  • why is everyoen "just" trying to "just" justify making a video ? Hey youtube it's just me trying to just make just one but just one video here to just show...

    Why ?

  • With the MHL setup you had here with the TV mouse and keyboard connected do you know if it is possible to send the audio over bluetooth too i.e. to bluetooth headphones?

I know that the phone won't let you send it over the 3.5mm socket with hdmi connected.

  • are you using the original samsung HDMI-MHL adapter?

I got a non-samsung adapter but I got some issues on video signal... the phone works pefect but sometimes the signal is lost on HDTV side. I tested with two different HDTVs with same result... so I'm suspecting about adapter quality

  • What type of cable did you use to connect both the keyboard/mouse and the HDMI?

    Thank you

  • @jpxdude omg, thank you very much! bluetooth keyboards are too much expensive in Brazil. Today I've found one that costs 300 dolars. This is the price of some cell phones... Thank you again, i'll definetely buy one.

  • The device you used to connect the flash drive can be used for a usb keyboard, for example?

  • @llpBR Yes, I've tried it and it works

  • @sntdavidsc I got the cover from eBay! It was very cheap, I think around 2-3 pounds. It came with a screen protector but I don't use it. Thankfully the SGS2 screen is naturally very good quality, I'm pretty rough with my phone and the screen is still perfect and unscathed.

  • @jpxdude do u remember the seller ;) ahaha sorry..

  • @sntdavidsc Hi there, the cover on my phone is actually a matte black soft touch hardcover. It looks blue in the video, because the lighting was poor lol. Here is the exact model and seller from where I bought the case: ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-HARD-ARMOUR-HYBRID-CASE-SCREEN-PROTECTOR-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S2-i9100-/160742578547?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item256d011973

  • @jpxdude thx

  • hello could you kindly tell me what was the brand of the blue bumper of the phone? and where can i buy it? - ahha sorry for this stupid question but i really like and i'm going to buy it -

  • Thank you! I have been tyring to figure out how to use mouse/keyboard with my S/sung phone! I will buy them today!

    Much appreciated!

  • BRONIES FOREVER!! brofist /)*(\ I saw TV PG v and i know you have MLP FIM videos in there HAHAHA XD. and then at 4:53 the PINKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Using Samsung galaxy SII like a BAWS

  • @Claudioman2009 LOL they are my wifes neko cats, we have several all over the place!

  • @jpxdude mm they look like pinki pie.. ¬¬ that´s supicious.. XD

  • So cool what about power recharging while using the hdmi cable ? If so I'll buy it

  • @valeriancafe Sorry about the late reply, I am using an MHL adapter, which when all plugged in also charges the phone. Newer HDTV's will only require a more simpler microUSB cable plugged straight into your set as the MHL standard takes off. I'd imagine that by doing this the phone should also be charged too.

  • @valeriancafe the HDMI-MHL adapter has a microusb connector for the battery charger :)

  • using skyfire as browser in a 1080p LCD is the best way :)

  • cool

  • Android 4 ever !

  • is this a rooted galaxy S2? is it the stock rom? Thanks! great vid!

  • @narmen1984 Hi there, this is stock 2.3.4 Gingerbread :)

  • i love that snes running mario in backround <3

  • very useful, thanks!

  • i love how you can hear someone playing super mario in the background

  • it it possible to power FROM a powered usb hub. that way you can plug in a external hdd and have a super mini htpc?

  • @hyphyazn510 theoretically it should be possible! I don't have powered up but might consider getting one to test at some point!

  • @jpxdude I'm just thinking about the same thing, it will be enough (for me) to play fullHD movie FROM usb flash drive THROW MHL adapter to TV, because I was reading about it and it looks like all MHL adapters have just power in micro USB, but data can't go throw, that means you have to use USB hub, but how to connect it?

Please can you try it? I will be waiting about month to shipping my own accesories and I'm very courious about it :-) thanks! (sry for my bad english)

  • @tomasyxyxyx anyone have tryed wht you say?? a friend of mine has a S2 and wants to know if you can open a external drive or at least a pendrive and see movies

  • @Claudioman2009 As long as there is enough power, this should be possible, I've yet to get a powered USB hub to try this out...

  • Ok thank you !! But what do you think is this mode better and faster with galaxy s2 ?? Because my sister have sgs2 and i have evo 3d

  • @DerWaschEchteKiller you may want to check this out: youtube.com/watch?v=OFSP6J66Uhk the SGS2 is essentially very similar quality through MHL.

  • Can i do the same with my htc evo 3d ?? Mhl and bluetooth mouse and keyboard?? Can you do a video??

  • @DerWaschEchteKiller Yes you can do the same thing with the HTC Evo 3D, as it supports the MHL standard, and the bluetooth is similar. Unfortunately I do not have this phone so cannot make a video for you :(

  • can i use anu adapter which has the same port > or its only otg ?

  • @ss7vt I got my OTG adapter from ebay! I think it doesn't matter about the brand, if it has the same port, it should (hopefully) be supported. The MHL adapter I got was an official Samsung one though.

  • lol when you where saying which game should i choose i was shouting ANGRY BIRDS! lol

  • Thanks for posting this video really helpful appreciate the effot

  • will this worke on any device or just on samsung galaxy s2. I have the nexus s and i want to know if it will work.

  • @mario0007100 As far as I know, this should work on Nexus S, too! A great forum to check out for help with this is the XDA forum

  • what did you use to get the flash drive working on youre phone?

  • @mario0007100 the flash drive automatically works when you plug in the USB-OTG adapter. you should do this before plugging in a flash disk. Also the adapter works only on very low powered usb devices, you'll find that hard drives for the most part wont work.

  • @mario0007100 It is very picky with flash drives, as it seems to only support very low powered devices. If you want to use any portable hard drives, even though they might be bus powered on a laptop, you need to get a splitter cable to give the drive more power, as it seems the GS2 can't handle it...

  • wow very nice thanks dude its work but i put mine on pico projector not on tv work pefectly its look a like computer home edition :) complete have a keyborad mouse pico projector as monitor and samsung galaxy s2 as cpu :)

  • i have the galaxy s i9000 (the first one) and i wondered if i could connect a keyboard to it, the idea being it would be nice to be able to do work on it using my office style applications, thanks

  • Too much Camera shake!! :/

  • @k1ll3rfr3ak2 Sorry :( I will not drink caffeine before filming next time!

  • So i've been trying to connect my apple bluetooth keyboard to my new galaxy s2, but it won't find the device... My old galaxy s has no trouble connecting to the device, any pointers?

  • @hckia Make sure the Apple Keyboard isn't paired with anything else, so any anything you paired it with in the past, such as your Galaxy S, go to it's bluetooth settings, and then 'remove' or 'forget pairing'. This should free up the Apple wireless to pair with something else, as it will automatically link with anything that it has a pairing with as soon as a key is pressed...it can be quite annoying!

  • @jpxdude got it to pair, thank you! Do you know how to make the return key function like enter? For some reason it is not allowing me to hit enter and go to the "next line" on my google doc/microsoft word mock apps.

    thanks for your help

  • great demo!!! but does it have to be a samsung tv to do that???????

  • @TheGrandmasterxxx No it can work on any HDMI capable television...

  • very great demo!! thanks mate =)

  • @bluemercure Thanks mate!

  • Nice

  • @bedevere007 Cheers!

  • This is not a knock by any means, but you kinda sound like Mickey Smith from "Doctor Who" (2005 series). Awesome!

  • keyboard and mouse model??

  • @kimichiren Standard Apple Bluetooth Wireless keyboard...I got it in 2010, but I think they sell them as only one variant??? The bluetooth mouse is a cheap one from the 7day shop websitem, although it doesn't seem to be for sale anymore :( Any wireless bluetooth mouse should work... sorry!

  • @jpxdude I also have a SGS2 and I can't connect a Bluetooth mouse! Tried with 2 different models and it just don't recognize them... one has the "dongle" or something like that and the other one it's from HP... any ideas? could you be more specific whith the mouse model please?

  • @saitam9112 Hi there, my bluetooth mouse was a very cheap model from the 7dayshop, but it seems they do not have it for sale anymore. Most bluetooth mice should work fine, what happens when you try to pair it, do you see the mouse device name appear on the sgs2 screen??

  • @jpxdude Hello dude! thanks for the response! turns out I was using another kind of mouse... 2,4ghz or something like that, and obviously it's not bluetooth... almost every mouse in the market use this tecnology... anyway, I'll try to get BT one... thanks again!

  • just gotta love android :D how about some FPS gaming ? :D

  • Do you have epilepsy or something? o_O

  • Buy a tripod!!!! haha, God review,

  • No Apps, everything stock! :)

  • Thanks bro, I have been asking all over for someone to confirm if an APPLE B/T Keyboard and Mouse could be paired at the same time. Just to confirm, you did not need to download an app for that it works stock?

  • @Dantbs no apps, everything stock! :)

  • LOL i can hear mario bros 3 x)

  • @krizald19 lol, you have excellent hearing! My wife was playing SMB3 on the Wii in the other room :)

  • Comment removed

  • Hey are you having issues with your bluetooth keyboard? Mine is also hooked to my monitor and is paired w/ 2 bluetooth keyboards (a iGO Slim Stowaway keyboard and a new Logitech Android 3.0+ keyboard.) Both have issues with the S II and only the S II. It would repeat keys and sometimes repeat still even after i shut off the keyboard. Another issue is when I hold SHIFT to capitalize the first letter of a word, the following words also appear in caps after I let go of SHIFT. W7 PC & HTC Wing - ok.

  • @Txb0024 I'm wondering if you get this issue with even just one keyboard connected? From my quick setup above, I am not experiencing any of these issues on my SGS2...

  • can u do any of that with an orginal Samsung Galaxy S?

  • @eggfromsywell AFAIK I don't think the original Galaxy S has MHL capability or OTG...

  • So you can put a regular flash drive in the adaptor thing you used for playing the ThunderCats?

  • @LoveLiveLifeUnique Yes you can! :) There are some caveats with this though, which is that the flash drive needs to be formatted to Fat32, and it has to be either a low powered disk, or plugged through a powered hub. Powered disks and devices don't work :( For example, I haven't been able to get a USB laptop drive to work on it yet as it complains that it is a high powered device...

  • Good vid, but next time less camera shaking please

  • @P4i3r haha thanks for that, and sorry for the shaking! I had a few coffee's before making this video :-/

  • @jpxdude don't worry :)

  • Ive got this phone as well thinking of getting all this . Question is when you're connected to your tv running all these things does it get hot ?

    Thanks

  • @mehulshukla04 Hi there, from my experience of trialling this out, I haven't noticed the phone get hot, it seems to fly through with ease. I've only felt it get hot running some games like Asphalt 6. Also, recently tested the DLNA capabilities of this to my PS3, and I'm VERY surprised at how good it is! It can do 1080p videos butttery smooth straight over wireless.

  • I was looking for this video from someone for a long time. I thought we can do big screen browsing connected bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Thanks for the wonderful demo.

    Great job!!!!

  • Does Opera or Dolphin HD run in a higher resolution than the standard browser on the TV?

  • @grahammiddleton AFAIK the higher resolution only kicks in when the built in video player is invoked. I doubt it will work from any other browsers downloaded from the Market, but I will check this out soon.

  • You did / showed what exactly i am going to do with my s ii, awesome

  • This is basically a computer..

  • @HaloHamstur yes essentially it can act like a computer! I'm excited for when Chrome will appear on it as Google announced it would be coming to Android soon! :-)

  • @jpxdude I am waiting for it to come out in US theres so many features already that i didn't know about its amazing thanks for your video!

  • Thanks :)

  • will any bluetooth keyboard/mini-keyboard work with the S2?

  • @gordof1991 As long as the keyboard you use supports the HID profile and doesnt require any additional software, it should work fine!

  • hi, i want to buy the GS2, but i´d like to know if there are any problem whit this cell, can you tell me about this? thanks. (y)

  • @elrede1 I've had the phone now for about 2 weeks, and I love it! It works well, but from my personal experiences, I have found that on my screen the left side is slightly darker than the right (which is only apparent when the brightness is completely off). Other than that the phone is great. I'm also told that the issue with the screen will be fixed with newer firmware, it seems to affect most SGS2 phones.

  • @elrede1 Also one more thing...The battery life lasts about 1 day on heavy use, and a bit longer on moderate and light use. If you get a piece of software called Watchdog Task Manager Pro, you can blacklist programs from running which will make the battery last even longer. I've found that since I've had the phone, the battery life has got better! I think this is also because it takes a while for the battery to calibrate and settle properly.

  • @oneill366 yes any Bluetooth mouse should work and doesn't require the OTG cable. I only use an OTG cable for flash disks.

  • do any bluetooth mouse will work with samsung galaxy s2 with no OTG cable?

  • Does the hdmi work with any HDTV?

  • @11m0 Hi there, as far as I know it should work on any HDTV. The TV I have is a Samsung LE40A656 (series 6) from a few years back.
