  • i have to say that "Ah qual poter, oh Dei!

    Donaste alla beltà"

  • Dear operagirl81,

The obligato imstrument for this magnificent aria is a basset clarinet, and yes, it gives ne the chills as well. Have you listened to Cecilia Bartoli singing it?? Her coloratura is perfect.

    Constanze.

  • Both Elina and the clarinet gave me chills.

  • こんなソプラノ歌手初めて観ました。パワー戴きました。またお会いしたいです。

  • two great Latvian musicians on one stage. bravo.

  • Wonderful!!!!!!

  • I have to say, that she is perfect :3

  • @guviudes yes, I see 2 perfect points you are making.

  • @guviudes Breathtakingly fantastic!!!

  • I have to say, in spite of the fact that Garanca is technically faultless, I find her singing deadly dull.

  • wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Lacmene

    as are you

  • Sensational - thanks for posting!

  • Not knowing this, I had a listen to other versions. This is quite distinct in style, with a (excuse my lack of technical language to express myself) less strident approach (both her & orchestra) with a sweeter tone. Yet despite the more restained & lyrical style is the ability to provide power & emphasis to rival any of the other versions - the range of emotion & tone therefore seems wider, so making piece all the more engaging. Others risk showing off technique to detriment of song's beauty.
