I don't care what race she is. She's just not good at her job. She brings her race into the courtroom and uses it as a tool for ruling on cases. The white firefighters is just the biggest and most damaging but if you take the time to look through her cases, especially the 3 over turned by the Supreme Court, you'll see it's not just an isolated case in her career.

Angryseraph - EMPATHY has no place in the law. You can have empathy for someone while still being legally bound to rule against them. She had NO empathy for the fact that the white firefighters were discriminated against and she upheld that discrimination. Hm...go figure.

Your facts are incorrect, go research things instead of listening to talk radio. When she is confirmed she will be one of the most well rounded Justices on the bench and actually deserve to be there.

No. My facts are NOT incorrect. She wrote (according to Newsweek - a liberal rag for your benefit), she was overturned 3 out of 5 times when her opinions were reviewed by the supreme court - a 60% reversal rate. But newsweek likes to mislead and instead focus on the reversal rate of TOTAL opinions she'd written (3 out of 232) which is 1.3%. I was going to use the Washington Times article but thought you'd shoot it down as being too conservative. But THAT article said she wrote 380 opinions.

I love how Republicans don't even know what the word "empathy" means. "Empathy" and "sympathy" are two ENTIRELY different words. Morons. Sotomayor is a 17 year public servant, a self-made woman. Also, this thing about her rulings constantly being overturned is a lie. She's been overturned less than 2% of the time. Look it up.

Angry before you criticize, check your own weak facts. "Constantly overturned" refers to her findings in the 2nd Circuit CtAppls, where over 1/2 of the decisions she was involved with were either overturned outright or agreed with for different reasons by the Supreme Court. Your figure of less than 2% considers every mundane decision she made since her appointment to the federal court, and is a complete distortion of the argument as stated.
