@HateWakingUpMonday He was speaking hypothetically. He was implying that Bush would never back down even if he was proven completely wrong. If Bush said that trains were safe on Monday and then on Tuesday every train crashed, Wednesday Bush would still believe trains are safe. What's funny about the Bush part of this video is that the reason to go to Iraq given to the American people was wrong and Bush doesn't back down despite what the facts tell us. Nothing in particular happened on Tuesday.
@HateWakingUpMonday I think if it was anything at the time it would be the Iraq War but I don't think he was. During this dinner he also pointed out how Bush thinks from his gut not his mind.
@bobolob Republican go on pure instinct, Democrats use the cognitive mind. This separates us from the other animals. Maybe if republicans believed, and understood evolution, they would correct this flaw.
@HateWakingUpMonday What happened on Tuesday? (Invasion of Iraq) which was supposed to be quick, and actually dragged us into a long conflict supporting a fragile religiously/ethnically divided semi-democracy. billions every month to support it. Going into patriotic zealousness, undercutting private rights ect. . . . Monday was right after September 11th. Wednesday is still hasn't happened cause we are still there. Wether it be troops, cia or private "security agencies".
Despite the manner and unnecessarily lengthy approach that Bush took to remove Saddam from office, it WAS the right decision to rid a murderer from office. The persistent installment of a constitution to the point that soldier's lives were sacrificed was unnecessary and a poor decision by Bush, however there's no arguing that Bush should not stand by his decision to rid Saddam from his power regime. All opinions aside of the man, there's nothing wrong with that.
@tharps22 Despite the manner that Bush took to remove Saddam from office? You mean a war in a country that didn't do anything to us, after carpet bombing the citizenry and then standing on the deck of an aircraft carrier with a sign that boasted "mission accomplished"? Or do you mean the lying to the entire U.S. congress, the people of the United States and going against sanctions from the United Nations and the Geneva Convention? He is right, Bush is too stupid to learn anything new.
what colbert was alluding to is that bush won't change. people need to change their beliefs as things change in the world, or else we'd be stuck in the past..
@mtr4216 Who said that? If the issue was black and white his father wouldn't have written a book on why we should not invade Iraq. There is a right and a wrong way to do everything and lying to everyone, getting sanctioned to take America to war through lies and deceit, and taking over a country that won't change politically for business reasons (oil), and misleading the entire country into stupid banter like this has what to do with doing the right thing?
how the heck did bush become our president?????????? he's a complete idiot! and he never explained why we invaded iraq.. i know why though... its all about the oil.. fuck you bush!
@gbaili the republicans pick people who look good and have charm... watch some campaign videos of him. remember Reagan? he was an actor. remember palin? she's dumb as a post but she's more attractive than anybody else on the campaign trail. mccain - war hero. republicans pick people who can look good long enough to get into office, then they're used to further the interests of those who paid to put him in office.
Hey has anybody noticed what Colbert was specifically talking about? I mean... it's pretty clear. "What happened Tuesday..." Does it need to be spelled out?
@TheGuessWho99 I think you flipped conservative and liberal in there.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CONSERVATIVE AND A LIBERAL
If a conservative doesn't like guns, they don't buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, then no one should have one.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, they don't eat meat. If a liberal is, they want to ban all meat products for everyone.

@freethinkerer Well, to be fair, the Republicans like to believe they know stuff. Ignorance is bliss for them...
