in michigan theres only 1 lake you can legaly fish sturgeon, and only 10 licences a year are sold... not to mention the whole season lasts about a half hour...

are you allowed to keep the sturgeon when you catch them? i live in south carolina and am curious about this sort of fishing, i fish for catfish and bass and would one day like to fish for sturgeon, providing that you can keep them
yes you can keep them but they have to be between 42 and 60 inches. We fish on the Columbia in Oregon and right now we can keep them 7 days a week, but only 1 a day, and 5 a year. this year we are limited out. We love taking people who have never seen such a thing. The look is priceless!!!
No they are bottom feeders, they have suckers instead of jaws. They have very dangerous spines up and down their backs and sides though so they can be a potential danger.

Thats a great sturgeon! I have caught a 48 incher one time, my family's top record was 56' though.
