Italy was in fact part of the Centre forces!!! In theory, Italy should have joined in the sides of these two nations when war broke out in August 1914. She did not. Italy's experience in World War One was disastrous and ended with the insult of her 'reward' at the Versailles Settlement in 1919.
What Italy did was wait and see how the war progressed. On April 26th 1915, she came into the war on the side of the Triple Entente – Britain, France and Russia.
An interesting fact is that Germany's schlieffen plan said it would've conquered France and then send those squads into Russia, but Russia actually lose the battles at the Eastern front.
@trppmdm The Schlieffen Plan was changed in about 1908, after Schlieffen himself died. If the German's had attacked as origionally planned then they would have got a lot further into Germany than they did.
The last part isn't entirely true, but the entry of the USA sped up the German surrender. It's a German tradition to go on fighting long after the war is lost. In late 1943 in WW2 many German generals knew the war was lost and tactical retreat from the USSR or an armistice could save many German lives. Hitler wanted none of it,so many swore to fight for him until the very end. A few tried to assassinate him in 1943 already. Also, White Rose movement of students in '43
Now what has this WW2 example to do with WW1 you may wonder. Well, the German historian Fritz Fischer claims the same Prussian military ideals of blood and honour were true in WW1, which is why Germany thought they could win the war in the long run, when the opposite was true from late 1916 onwards. The fact is the Entente had the tactical advantage and the Royal Navy maintained the naval blockade of Germany from 1916. Germany was getting starved into submission.
When Germany heard of the entry of the USA in late 1917 they knew they had little time left to try and win the war. Most Americans don't know that the American troops only arrived in significant numbers by the summer of 1918 at what point the German Spring Offensive already had been stopped. This German Spring Offensive of 1918 was a last desparate gamble to win the war before new American troops made the war completely impossible to win (it already was practically).
The Spring offensive of 1918 was mostly stopped by the French and two very brave Australian divisions that singlehandedly stopped several German breakthroughs. There were few American divisions in France at the time. After the failed offensive/gamble Germany was screwed with or without the American entry in the war. The German homefront was on the verge of a revolution similar to that in Imperial Russia.
The armistice spared Germany from total humiliation in 1919.

Britain doesn't really have many enemies who could threaten us, but our military is decent because America forces us to fight with them against an enemy that THEY made. I am liberal too btw.

@fallentear9 Canada entered the war before the united states, they were involved in almost every majour battle that took place. The U.S joined towards the end when the enemy was in retreat / on the defensive. When everyone failed to take vimy ridge Canada managed to take it. Canadians also invented one of the most important pieces of equipment in the war... The gas mask. Not to mention the variable pitch propeller.

Italy was in fact part of the Centre forces!!! In theory, Italy should have joined in the sides of these two nations when war broke out in August 1914. She did not. Italy's experience in World War One was disastrous and ended with the insult of her 'reward' at the Versailles Settlement in 1919.
What Italy did was wait and see how the war progressed. On April 26th 1915, she came into the war on the side of the Triple Entente – Britain, France and Russia.

The last part isn't entirely true, but the entry of the USA sped up the German surrender. It's a German tradition to go on fighting long after the war is lost. In late 1943 in WW2 many German generals knew the war was lost and tactical retreat from the USSR or an armistice could save many German lives. Hitler wanted none of it,so many swore to fight for him until the very end. A few tried to assassinate him in 1943 already. Also, White Rose movement of students in '43

Now what has this WW2 example to do with WW1 you may wonder. Well, the German historian Fritz Fischer claims the same Prussian military ideals of blood and honour were true in WW1, which is why Germany thought they could win the war in the long run, when the opposite was true from late 1916 onwards. The fact is the Entente had the tactical advantage and the Royal Navy maintained the naval blockade of Germany from 1916. Germany was getting starved into submission.

When Germany heard of the entry of the USA in late 1917 they knew they had little time left to try and win the war. Most Americans don't know that the American troops only arrived in significant numbers by the summer of 1918 at what point the German Spring Offensive already had been stopped. This German Spring Offensive of 1918 was a last desparate gamble to win the war before new American troops made the war completely impossible to win (it already was practically).

The Spring offensive of 1918 was mostly stopped by the French and two very brave Australian divisions that singlehandedly stopped several German breakthroughs. There were few American divisions in France at the time. After the failed offensive/gamble Germany was screwed with or without the American entry in the war. The German homefront was on the verge of a revolution similar to that in Imperial Russia.
The armistice spared Germany from total humiliation in 1919.

No, American participated because of the large amount of money and supplies we lent to the Allies. After it began to look like Germany might win the war, America joined in because if the Allies lost...France and Britian would not be able to repay the loans given to them by American. And in my opinion, if it wasnt for the large influx of American troops to relieve the tired British and French soldiers, Germany would of won. Around the same time that American joined, Russia had surrendered to Germany. This allowed for all the troops fighting the Russians on the eastern front to move to the western front.

Even taking in account that 90% of the german forces were already on the western front , yes most of the troops on eastern front were austrians , but you seem to forget that France didn't use her colonies , this is the main reason Germany signed the armistice , they learned that France was going to call over 5 millions soldiers fron her colonies .

Americans sympathized with Germany at the beginning of war (just check it). This changed because jews with hard media brainwashing, in exchange to Palestine from England.
