Leona Lewis is a good singer but this song does NOT suit her voice under any means. All the ladies are special and unique in their own way but Leona Lewis should NOT sing this classic song because it's not her and her voice is really slow and has an annoying continual vibrato to it, this throws the notes all off key and makes it sound like she's gargling with water or something!

I won't deny that charice is amazing in her own right too, but this song... leona nails it. period. sure, high notes may be important in good singing, but there's so much more...

Leona might not be the most powerful vocalist but her voice IS distinct, and it has a lovely quality to it. Sometimes I do prefer listening to pretty voices, sometimes I prefer raw Charice Pempengco power voices.
Leona Lewis has the Amazing Unique tone and that Super Headvoice. Charice will never have the voice which Leona Lewis posseses. She just roars on the mics unleashing her power. Leona however saves the power for the climax of her songs. And when she feels like it just flows into the falsetoo making it look so easy. Charice is great at the song, but Leona Lewis is a world class diva.

I've never heard Charice sustain Ebs or C6s without dropping into a falsetto. Charice sings better in the lower register and Leona high. Both have tremendous range, so it comes down to taste in voice. I like Leona's unique clear angelic, yet powerful voice over Charice's raw power with Xtina like acrobatics.

@rey012 well Charice has a very common voice over here and she's just an imitator anyway. I read that she can apparantly 'imitate' Whitney's voice. Well then if thats imitating then she obviously isnt as talented as people think. And no it didnt give me goosebumps sadly :). So if Leona lewis is so common please feel free to show me many filipino artists who can sing octave notes like her :D good luck with that!

And at 2:30 Leona sings an Octave note, which only very few artists can do, one being Mariah Carey. So when Charice does Octave notes which she cant, then come back and say what you want :)

She's the best. better than mariah or whitney. Celine is somewhere in the top 50 so i won't bother about her. Charice has a big powerful voice but very uncontrolled and raw when she goes high, like she's shouting because she still want to show a big voice.but that make's it shouting and not singing.

place this into context to all critics. imagine singing on amateur level, not really being aware of your full potential. then this talentshow comes along, pre-produced or not, and you get real recognition and slowly start sensing the real potential you have. this is what touches me about this performance. it isn't flawless, but the rough diamond starts to shine here, especially when she lets it rip in the end.
