jesus. Thom always amazes. i don't know why i'm surprised. What an amazing version of a great song...didnt expect it to lead into everything in its right place. Unbelievable.
This was only about a couple of weeks after I saw them in New York that year. It was the best Radiohead concert I've been to (out of seven altogether). However if they played this it would have been the best night of my life.
This song was featured in Meeting People Is Easy which was during the OK Computer era. It would seem odd if, after all this time, they decided to put it on an album. Just my opinion. I sure as hell wouldn't be complaining if they decided to rework it or something and put it on there
@MyBeardisGood not really...nude came from around then & they finally recorded it in studio. just may take time to become satisfied w/ a studio version. crossing fingers it will happen eventually. preferably as the last song of their last album.
@r1vers IT would still seem odd to me. This song is pretty complete; they have been playing it the same way for a while were Nude kind of evolved slowly over time. That just how i see it. I sure as hell would be complaining if it did happen haha
@MyBeardisGood good point...and thinking about it actually, a line like did you lie to us tony would be pretty odd being put on record at this point..
spine tingling good, fcukin amazing intro to yet another amazing track. hard to beat the live piano version of spinning plates though, seeing/hearing that live was so unexpected and mind blowing.
This is pure brilliance. I loved this song the moment i heard it on the earls court bootleg, but this is so breathtakingly beautiful, words can't describe. I wish they would just record it like this, all ambient and shit, it would really do the song justice. And I think it sounds much much better in the key of C here than in the key of D on the acoustic
I want both Big Boots and This to be released about equally as much... I will say I prefer the acoustic version on Meeting People Is Easy though... The clang of his acoustic in it is BRILLIANT! But I do like his vocals on this... It's cool as an intro to Everything In It's Right Place though...
This is the only song (this version of it, especially) that nearly makes me cry every time i hear it. absolutely perfect, if this song doesn't find a final version at some point i'll be very disappointed.
Yes! I remember on the whole drive to the concert from San Diego, this song was going through my head. When they played it, I was so happy. They can read minds, I swear. :P
His idea of singing obscure songs from their catalogue during the intro to Everything In Its Right Place was just awesome. In some other gig, he did the same with True Love Waits.
i wish Radiohead would just put there best songs on this album, now i have only been a fan for 2 years or so and i appears to me they just act all weird and artistic for the sake of looking all weird and artistic. maybe i missed something, it frustrates me big time, they have another classic album in them, they just dont seem to want to release it.
I LOVE true love waits but I hope they dont put it on lp7 because they've already put an amazing live version on "I might be wrong" and I'd prefer to hear a new tune but "follow me around" meeting people is easy version- YES PLEASE! :)
I hope they put this, 'True Love Waits' and 'I Want None of This' on the new album, cause together with the other new songs, it would then be a stonker of a new album - one of their greatest, and one of the greatest ever since OK Computer & The bends have been voted in top 10 of all time b4 now!
Wow. The reverb on his voice is incredible, and fits the theme of the song perfectly. Please be on the album, please be on the album, please be on the album, till infinity.
This version is incredible.
