i have a ps2, and i've stuck by fifa for a while. but when you play fifa on the ps2 alot, you start to notice things that make the game look unrealistic. i'm going to try pes 09 because i believe that its more realistic gameplay.

fifa owns on the next gen consoles though

In recent yrs I was once a PES fan, part of which because I didn't own a next-gen console, I had a PS2. I now currently own an XBox 360, & I gotta say..PES is only good for PS2, for Next-gen consoles I highly recommend the FIFA series. I mean,in both NEXT & OLD-gen consoles, the overall gameplay of PES is the same if to compare. As for FIFA, there is a significant difference between Old and Next-gen consoles. That's what I think. Though I'd really like PES' grass graphics implemented into FIFA

graphics for FIFA are definitely better than PES. Also FIFA gameplay and player movement is infinitely more lifelike than PES. Plus FIFA's licences laugh at PES few licences.

I bought it and it inproved 10 fold on the pes8 for ps3.

Easy to master, and always cometitive gameplay with computer and friends.

although the PSnetwork have royally fucked up with my ps3 account and gameplay, i really need a password reset.

but i tend to bring 2 controllers and as do many others in making a fun coop with no need for online, which is great.

and Become A Legend, is boring to start with, but id prefer an incentive, like for the ps2,

unlocking arenas, and new ball kits.

i think this is a good game but the commentator does always state the obvious facts and become a legend mode you have to get your player so right just tobeable to score alot on regular mode but i think fifa is much better this year

technically fifa 09 has better gameplay, but pes is more enjoyable.

presentation on pes is better, players have emotions and look better.

pes has better modes, master league has champions league built into it, and become a legend is way better.

PES have much better controls! For me, and all of my friends, controls are the most important quality in a soccer game... I can`t stop to play Become a Legend and the traditional versus games with my friends... PES is much better, this is my opinion!

the truth is Soccer wasn't popular in the US in the late 90's / early 21st century, so EA didnt really try as hard to put up a fight with PES in the past but when SOccer started gaining popularity in the US, EA (One of best Sports game companies) decided to get serious and come up with a game that would beat PES and last year they succesfully did...I'm a fan of both ( On PS2, i was on the top 10 for PES 2007) trust me when i say FIFA 09 is the best soccer game out right now...period

Spot on review. I love PES and have always bought it. But while its still better to play the fifa 09, it looks awful and its so out of date its untrue. The animation, which was once the best around feels old at stiff. Fifa plays a good game of football but looks incredible so IMO if you arent playing on PS2, Fifa is the one to get.

The reviewer is an idiot. Hes obviously been bribed by EA to give FIFA a great review and talk crap about PES. Having played both this year, PES is the better game by far. FIFA still plays crap no matter how fancy pants it looks.

PES Legend mode trumps FIFA's by a mile, the player movement and passing of PES is crisp and fluid. The reviewer complains of it being to easy yet plays it on Beginer as can be seen with his animation-rant. You dont GET a CHANCE to run that much in PES on Top Player
