i have a 1997 se pk ripper american made i wonder what its worth in great condition in fact i just took it back to the bmx track after sitting for 15 years
love the yellow label TIOGA COMP III's! Snakebelly on the rear and a COMP III up front...that is the old school set-up! great looking bike, man! enjoy it and take care of it.
@Delticola, you forgot about Race Inc. They made some of the lightest frames during the late 70's thru the 80's. They cracked easily because they were aluminum. They were made for racing only. No jumping unless you weighed under 100 lbs. My friend had 1 and it weighed under 17 lbs.
@happyone98 Yeah, I almost forgot about Race Inc. They were the ONLY bars to get on your bike. I had Race Inc. bars on my Redline. I should have bought the PK Ripper. The owner of the Schwinn Shop in DeLand Florida had a non painted PK on display and he told me it was a better selling bike then the Redline, hottest thing going back in 1982. I saw the tig welding and thought there was something wrong with how that bike was made, what did I know as a kid. Oh well.
Back in the 1980's SE Racing used a lot of Baby Blue, Brown, and a weird Brown Camo print. Pretty interested for graphics. As a kid I was little scared of the Baby Blue, thought someone in SE might have been queer, it was just about like a pink. But to tell you the truth, I loved that stuff. But I always had a Redline and then a Hutch, somehow I was scared of the Aluminum, no other bikes were made of aluminum. I was a cromoly boy with envy, SE envy. That PK Ripper was a really cool frame
@MrPIMP635 My old man said this was the bike to have back in the day,so as soon they started making them again he drove 2.5 hours to get mine, raced it only 3 times. He actually should of held out for the loop tail, that was his day. Also the most he got as a schwinn scrambler, finishing his 88 custom Mongoose in 1996,still have.
Fucking KICKASS!! I have this frame myself, as well! I got it right when the 2010 Retro PKR looptails came out...so far I have a pristine pair of white Landing Gear, tan & blue SE saddle, white tuff IIs, white CompIII tires & lt. blue SE bars, but that's as far as I got. I plan on finishing it by the end of this year, tho, with all light blue accessories! I also have a gloss black '09 PKR with chrome LG and all GOLD accessories, and a candy red retro Quad.
