This amp absolutely fucking sucks, I have it. the clean channel is acceptable but the overdrive channel is absolutely fucking disgraceful, and the clean channel doesn't really take overdrive pedals very well, leaving you with a useless pile of shit.
heey peeps i wand your advice about this i planning to buy this amp the Marshall MG50 dfx and the ibanez rg350 dx wh is this a nice setup? if you have anny better advice please commend.
@multymetalnl my only advice is to grap ur guitar and go to a music store and try some amps. dont care about its brand. the only thing u should care is the sound. if it sounds great with ur stuff and u can pay the price buy it
@multymetalnl hi dude, i have this amp (marshall mg 50 dfx) and it sucks, it depends of what kind of music you whant to play, line 6 is a great option for all kinds of music, crate or peavey if you like metal, fender if you are looking for a great clean sound, the sound of this marshall if you want to play metal really sucks. i use this amp with a boss gt 8, but i dont like it, i recently bought a line 6 spider IV 150, and yeah man this is a great amp.
@restindream Imo if you are really promoting line 6 amps, you have no idea of what you are talking about. There is a reason why marshall is still the biggest name in amplification....
@jezus1989 hi dude, im not promoting line 6 amps, but marshall in the economic line of amps really suck. try by yourself diferent kind of amps and chosse the brand who is better for you
@jezus1989 hi dude, im not promoting line 6 amps, but marshal in the economic line of amps, really sucks, i play progresive metal like "animals as leaders" "dream theater, and a mesa boogie rectifier works for me, try by yourself different brands and different kind of amps, transistors, vulves etc., and dont pay attention to the publicity "marshall is the biggest name" FAKE, i mean orange, mesa boggie, have you tried this brands of amps????
@restindream@jezus1989 Yes i have, and to tell you the truth the dual rectifier is my dream & i also love orange amps, but like it or not marshall amps are still the best selling amps in the world & really are the Biggest name in amplification (i'm not saying they are the best amps in the world) i own a DSL & i'm semi happy with it,but when it comes to marshalls & line 6's i'll pick marshall any day.... i wasn't trying to hate on you or anything,i just really don't like digital amps,
@BlackMonk123 i think u can use it for playing in a band and on stage. its a very loud stuff sometimes its seems too loud for my neighbours :DDD (however i use it with very low voulume at home)
i bought a big muff pi usa, a dunlop crybaby and this amp sounds like hell with them... i love it! now i use this settings: gain: 6 bass:10 middle:6 treble:4 (this is the clean channel)
i have this amp and i love it! i play it with my epiphone LP standard and i get the best tones out of it. for an amazing clean tone (clean channel) gain:6, bass:8, middle:9, and treble:8 with FDD on. sounds great with a little big muff..
I've played this amp at my friend's house with my 1970's resissue mexican fender strat and it sounds FUCKING AMAZING would recommend it to anyone, i'm saving up money for it now. He has an Ibanez and it sounds great with that guitar too.
but if u want a nice full sound on clean channel, use single coil neck pickup, if u have, and set the gain to the maximum... a little bass, a lot middle and more treble than bass, but less than middle xD
i think it will works well with boss effects!
by the way i think it would sound crazy with anything:D when i made this record, it was new, i didn't know it well..by now it has killing sound and power...i love it:P i will record the whole song soon!
@polishskaterdude32 It's a good amp for any modeling type pedal because it has quite a flat hi-fi sound that doesn't add much character of it's own to your sound (if you're into that sort of thing... heheh)
I see that The MG series is still the same, dead tone, you get what you pay for I guess. I played a fender front man and a Roland cube that had more life in it than this crappy cardboard sounding amp.

@orlandoontiveros this is the clean channel, only the guitar and the amp, and in the second part i kicked on the choir effect (built in the amp)

I heard this amp likes to just drop the volume. Any problems on yours?

This has happened to mine but only ever once. My friend said that it is from the amp settings or something.
simonsheppard92 2 years ago
Is the amp still working for you? I found a good deal on one and I'm contemplating whether to buy it.
