Kashmir has for decades been a conflict zone at two and a half ends (Indo-Pak bitterness now fueled by aksai chin). Congress rule has never really been able to live up to expectations. This incident has underlined the fact that the so called Kashmir problem is nothing but pure Islamic religious fundamentalism supported by elements that want to destabilize India from across the border.Unlike in POK Jammu and Kashmir is ruled by a democratic government elected by the people with a voter turn out of 68% the highest voter turnout any where in the world.no body has any right to take law into there hands that too against a democratically elected government.

Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh (who was later arrested for the murder of Daniel Pearl) and Maulana Masood Azhar were not killed in indian prisons but had to be released due to plane hijack. shud have killed caz he later founded Jaish-e-Mohammed.

I live in Kashmir and I have yet to find one person wanting anything to do with Pakistan rule. Get it through your thick heads, Azaadi means FREEDOM, not only from India, but from Pak or anyone else. Independence. Good grief, I'd think Indians would know better than anyone else what independence means! Especially today! Further, this is NOT about Muslim vs. Hindu or Sikh or Christian or Buddhist or whatever else. I know a lot of Kashmiri Sikhs and Hindus crying for freedom just as loudly!

@kjgmn10 Dear friend I am a person who have spend many years in Kashmir teaching in various madarassas.I can categorically tell you that Kashmirs are more Indians than any other Indians more than 95% of Kashmirs not only are proud they are Indians but also wants the GOI to recapture POK and make it part of India.All these issues are created by a group of fundamentalists with support from Pakistan..I have not heard any non muslim supporting this in fact they want all special powers to withdrawn

Nice speech. But there are law abiding Muslims citizens throughout India living happily i see no reason why this cant happen in Kashmir, perhaps Kashmiri people are misled by power hungry political forces for their small time gains.
I think its time for India to get rid of this hatred filled state once and for all & look forward towards progress

Kashmir being integral part of India, all these people should go to POK and practice their rights freely there.

If Kashmir is the integral Part of India then why this special treatment for Kashmiri people. Nowhere in India is AFSPA, Catch & Kill, POTA, Makokka imposed even not for Naxls. Then why for kashmiris.
Its easy to comment when u are far from the situation.
I live in Kashmir, Upto this time I had lost Much more, Still I say I am a pro Indian, But The hatred by BJP, RSS, Bajrang Dal against muslim is well known but what for them not even a single bullet for them.

dear friend POTA is not applicable in Kashmir. MACOCA is applicable only in Maharashtra.MACOCA is applied on many Hindu leaders also.AFSPA does not allow armed forces to kill anyone they like.I am sure that you have not seen a copy of AFSPA in your life.If spreading religious hatred should be killed then 90% of muslims in the world should be killed.As you rightly said the biggest blunder we did was to give special powers to Kashmir

I aint no professional mind Or in Kashmir BUT here are my 2 cents from what i know...
Kashmir has for decades been a conflict zone at two and a half ends (Indo-Pak bitterness now fueled by aksai chin). Congress rule has never really been able to live up to expectations. I wish you Kashmiri people good luck for resolving this matter with no bloodshed. Just watch out for corrupt political & power hungry leaders and their misdirections on Kashmiri people in your state.
