I think you're totally right. Amazing Race has probably been shot during Kevin's summer vacation (remember the Goodbye Internet video) so Kevin already knows if he has won the competition or not. Just a proof of that, Kevin made a cameo in the latest Ryan Higa video a few weeks ago. How could he be with Ryan and on the Amazing Race at the same time?

They have to view every frame for censoring and then hear every bit of audio also for censoring, and then they will start with the Picture-in-pictures (PIPs) and then decide which video from the camera is shown...

Semi-finalist interviews were held sometime in March 2010 and the final casting interviews took place in Los Angeles around March 2010.[7] From there, 11 teams were selected as contestants and filming took place around May to June 2010. Meaning everyone that was paying attention knew that he was in it around march.
