  • not to many years ago i heard his house in california burned the firemen saved his prize black gibson guitar after braking open a sealed vacum glass containner it was stored in in his basemnent, tom said the guitar was the only thing that ment anything to him he thanked them for saveing the guitar, ok thats all the information im giveing out, i just thought some of you might enjoy hearing his story, much love AKA David Coffin*

  • Tom ias not the rebbel most think he is we use to hang out together back in 1975 and 76 in muncie, once we went to the muncie music center to get a bridge and set of diamand strings for his black gibson guitar and man did it cause a sture 5 minutes after he strung his guitar up he was singing and every body in the shop even the ones there for music lessions came out to hear him sing it was amazing to say the least i dident think he could play the guitar so i bought every thing to make it work,

  • Even before my father's fathers they called us all rebels. As they burned our corn fields and left our cities in ruble. I can still feel the eyes of those blue belled devils through the concrete and metal.

  • fuckin brilliant

  • a little rough around the edges, inside a litte hollow. great lyrics

  • HEY HEY HEY EXCELLENT SONG

  • anyone noticed tom´s shaky hands? The left hand is pretty shaky :o

  • Probably the one he broke back in the 80s. Actually because of this song, he was frustrated that he couldn't get it how he wanted, so he slammed his hand against a brick wall.

  • kinda late i know but i thought id comment haha. The doctors said hed probably never play a chord again but 8 months later, Tom showed them whos boss and finished the song playing hard.

  • Yeah, I noticed that. I hope nothing's wrong with his hand. But like ComplexKid441 said, it could be from his little incident in 1984 after he literally turned his hand into powder from bashing it into the wall during the recording of this song.

  • on a documentary I saw he said it was during the recording of reffugee

  • They must have read my earlier post. We did get to hear this at the Gorge on Sat the 16th. It was just amazing. Thanks

  • The 1985 version at the Wiltmore Theatre is much, much better.

One time I saw him in Phylly. It was sold out and I showed up w/o tickets. I was so upset.

Then the ticket office opened suddenly, and I stood in line hoping to get a couple (4 me + my brother).

When the lady was selling it to me, I was trying to get a good location but couldn't really tell where.

Then the guy who was behind me on the line, looked at them and started screaming; turned out we got front row, dead center.

  • gee luna... give the old guy a break... yeah his shows probably did have a lot more energy in them when he was in his 30's versus his 60's. And nothing better than tickets released after the stage is set and the buffer rows are released. I did what you did at a Stones show a couple of years ago and my gf was ^5ing Mick everytime he came out the catwalk!

  • hes 58,not in his 60s.

  • I was there and I've been in awe ever since, I've always loved them but that made it even more real we saw their tour buses the next day in Indy so cool

  • Ok Tom we need to hear this at the Gorge next month!

  • I was at this show too, and it was sooooo goooood. Exquisite.

  • This is fast becoming my favorite TP song. It's great.

  • Going to see him July 23!!! I love this song and i NEVER thought i'd hear it live but it looks like he's been playin it everywhere!!!! I can't wait!!!

  • I can't believe it! I want to hear this live again!
