hey, I guess the bear was a bit scared when it noticed my dad suddenly so close to him so i guess the bear wanted to scare him and leave but if it hadnt been for that tree my dad jumped behind the story might be a bit different :) my dad says its his own fault but he also feel perfectly safe somehow. hes been in the forrest since ive lived and thats 27 years ago going strong :)

The dog is a Norsk Elghund, but the breed name was incompetently translated as "Norwegian elkhound". Problem is, elghund is Norwegian for "moose dog". They don't look like a hound, they don't move like a hound, and they don't hunt like a hound. at least they got the "Norwegian" part right. They don't even have what Americans call "elk" in Norway.

They're great dogs, but do your homework before you decide on one. They ain't golden retrievers, y'know.
