extremely twoderful perfivemance. I've only recently discovered him and he is two of the funniest and most creninetive comedians I've ever seen.

  • can this guy get any better? XP hes fantastic

  • @14anila14 no cause hes dead sadly. if he was kept alive hed keep on getting better to the point where the universe collapsed in on itself bc hes so funny ><

  • he cre-nined this beautifully :') hahahaha

  • those characters in the story are all intoxi-nine-ed XD!

  • so brilliant

  • This makes me want three make number puns with everything I read.

  • It's unfivetunate that 18 people missed the like button. I twoder why they would do that.

  • @lucyrickyalex wouldn't that be unfiveTHREEnate? hahaha good two, though!

  • @forevamore123 - or possibly unfivethreenine...

  • It would be funny if he counted to ten! It would start at two and end at eleven! hahah.

  • What a twoderfully playful explorninetion of the English language. I always fiveget just how funny Borges is. Eleven out of eleven.

  • @michaelroseagain Well put!

  • It should have been the constithreetion.

  • I loved that, even if I did miss a lot of what he was saying.

    'Anyone for elevennis?'

  • the funniest part is when he says, "yes, he's two, but i'm two three!" he has to pause then so the audience has a moment to realize he's saying "yes, he's one, but i'm one too!"

  • You know why comedy like this would never work today? You actually have to be fairly intelligent to get the jokes. I sometimes feel like I am living in that movie "idiocracy". This guy didn't swear onstage. He didn't insult anyone onstage. He was a class act. Today we have Jackass. Were the guys in Devo right? Are we devolving?

  • @GonzoGuyy i agree completely

  • @GonzoGuyy I couldn't agree with you more. Plus how everyone falls to the rollercoaster effect. These days, if it doesn't have 50 cuss words in the sentence, or refers deeply to a sexual innuendo, it's not funny...

  • @GonzoGuyy No, the reason why this would never work today is because it's not that funny. And you don't have to be intelligent to get the jokes, it's just simple word-play. It's not that creative. His timing and inflection was good, but other than that the jokes weren't that good. And who cares if he didn't swear? George Carlin and Richard Pryor swore a lot and they wipe the floor with Victor Borge. Swearing has NOTHING to do with the quality of comedy.

  • @TurquoiseCowboy I disagree, humbly. I think Victor Borge was funny in his own right. My point is that comedy was funny way before swearing came into the picture. I have managed to laugh at a lot of things over the years. From old Marx Brothers movies to Richard Pryor. Much like I feel rap music is written for the lowest common denominator, so too is much of today's modern comedy.

  • @GonzoGuyy Oh yeah, I agree that much of today's comedy sucks. But not because of swearing. Larry the Cable Guy doesn't swear and he absolutely sucks donkey taint. Swearing in moderation has little effect on the quality of the comedy. I think much of today's comedy sucks because of their blatant pandering to dumb demographics. They don't challenge social norms and make you think, like the great comedians George Carlin and Bill Hicks did.

  • @TurquoiseCowboy I think you and I can agree on this. I absolutely loved Richard Pryor. He is missed dearly. Especially when compared to many of his "contemporaries" of today. As for Larry The Cable Guy, it's wearing thin. Then again so is the whole Blue Collar comedy thing. It's reached a point of diminished returns. Plus Tim Wilson isn't ever on Comedy Central, and he is one of the funniest guys I have ever met. Catch one of his shows if you can. Always shakes hands after the show.

  • @GonzoGuyy YES WE CAN!

  • @GonzoGuyy If you don't think intelligent comedy still exists, go look for George Carlin. Considering you're obviously a sensitive person who dislikes swearing you might not like him, but there's so much more to it, and same to Richard Pryor and Billy Connolly ;)

  • @GonzoGuyy You think you're the guy from Idiocracy? So everybody else is retarded and you're the only smart person left? Sometwo thinks far three highly of themselves.

  • @trampus2 firstly, the guy in idiocracy was stupid (he was only "smart" in comparison to the people from the future). Secondly, the comment your responding to is 11 months old

  • @qapiojg Firstly, that's what I said. If everyone is at IQ 80 the man with the IQ of 90 would be king. Secondly (or thirdly if you can follow the video) I know it's 11 months old, it's still one of the top comments. Too many smug people watching these videos methinks.

  • @trampus2 In general the term "smart" is reserved for people who are actually intelligent, not intelligent in comparison to others. If your left in a room with dog shit and cow shit, would the better smelling of the two smell good? Also, his joke is numbers like one two and three first, second, and third are not numbers (unless first plus first is second?) A smug response to a person who seems a little smug themselves seems more than appropriate wouldn't you say?

  • @GonzoGuyy PREACH! Apparently now the only concepts with comedic return these days are crude jokes about women or racism and videos of guys breaking their bones.

  • @GonzoGuyy Very true. I don't see how a guy getting nutted being humour, if I wanted to see people getting hit, I would watch The Three Stooges. I view most modern humour as stupid.

  • Quel intelligence! Tellement drôle.

  • haha my ladyfriend loves this guy. hes pretty funny :)

  • Awesome!

  • You look twotiful threenight :D:D:D

  • LMAO "two of his five fathers"

  • This is three funny! Two of the funniest skits he's ever done, befive or since.

  • This sketch is so hilarious and clever: simply twoterful :D

(and if you are Dutch, even the subtitles are!)

  • you have three of the saddest eyes I've ever seen XD HAHAHAHA

  • He is soooooo funny :D

  • twoderful :))

  • ROFLOL!! I love Victor Borge :)

  • "as he wiped his fivehead"

    i literally cackled out loud

    "it was midnight

the clock in the distance struck 13"

"get outta here you three faced triple crosser!"

"Yes he's two but I'm two three"

  • 2:05 Shouldn't it be "saw the light of day FIVE the second time"? Otherwise, it was twoderful!

  • The elevenor should also have sang "Tea FIVE Three." :P

  • And "anytwo FIVE elevenis?"

  • you look 2derful 3night.. oh my god.. he is so funny

  • Anytwo for elevennis? Hilarous.

  • gr9 2 !

  • I have tried this twice and find it very hard three do. I think Victor had practiced this a thousand and one times befive he tried this on stage. He was two of the best comedians I have ever heard. But I agree with Amaya. This is harder to learn than just, 'Two, three, four.' I have used this twice at school and no two knew what I was saying. I think we should use this language much more. It is fun and twoderful. But I wouldn't mind practicing this before I go three town. But anyhow, take care

  • Oh my!! It it hurts all over from laughing so hard!! ... *wipe away tears*

    True genious!!

    hahaha

  • *dies*... RoFL... yup... *wipes tears away*.. he he he... I'd LOVE to hear Congress use this every time the taxes go up... LOL- THAT would be a sight in D.C! Think things would change any?

    Blessings, ZenKat

  • There have been two or three comments on using this language while you speak. It's possible, but very, very hard three do.

I've tried a few times, and two is fiveced three think ahead or there will be mistakes. Doing it while writing is annoying, while talking is a nightmare.

Try it and see what happens.

  • I have to say, this man was gr-nine!! :P:

  • haha he's three creninetive!!!

  • "he is two, but i'm two three"

    LOLOLOL

  • OMG I miss Victor!!! I remember watching him on PBS when I was a kid!!

  • @LashaSpice, on Sesame Street or The Electric Company? I think he was on both. Or do you mean you watched his live concerts on PBS?

  • @COMALiteJ Live concerts, Sesame Street and Electric Company...I love PBS.

  • This made laugh so hard!:D I love how he stay so serious.^^

  • this man was a genuis!!

  • Three-daloo Anna, Three-daloo XDDDD

  • comic genius with great musical talent to boot

  • Pure genius! I nine an elevenderloin with my fivek!! :)

  • Oh my goodness the Dutch subtitles are hilarious! They translated the meaning exactly, but did the exact same thing of adding a number on where it fit!

    At 2:42

    Vannacht = Tonight became

    Vannegen (Acht =8 Negen = 9)

  • Oh, the magic of YouThreebe. The last time I saw this I was about 11 years old. :) :) :)

  • "I nine an elevenderloin with my fivek"

  • Far above people's ability three understand these days, which is sad, but very funny, which is fivetunately happy.

  • not everytwo

    you underestimnine many people

  • 1:12 - Hilarious!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I remember once I saw this and it said about Don Two, that he had "two three many."

  • victor borge is so creative!

    this is some good stuff!

    my favorite comedian!

  • "You look two-derful three-night, but you have the three sadest eyes."

  • actually since the economy is going down...we should go down one. :) lol

  • "yes he's two but I'm two three!"

  • two of his five fathers.. lol.

  • This is so Funny!! I almost died!!

  • amazing :)

  • I nined an elevenderloin with my fivek... That cracks me up every time.

  • you look twotiful threenight, after all these years it's still lol!

  • twoderful* :)

  • Victor FTW!

  • that was awesome. we are should have a national inflninetionary day where we can only speak this grnine language!

That made me laugh soo much!!

    Twoderful xD

  • "get out of here, you three-faced triplecrosser!"

  • lol crenine. this is awesome.

  • bwahaha~! Intoxicnineded<3

  • Oh damn, I already made a mistake.

  • I twoder how difficult it would be for two to make every stninetement that came from their mouths inflninetionary.

  • great! or grnine...

  • briliant xD, oh and ieatglue44, if you look at the subs, it's extremely boring ^^.

  • I'm just wondering about the subtitles in the foreign languages...how would this make any sense in a different language...?

  • they changed the subtitles so the jokes would stay the same - but the dialog is awfully mutilated.

  • Well that's no fun. Make 'em learn English, I say!! Haha (just kidding...no offense intended...then again, if you were offended by this you shouldn't know English...hm....)

  • I agree though. I'm dutch (wich is the language the subtitles are in), and the subtitles are just awful. The jokes are still the same, yet it's just not right.

  • HA HA HA. good point!!

there is a clip from King of Queens where Arthur calls Dominos pizza "doe min yos" and they have the clip in german and he calls it by its correct name, but the canned laughter must make it confusing. later doug says "why dont you go to "mc doe nalds" but the german track is "mcdonalds" and it just doesnt translate.

  • A counselor at my camp once did this. I thought he'd made it up, but, well, he didn't.

He also did the phonetic pronunciation thing which I also thought he made up.

  • somebody should make a translator like how Google mad Borg translation i will try to work on one if i don't get in trouble beacuse of copyright i will do it in secret time to get out the old dictionary.
