  • If you say that Heracles and Hercules are the same two persons, it is like you would say that Alexander was the same guy as it was shown in this movie. Hercules is a story, children story, which origins in the life of mythical Heracles. The only thing they have in common, is fulfiling the tasks and the strenght of 20 elephants. Nothing else. So when you hear the name Heracles, dont think about Hercules. And likewise off course.

  • Who knows these things?

Best line ever, explains life itself.

  • I think any true movie pundit will appreciate this film. Oliver stone made this to be much more than your average ''war movie.'' The spectrum of events which took place in this mans life made him unique. This movie shouldnt be respected because of fight scenes only, but rather the poetry, beauty in colour inside and out. Well done Mr Stone.

  • No man or woman can be too powerful or too beautiful without disaster befalling.

  • Truly a good scene. I enjoy the movie and Oliver uses cut scenes of these parts to highlight the story.

  • Val Kilmer is really a great actor!Amazing performarce!

  • powerful scene.

  • Great film. One of my favorites. When Val Kilmer says "A king is not born, he's made" what is the song that's playing? I don't think it's on the soundtrack because I have it.

  • great acting by val kilmer

  • This is what really ticks me off every time I watch this scene:

King Phillip II says to young Alexander: "A king isn't born, he's made". This is a direct ripoff of one of Tiglath-Pileser's quotes that he said to his son, Cicero.

  • This is for all those who lead..... It isn't a rip off it is a fact. but I understand what you are saying...

  • Being a king is truly lonley and hard.....I wish others would understand the words that this man is saying.

  • Val Kilmer is awesome in this picture, alot of people did not like this picture, but i think its far better than Troy.

  • I agree!

  • Way better, the plots off basically!

  • Is Heracles Hercules?

  • yes

  • No, he's not. Heracles and Hercules are a whole way different people.

  • heracles is greek and hercules is latin. same person. its like the difference between jupiter and zeus or saturn and poseidon.

  • a most perfect scene set in a carve like in a women wom. An experince and caring father sharing life and the myths to his innocent son. Finishing the scene with a clip of snakes.

  • i think he was trying to tell him that all great men can fall, and with glory comes great pain...by far, my favorite scene in the movie

  • philip ihaa

  • A most perfect scene set in a carve like in a womens wom. An experince and caring father sharing life struggle and glory, the myths with his innocent son. End of the scene finishing with a clip of snakes as a symbol of women.
