Well, needless to say, Solti is not my favorite conductor, but the interpretation actually isn't that bad. The singers are incredible, and oh my god! The production is very close to how I would imagine it reading the score! For the production alone, this probably ranks as the best Bluebeard's castle on Youtube, and to make it better it has incredible singers, too!

I will take a very intelligent Hungarian conductor, known for having a great command of music and musical theater (opera) conducting this beautiful rich score by a fellow countryman, 'needles to say.' Yes, this is also one of the best recorded performances around, period!
