  • end to the 80's? the cure is still ALIVE AND WELL!!! they need more appreciation from the younger generation!!!!!

  • @kbbyerly1 they won't really get it i'm afraid.

very few younger people appreciate it, mostly the goth scene.

  • @Mario6732

i am not goth and i adore cure, because my father and mother were listening to them when i was younger :D esspecially disintegration album :D

  • @1234DIMA1234 you should listen to japanese whispers or bloodflowers. great albums...you know what, jsut listen to all of them XD

  • @Mario6732

have listened them to, i love all cure music but i preffer disintegration, because of memories, but still as i said all cure music is GO(O)D

  • @kbbyerly1 I am 14 and love this band. I still like Pulp better even though they sound nothing alike. Formed about the same time though. And do i get bonus point from being from the southern part of the united states where nobody knows pulp?

  • @DamonAlbarnFan Good for you!, true. No. Definitely.

  • @kbbyerly1 I'm 13 and I love the cure :)

  • @kbbyerly1 I never really liked this song, but its taken me 20 years to appreciate this song. It's got an intense dark feel to it. Dam I'm listening to the words, maybe I can relate now.

  • @Mrgalacticone you appreciate it now ... that's all that counts. their lyrics are amazing ...

  • @kbbyerly1 i very much agree, i'm 13 and i LOVE the cure, i base all of my art on the cure and try to get all of my friends into them. It's horrible to think that people could not know of this band or echo and the bunnymen, sisters of mercy, adam ant ect..... my gneration should be more aware of what music truely is.. :)

  • @georgewitcombvideos More aware of what true music is hmmm? What that sounded more like to me is that you were saying that your music is better and that's all the reason why they should listen to it, but I'm not accusing you of that, just saying it sounded way more elitist than "sharing music"

  • @Anoneymoos2012 lol, don't overanalyze what the poor kid said, because he's right, I'd rather people listen to real singers with real gifted voices and meaningful lyrics than all that manufactured bullcrap.

  • @Daffneyfan Who said I listened to any of that shit? I listen to The Cure all the fucking time, FUCK WIT ME BITCH DIP SET

  • @Anoneymoos2012 Care to repeat that in English this time, bro?

  • @Daffneyfan LOL I like you you're funny

  • @georgewitcombvideos you are wonderful!!

  • @kbbyerly1 Hey, I'm 17 and my friend, who's 14, and I appreciate this them. I personally believe Disintegration is the best album ever made and The Cure is the best band ever.

  • @kbbyerly1 im a 16 year old girl. But im an unconformist. good music like this will never be appritiated unledd ur like me and can see with your third eye.

  • @kbbyerly1 i agree im from the younger generation and i hate all the computer shite thats supposed to b music out on the radio im obsessed with the cure siouxsie and the banshees and bauhaus and 80s metal are what real music is

  • @kbbyerly1 That's what ALL The Cure fans say when they're the age of the guy below you, LOL I would know, usally when someone listen to something good that's been around along time they're like "MANNN this is better than that Lil Wayne crap everyone listens to", then they go right back to listening to that shit themselves because no one heard of this and no one cares

  • @Anoneymoos2012 Exactly !!! I have been listening to The Cure since the late 80's and I feel like I found out about them late .

  • nene que haces tu? mi marido non c'è quindi nemmeno io.........

  • The tour they did in '89 was the very first concert I have ever been too ! I still love this band . There will never be another band like this ever.

  • Disintigration is by far the best album ever made, by the best band ever to exist <3

  • MITICI!!!!!

  • Pura magia

  • I just destroyed the reply button!

  • This song and the entire Disintegration album are true masterpieces. The lastest bit of Robert Smith's work that comes close to this is "The Loudest Sound." Another great song.

  • @destructingparabola You are so right Disintegration is perfect. I love to listen to it when it is rainning.

  • @simpilcity4dnb one 'n' in raining dear

  • Best makeout song, ever....

  • how can anyone "dislike" this??? or any cure song? thats simply crazy... :)

  • I really wish we had bands like the cure today. all we have is the bieber.....

  • Epic!!

  • Love.

  • A song I listen to when I am sad. Brings me some clarity.

  • listen to this with rainy mood.com as rainy background music !! much love x

  • My subwoofers love this song. They keep saying:

yum yum yum yum......yum ......yum yum.....yum yum yum....

  • The Cure's "Disintegration" is their finest moment. A shining blow. Brilliant in it's glitter and shadow. Thumbs up!

  • i still listen to this tune after all these years.it still sounds great.it reminds me of an old girlfiend i had.this was the only record she owned so we listened to it a lot.happy memories

  • thanks for uploading album version

  • ill bet even god in heaven would find many of lifes meaning in this album. such emotions. never has such touching words been written..sorry i seem to be biased

  • OMG, this song brings up so much emotion for me. I listened to Disintegration a lot when I was going through some stuff in my teens. Love this album.

  • yes - disintegration was always my favorite too!

  • This is just beautiful.

  • check the ENTREAT version of this song...man, i was blown away with that 21-second note...go and see it for yourself! :)

  • Agilaz1989, thank you, this song gives me also chills; while driving to the police station to pick up my roommate who was carjacked and beaten I was listening to it... back in 1996...

  • when I put my headphones and play this song..it's like clean acid trip...and whole Disintegration is 1 fairy album...

  • Yes. Best album of my generation!

  • I'm not a cure fan as a rule but this song, along with a few others, fucking ROCK. I don't hate on the cure, it's just usually not what I feel like hearing. It's too sad, and too moving.

  • This album is made to be PLAYED LOUD!!

  • I'm crazy? this is not the music permeating my whole life

  • Sounds better through 150 watt speakers or it did as I remember, not YouTube low quality version.

  • i love how this song is immediately followed by rain sounds in "same deep water" on the album. each song is beautiful and really greatly arranged too. few albums can be played straight through...

  • @ayititifi10

    I've always thought this too.

  • great song

  • I couldn't think of a more proper end to the 80s.

  • @strangelove262 The Stone Roses

  • My favourite album, closely followed by BLUE BELL KNOLL by the cocteau twins.

  • I feel like bands have been ripping off this type of dark sound for years.

  • @352hardcor

    I wouldn't say 'ripping off'?

    How about influenced? :D

  • i agree

  • this song is jsut amazing. so haunting and spooky. I hate that my friends don't know who The Cure are because they are the best band EVER

  • I remember buying the cassette tape and walking around wintery Melbourne Australia when the album came out back in 89. My love affair with this album began instantly. The walkman loaded with this tape accompanied me to work, the long hours of nightshift at factory.to gigs and long train travel.I love it so much.

  • This song embodies emptiness, transcends the soul to a place where pain and comfort struggle to find their place.

  • Awesome production although I think it would sound even better with the strings a little deeper in the mix.

  • i think i hit 'dislike' by accident- total accident-

  • deep and amazing

  • i remember a long time ago i was doing some yard work for a friend's dad as a favor. he started to play disintegration i was like "oh cool you like the cure". he looked at me and asked do you have this album? i said yes, he smile and said "then you know where you're going!" didn't know what he meant back then. but, now i think i know.

  • @curehead where?

  • @Babyygirl161

    that confounded him.

  • when going to these vids i know most people feel the same as me, and reading through the comments always cheer me up because then i know i'm not the only one

    feeling this way

  • I deteriorate, I live in dirt

  • Such a strange beauty of a song -one of The Cure's darkest and most haunting tunes. Thanks a lot for the upload:)

  • If you listen to the guitar riff, you'll know where Gaga got the riff for 'Just Dance.

  • a great surprise ! great atmosphere !

  • if you're having one of " THOSE " days, this is the song for you !!! there would be nothing better than to take a fist full of XanaX and a pint of your favorite liquor, throw on the headphones, hit the play/repeat button, and drift away.....you strangle me, entangle me in hopelessness, and Prayers For Rain.....

  • pure orgasm !

  • if you want to hear some really depressing tunes, check /watch?v=SH_wfMAAP3A, or /watch?v=HAzJ_7CeWbc both are hungarian songs, but the feelings are general

  • God, such a beautiful song from a beautiful album...

  • Comment removed

  • In the "52 most depressing songs ever" This was #18...And, wellllll...I THOUGHT ALL 52 SHOULD BE CURE SONGS! I mean think about it. Go through all their albums and you get beautiful emotional dark masterpieces! Most of the other songs were just cheap attempts. "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks isnt bad and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division is a GREAT song, but the rest I was waiting for The Cure...

  • @WWEFalcon Try the album "Discouraged Ones" by Katatonia, it always get me into the mood..

  • Pray for new great stuff from the Cure again...yes one the greatest song by sweet Cure

  • let's turn off the light

  • Can't believe that there are no dislikes at all on this song...so amazing even the denizens of YouTube can't hate it.

  • great song from a truly inspirational album. My favorite song from this album is still Same Deep Water As You

  • Disintegration is the history of all of us, who belong to 80s

  • I love the cure and this is the best song ever

  • Best cure song by far in my opinion. This song just gives me the chills with the all the instrumental things they have going on. And Disintegration is the best album out there, over any other artist, also my opinion.

THUMBS UP IF YOU LOVE THE CURE

  • @vitorocks18 I went to watch the concert that was promoting this album at Birmingham NEC in 1989 (The Prayer Tour) I was 8 rows fm the front. A truely awsome concert I will never forget the experience I was 23 year old student then. A longtime ago now

  • @vitorocks18 its my favorite song by the cure

  • @zyan05 me too man, definitely.

  • @vitorocks18 oh yeah

  • @vitorocks18 i agree with you dude

  • @vitorocks18 I agree! I loved Untitled... It was my favorite on this album, but then again there wasn't anything that the Cure put out that i didn't like.... :-D

  • @vitorocks18 i love the boom, the weather quake at 37-38. when i was 15 i listend it with headphones. Still do... Perfect song to introduce the next: The same deep water as you.
