I don't use a weapon other than my camera. For many years I used one that needed you to drill one right into the forehead or it would focus elsewhere.
If I was to carry a weapon that shot bullets I would be at that range until I shot 98 out of 98. The bad guys don't get to go to the range, the cops do but they don't.
Cops may shoot 93 out of 98 but that's a paper target that doesn't shoot back

Ive had bad experiences with FDNY and my local FD regarding 911 calls, but dont judge every FF because of it. You couldnt do half of the things the NYPD OR FDNY have to do, so you're way worse than either one. In the summer of 2005, the Supreme Court ruled that it is not a police officers' job to respond to calls because they are not Constitutionally obligated to do so. Such a ruling was made after an incident in Colorado where the police failed to respond to a call regarding a kidnapping.

There are no BOGUS procedures, as every police procedure is approved by the United States Secret Service, in accordance with law. And no, there are no consequences on the local level. Doesn't mean they don't have contracts with the municipalities that were broken. I don't know who argued the case but the reason you pay taxes is for police salaries which is a contract for services.

Contracts have nothing to do with this. Municipal Departments usually dont even have contracts. And all a contract means is that the Department will work in that area; it says nothing of an individual officer responding to calls. Also, one major deciding factor in this ruling was that, a study found that-at the time- there were only about 300,000 beat officers out there, so saying they must respond to every call is simply impossible.

I've never had a bad time with FDNY except for maybe 5 times in a 30 year career, and most of those were excusable.
To go outside my house is to see the inefficiency of the NYPD constantly and always.
We have cops stationed in far away places duplicating the work of the FBI, but you can't leave a bike on the street without 3 locks, one for each wheel and the seat.
The burglar I caught, the NYPD blew that. They all ran to the back and I had to force one to stay in front in case he ran out.

Besides, there are more officers with NYPD then there are firefighters w/ FDNY. They respond to more calls and operate on much higher stress levels. They are bound to mess up more. Also, the NYPD lowered murder rates by over 60% since the 90s. And in a city of over 8 million and only 40k cops, I would guess one might need to make sure their bike is extra secured. At least they dont let people like you drive.

I just got a letter thanking me catching a wanted burglar from the Queens DA.
I got a shot of him with his hands in a neighbors window. He got 10 months because of me. The NYPD wanted him so bad they had fliers posted.
And when they responded, they were as stupid and nasty as they could be, as usual.
All 6 responding made a whole bunch of noise so he was able to hear them and get away from the window.

First, crime-fighting strategies and LEO training are entirely different. (If you knew police procedure at all, you would know this). And yes, In 1991, the CPD adopted NYPDs crime-fighting strategies, as did LAPD in 1990, and in 2004, my dept did too, as did pretty much every dept. out there. Since these depts did this, the murder rates in the average city, that did so, dropped by about 60%. Do you do any thinking before you post random statements that sound right to you?

chicago cops are nice because i met alot of them and all our nice i met but cops do have a difficult job and some are pissed because full time is 8 hours a day 5 days a week and they get paid less than my moms job and shes a secretary for a psychiatrist but her job is hard because she has to talk to people who are committing suicide and cops do that and much worse stuff each day.(no offense mom)listen to this, chicago police officers get paid 43,000 for 18 months ONLY!that is bullcrap we should

This is incorrect information. The salaries are comparable. In fact the police contract is always negotiated and signed before CFD's.Then CFD has a me too clause in their contract that negotiates a mirrow of salary step raises based on senority and rank equal to CPD'S senority and rank.

the officers were rude but it matters if they had their lights and sirens then the oldsmobile should've pulled over but they shouldn't drive on a one way street and where are other officers like the liuetenant or cfdm causer there might have been a gas leak, you never know.
