RSPB have got the cuckoo on the Endangered list ...because if i ever get near the dam thing i will kill it hahahaahaha ... m8 over here in germany they start at 3 in the bastard morning :-) ..i am with ya on that lol
steve when you say chody rig is that just a helicopter rig with a d rig hooklink with a pop up .and can you just use a standad pop up rig or does the hooklink has to be bent ?and could you use a bottom bait on a helicopter rig ?cheers steve...
@kingo2oo6 yes:) my standard 'chod' rig also called the naked rig.
Thats 20lb X-line straight through, i 'pierce' two rubber beads onto the line and tread them on. set at anything from 'helicopter style' to 10 feet up the line. the hook link can be a 'withy style' short 2 inch hooklink to 12" of IQ or amnesia. I pierce another rubber bead on as a bottom stop and set that from 0-10 feet from the lead. You see it all depends on silt and weed depth ect
thanks for all your videos mate, after 6 years of living in mallorca with no carp fishing on the island u have inspired me to move back to the uk and start catching carp again, i noticed u use the trakker slx, any good? thanks for the inspiration mate
Brilliant, looks like a lovely lake, excellent blogging again mate. By the way, i agree about the sosage, skin on them always makes it annoying to cook 'em right. =-)
Hiya steve. Awesome blog once again ! I am buying a trakker lcg stove next week and was wondering what sort of life you get out of a standard gas cannister (obviously depending on useage ), but roughly. Tight lines ! =]
Alright me mucker, know what you mean about just being happy to be there, i got out on the bank for the first time since the big freeze the other day, blanked my arse off but it was nice just getting in tune with the lake again, any luck with you know what ? ;)
LMAO have you watched the bit back where you was talking about the cuckoo Steve? It mad you look like a proper mad man, it mad me laugh for a good 10 min. love it.
Hi Steve, hows it going fella? Great blog as usual quick question, what do you think of E.S.P bristle filament? I got some the other day but cant get on with the stuff.
are you doing much fishing at the moment? Most of my lakes are froze at the mo so not much doing hear.
I admire the way you move swims and go to the fish unlike most carpers who wait for the fish to come to them. Ive seen you do it a few times and its come good. Looking forward to the next one.

I have had the trakker for two years and it's done a lot of fishing so i would say it's not too bad for the dosh you spend.
Get one with a peak if you can though.
Happy hunting.

I use the ESP stiff rig in 25lb and yes it's a bugger to tie.
You will need a bigger eyed hook like a size 6 deceptor from gardner to get the line throught the eye twice for a d rig setup.
I was hoping to be showing you winter blogs but same as here.
All the lakes are frozen! and that is why your getting these abbey lake blogs.
Cheers fella
