Welcome to Death Valley, indeed. He is going to fit perfectly into a clemson offense. The fact he can get yards after the catch is just what we've been missing.
Watch the Army all american game this weekend, the best receiver on the field will be Gallon, who of course is going to ....... Michigan, and of course all Michigan games are on TV, so you can watch him for severl years..
BGryce is a sellout. N0 way should he be the #1 recruit in the state of minnesota. If their team loses to Zimmerman no way they can have a #1 recruit Pine City schooled zimmerman and if it would've been Breck it would've been worse
Stay home Bryce. You get to play for a team that is on the rise start next year or your sophomore year, play in a new stadium, and you get to do all of it in front of family and friends.
Bryce would be a great fit in the Oregon Ducks' high powered offense (they scored 45 points in the first half against Arizona and 65 against Oregon State). Chip Kelly is the master at getting the ball into the hands of playmakers and the Ducks have some very good, young quarterbacks in the pipeline to get the ball to receivers. GO DUCKS!
I think you guys have some nice pieces to start with, but Rich Rod still has a major project in front of him. A school as steeped in tradition and notoriety like UM will be back. Remember, you guys dont have the monopoly on dissapointing seasons in 2008 (Tennessee, Aurburn, Wisconsin, Illinois, Clemson, Notre Dame.) It comes and goes in cycles. Penn State was down for a couple years and is now a factor again. You guys will be back, but for right now patience may have to be your best friend.
Although I think he will end up staying home at Minny, dont count PSU out of the discussion. They are on his short list. They will have plenty of vacancies to fill next year with their top 3 WR graduating, so plenty of PT possible. Hes visiting for the game against MSU, so he will experience the electric atmosphere as we will be hyped and playing for the conference title. Not saying State gets him, but hes not a Minny or Michigan lock by any stretch.
ayo dis bryce mcneal dude is aight. where was he at the u of m passing camp? i was thurr and i didnt see him. blake asmussen # 81 for anoka. check me ou
Good. lets see how that influences him. We don't need him, but it would be ncie to ahve him cosndiering he's a top 100 prospect. i'm still opissed he decommited. i hate it when recruits decommit. it makes me think 'fuck you! make up your mind!"
I remember seeing video of this guy going back a couple years and was absolutely stoked when I heard he was interested in The University of Colorado. We're going places and Bryce McNeal would be a HUGE pickup for us!
He probably decomitted after Ricardo Miller and Jeremy Jackson committed. He knew that they were legit top 5 prospects at their position and the only way he'd ever get any playing time is at some shitty program like Minnesota
Ya, we have a lot of sopmore and freshman wide receivers right now, this kid is a freakish athlete, and I would've loved if he would stay with Michigan, but I just feel like we have too many young wide receivers and a big 6-4 wide receiver like Jeremy Jackson is helpful for the Wolverines, and Ricardo Miller is legit, he will be a good one also.
Bryce, you'd be a hero if you stayed home to play for the U. You've seen what the Brew Crew has started here in Minny... Be a part of the momentum and be a Gopher! I'm a season ticket holder, and have supported this team through all the rough years... Things is changin' 'round here! GO GOPHERS!
let him go to minnesota he should start as a true freshman. michigan doesn't need him like minnesota . bryce got to minnesota where u wont play on national tv or get national exposure but impress your family and friends
actually Minnesota need him just as bad as Michigan. Michigan might need him more what is michigan's record 2-7 opposed to minnesota's 7-2 Minnesota is up and coming and would love to have Bryce McNeal and also Minnesota has had just as many nationally telivised games that year.
Uh-uh. We don't need McNeal. For 2009, we'll have Greg Mathews, Junior Hemingway, Toney Clemons, Darryl Stonum, Zion Babb, Lateryal Savoy, and Dewayne Peace at outside receiver, and Justin Feagin, Terrance Robinson, James Rogers, Martavious Odoms, Roy Roundtree, and Jeremy Gallon at slot receiver. We have frickin 13 scholarship receivers for 2009, and Mathews, Stonum, and Odoms are all returning starters (Stonum and Odoms might lose their jobs). We don't need McNeal at all
No offense Poole, but after watching Michigan's offense this season...you guys could use all the help you can get. Not that it matters. Do you honestly think he would go back to Michigan after decommitting and seeing the way they crapped the bed this year?
he never was 100 % committed will campbell is staying blue he just wants to experience the recruiting process since he loves to travel. let bryce go to minnesota they need him alot more then we do. nobody else will decommitt
Well, Anthony Fera just decommited. We are losin players left and right! It's startin to piss me off! Either play for us, or don't commit to us at all! These players need to make up their fucking minds, quit playin the mind games with the recruiting, especially with Michigan! We can't afford to lose an explosive player like McNeal! THOSE WHO STAY ARE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yea its ridiculous but im not tripping because will campbell will go to michigan and play with his teammates . I dont care about a kicker and rather have them decommit now then at the last minute . bryce mcneal wont play at michigan because ricardo miller and jeremy jackson is better . both probably 5 star players
Bryce!!! Take your visits, have a good time and PLEASE come back to MICHIGAN! You're the next Braylon Edwards and if you need me to go get the #4 jeresey from Brandon Minor for you, I'll do it. WE NEED YOU....COME BACK PLEASE!!
OK, we have a strength and conditioning coach named Mike Barwis that is considered to be the best in the nation and he'll easily get stronger and he's already got speed, which in a RR like spread offense, speed is pretty much all you need and I can clearly see that this guy can catch the ball. If he is so weak and bad, then why is he rated pretty high in the ESPNU 150 and the Rivals100?
Exactly, I mean, this guy's physicaly built to be in a heisman race possibly someday. He's 6-3, 180 lbs (he'll get in the wieht room and get more muscle and weight on him), already runs a 4.45 40-yard dash, and he runs good routes, makes plays after the catch, which is also important in a RR offense with all of those bubble screens to wide recievers, and he's got amazing hands to catch the football. And on top of all that, he's got class, hands the ball to re after a TD. Great player!
I would be willing to bet that this kid will make a mario manningham type impact by his sophomore year. Especially if tate gets settled into the starting job at QB. If mcguffie settles down and we build an OL then we can reclaim a top 25 spot, at least.
As much as I would love for this kid to play right away in his freshman year, we have quite a few wide recievers and none are senoirs, so I'm thinkin he may be redshirted. Which isn't bad, I mean, it's another year we have this guy and he's a goin to be a year better and still be a freshman!
Actually, Greg Mathews will be a senior in 2009. Ditto LaTerryal Savoy (although Savoy won't play regularly anyways). But you're right about McNeal redshirting. Michigan will have Mathews and Darryl Stonum starting on the outside. Martavious Odoms and Toney Clemons starting in the slot. zion Babb and Junior Hemingway are substituting at outsuide receiver. And Terrance Robinson and Feagin/Roudtree subbing in the slot. McNeal will be redshriting in 2009
I don't know. If Michigan keeps on playing like shit and if Minnesota keps on winning, this is a possibility. But my gut tells me McNeal is a Wolverine
McNeal will play if he can help them win. I could see him getting plays on the outside and in the slot. He's got great hands and quickness and is probably the best wr after the catch theyve recruited in 2 years. Those official visits hes taking scare me though. Oh and sorry calton11 but I don't think Minnesotas got a chance of stealing this kid. Floridas my only concern. Even though I dont see how anyone could play for that fag urban meyer.
Maybe. I just think Michigan is going to be too deep at WR for McNeal to get any immdiate playing time. Do you realize Michigan will have a whopping 14 scholarship receivers in 2009? They ususally only get 8 at the most. and not only that, but only 2 of those 14 scholarship receivers in 2009 (Greg Mathews, LaTerryal Savoy) will be seniors. I really don't think you'll see McNeal as a regular contributir until 2011 (his redshirt sophomore season). But i could be wrong
I love how he doesn't celebrate after TD's. He just hands the ball to the ref. Sign of a classy player. Look for him to wear #1 like the great UM receivers before him.
Ya, I completely agree with you. That's just a sign he'll be in the endzone A LOT throughout his career. And he definitley has the talent to recieve the #1 jersey.
Thats great! Rich Rod doesnt allow celebrating anyways so he should have no problem. Rodriguez brings discipline and a crazy weight training program that'll get them right for the NFL.
i think bryce should take a 5 star and shaquelle should take a 4 star. watching shaquelles videos dont impress me at all. bryce mcneal has excellent speed, routes, torque, and hands. he comes off the line like a cannon. hes gonna b another great WR at UofM
He's fast! I love fast players! Speed is what makes the spread offense so hard to defend. RR also recruits lots and lots of speed on defense also, therefore it sounds as if we'll be in the top 10, hell make that the top 5 basically every single year!
Don't worry about "blocking", you will flourish in Rich Rodriguez's spread offense. You have two great QB's coming in w/Newsome & Beaver. They're both "throw first, run second" QB's.
Bryce, congratulations on your picking Michigan. I know there are people here in SC that may not be pleased with you not picking Clemson, but as I say to other prospects, go to where you will be comfortable and happy playing. Hey, if you weren't going to feel comfortable at Clemson, then you made the right choice. I'm sure you will make an impact at one of the most successful programs in the country. Good luck.
Bryce has moves on moves, he can stop and go with the best of them, and he has great hands, IF you look close you will even see a 1 handed jumping catch ala CW.
Just a super player and young man from a very good family.
Bryce, I know that you are hearing from a lot of schools right now. As a resident of South Carolina, I see that you are going to visit Clemson. But my advice is this: don't let other people influence your decision. Go to where you will be comfortable and happy playing. I remember in the 80's when Ricky Foggie went to Minnesota. A lot of fans in SC were miffed, but hey, that's where he wanted to go. The same goes for you. Good luck.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Hes not going to the U, he doesnt want to waste his talent. He needs to join Jimmy at ND with Floyd, Kumara and Walker. Bad year last year, but too much talent coming in this year not to be good.
haha talk about wasting talent. Notre Dame is the University of wasting away talent as of late. All of these good recruiting classes and they have nothing but more L's than W's to show for it. Gophers got Moses Alipate a friend of Bryce's so that can't hurt in getting him to come to the U

Ya, plus we are goin to get better athletes because we are a better program than west virginia. I'm likein the future i see.

That kickoff return around the 4:30 mark was sick.
goblue918 3 years ago
He's fast! I love fast players! Speed is what makes the spread offense so hard to defend. RR also recruits lots and lots of speed on defense also, therefore it sounds as if we'll be in the top 10, hell make that the top 5 basically every single year!

Congrats on joining the Big Blue Bryce!
Don't worry about "blocking", you will flourish in Rich Rodriguez's spread offense. You have two great QB's coming in w/Newsome & Beaver. They're both "throw first, run second" QB's.
The Big House will roar when you score!
Welcome and GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck.

I don't think he's going to read that.

Bryce has moves on moves, he can stop and go with the best of them, and he has great hands, IF you look close you will even see a 1 handed jumping catch ala CW.
Just a super player and young man from a very good family.

What a very talented and highly skilled WR, very elusive!
You would be a big playmaker in Rich Rodriguez's offense, come to Ann Arbor Bryce, the Big House is chanting your name!
GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck.

go to Minnesota bro!!! We needa keep the talent home and the programs is turning around!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Hes not going to the U, he doesnt want to waste his talent. He needs to join Jimmy at ND with Floyd, Kumara and Walker. Bad year last year, but too much talent coming in this year not to be good.
mrjonsey 4 years ago
haha talk about wasting talent. Notre Dame is the University of wasting away talent as of late. All of these good recruiting classes and they have nothing but more L's than W's to show for it. Gophers got Moses Alipate a friend of Bryce's so that can't hurt in getting him to come to the U
Go Gophers
