  • @JenniferCalzado Absolutely. The name is "My Favorite Broadway: The Love Songs." :)

  • eventhough julie has lost her beautiful voice, i swear i could hear it as clearly as in the old days when the band started to play i could have danced all night! just love her so much :)

  • who in hell disliked this?

  • i love this clip, but i really wanted to cry when the orchestra started playing I could Have Danced All Night, because Julie can't sing that song nowadays :(

  • So many tears! It just made my year!

  • Julie looks better than all of the young girls...

  • I love how Andrews just steals the stage from anyone. She makes Crawford look second rate. This woman just drips charisma.

  • The most fantastic woman on Earth, a wonderful actress and singer

    Julie Andrews, is a MIRACLE!

    I love it! :)

  • Too bad, I think Rex Harrison could never be replaced as Professor Higgins,

    Nevertheless, Michael Crawford sang great.

  • i love michael crawford in hello dolly though..

  • beautiful!! and OMG BRENT SPINER!!

  • is this before or after she had the surgery? god i almost cry when Mrs Julie start to sing

  • @TheAndy1412 This was AFTER she had the surgery!

  • Although Crawford has a nice voice, Harrison had the attitude and was a far better actor. Must admit I do prefer Audrey Hepburn to Julie Andrews in this role.

  • whoever disliked this missed the like button because they were crying so hard the couldn't tell the difference! absolutely wonderful, the two most all around gorgeous people in the business/in life.

  • Gotta love some chiffon ona dress

  • God shes a master!

  • She is fantastic !!!!!!!!!

  • elle danse trop bien

  • When could we get the dvd ?

  • Love this clip!!

  • He is good but not a patch on Harrison

  • @leporello56 Even though Harrison was not a singer, I completely agree. Harrison just had something in his voice. The song is supposed to be spoken rather than sung, Higgins is an emotionless character.

  • She is Eliza and THE legend of Broadway, even if she lost her voice. I really can understnd why the audince erupted with loud cheers and standing ovations.

  • I broke out crying. I love you Julie.

  • I think michael crawford would play a perfect professor henry higgins!! but the both of them are AWESOME!!! :D

  • 2:40 - 2:25 Wonderful Posture!!! Julie is Evergreen! "My fair lady"Nerver never gone !

  • GO MICHAEL! YOUR AMAZING AND DELICIOUS! We need you back on a stage performing soon!

  • Wow. I knew she had the surgery, but I wasn't aware that it was before this concert. Thanks =]

  • GO JULIE!!!

  • I don't get it... why is The Rain in Spain such a big deal??? Like I'm not that familiar with My Fair Lady, so I don't know what the big fuss is. I'm not saying I don't like it, only that I don't know a lot but everyone is like OMG I LOVE MY FAIR LADY!!! Would someone care to explain? That would be very much appreciated!!! :-)

  • Well, deary, Julie just had her surgery before this special was done. And the surgery sort of deteriorated her so high singing voice. She said she couldn't sing the way she used to after the surgery. And when she sang "the rain in spain" here, people were actually cheering because she sang after saying she couldn't sing anymore, because of the surgery!

  • Julie lost her singing voice (her identity) for good after the notorious throat surgery in 1997. She moved everybody to tears in this medley NOT because of My Fair Lady, but because she showed her strength and grace for forever rising above adversity. If you want to know more about Juile and the tragedy, you can click to Barbara Walter clips "Julie talking about her voice".

  • Now you know why the audience erupted and why i sob like a moron every time i view this!!! ;o)))

  • Damn right !

  • @cazziekins I swear Michaels about to sob too.

  • @carly3592 It's a film that you don't "get" until you're older. I really don't know how to explain it in any other way except that. I once felt the same way, I have been watching this film since I was 14 and I never understood it until I was in my early 20s. I also hated the music except for "I could have danced all night" now I love all of the songs except that one.

  • PHANTOM and Christine~

  • Micheal and Julie look very young!!

  • Michael and Julie are AMAZING

  • Hearing Michael sing again makes me cry. I miss seeing this on a stage. Hopefully he will return soon!!! Michael is the most gorgeous man. I love him as a singer, actor and a human!!! He does so much for people, and especially children, around the world. I bought this DVD just for this performance.

  • OMG! Seeing Julie singing again brought me to tears! Thanks so much for posting!!

  • Julie is the most beautiful woman!!!

I love her as a singer an actress and a human!!! <3

  • I agree! Me too!

  • Thanks for this video. It's so touching. Makes me happy when Julie sing again. I missed her voice too.

  • Michael is perfect to this role....

  • Well, watching Julie singing again is, at least, amazing!

I bought this DVD also just because of this scene and I cry avery time I see it.

  • OMg, the first time I saw this (when it first came out) I cried! I missed her voice!

  • Cont'd...Why isn't Michael Crawford a "Sir" by now! What is wrong with the Queen!

  • I agree Bric. Michael Crawford did an amazing job for someone who had to jump in last minute. They should have asked Michael in the first place. He makes a wonderful Henry Higgins and the man is sooooooooo attractive and charming. I love Michael and Julie. Two great talents of the stage and screen together. Why oh why doesn't some smart producer get these two together for another project. Thay make a great team and obviously had a wonderful time working with each other.

  • @colinmcphan The film was made in 1964...

Or do you mean the atrocious remake that will be coming up?

  • I bought this dvd a long time ago... only because of this scene, and I kept watching it over and over again

  • Me too and i cannot even imagine PS in Michael's part now this is bliss! :0)

  • I watched this show when it was broadcast, and this was one of the most touching moments I've ever seen. The crowd went wild when Julie sang a little (her voice had been seriously damaged by surgery), and Michael definitely had tears in his eyes as he holds her in the dip.

By the way, Patrick Stewart was supposed to be opposite Julie in this scene, but he got sick, and MC was asked to do it. He hates to do anything he hasn't rehearsed for ages, but I think he did fine.
