  • ipad shouldve been this

  • BRO YOU ARE MY HERO i have that exact same tablet ... the tc4400 right you should help me out im trying to get leopard on mine with iatkos hope it works if not you should hook me up with the link for the tiger version

  • wow. nice try. this is a video of a regular mac with somebody using a pen on the screen. you can tell b/c the mouse is moving when he doesnt touch the screen. nice try buddy.

  • wow. Ignorance. It's easy to install OS X on a pc, and the cursor does move on a tablet pc, even if you're not directly touching the interface.

    n00b

  • it sucks

  • Im inspired to try and get osx86 working on my TX2z again. I was just looking at buying a modbook when I ran into this video and I remembered why I had tried this before, because 1300$ + the destruction of my 1800$ macbook is a steal, only I'm the victim.

  • @sntiforo its only 699 if you use your own macbook. and you can get one premade with a macbook for about 1100 nowadays if you shop around. also if you payed 1800 for a macbook you must have been smoked seven kinds of crystal meth b/c macbooks have always been right around 1000 dollars...

  • this is 100% real, the application Corel Painter IX was not universal binary so that it was a little bit laggy. and why does not modbook user use textedit to write? virtually they can write everything with Ink enable.

as mentioned, you can not fake it, Ink only show if you have a stylus/tablet

  • sorry you got it wrong

the modbook do get a few seconds lag when using the pen/stylus

and that thing text edit to write is in the modbook

  • It's not Stickies. When you use "Write Anywhere" with Ink you start writing and it pops up a notepad background which extends to whatever you're writing and when you stop writing it inserts the text. If anything the tablet PC sensor is inferior to the Modbook's causing lower performance. The point here though is that it works.

  • does wifi work on it i heard on not macs mac os 86 does have working network drivers

  • fake

  • fake. the cursor doesn't move smoothly, not at all. this dude uses the mouse with another hand. we want the real MBT! :D

  • your an idiot. LOL! it's not fake you noob. The system and setup is just a bit laggy. You'd have to be freakin harry potter to sync the pen and mouse like that on the fly. lolz...noob.

  • Bla bla bla legality, seriously, let's get the pertinent information here: is this a hoax ala "Tiger on Toshiba m200" a few years ago (major bummer there as the m200 features pressure sensitivity), or is this the real deal, in which case let's hear how it was done!

  • Erm, no. The pen doesn't need to touch the screen to move the cursor.

  • dumb, you can not use Ink technology with a normal mouse ;)

  • It doesnt because if you touch it with you fingers nothing happens

  • I'll wait until Apple makes one. But being a lefty worries me, cause I drag my hand when I draw/write and I assume that would mess up the tablet sensors.

  • hello i would be extremely interested in doing this my self...

    1) what pc did u use

2 did u need any special drivers

    3) how hard was it to install osx86

  • It's fake

  • it isnt fake, just install OSx86 and make sure that distro contains Ink tablet drivers.

  • yeah but the pen here isnt as acurate as wacoms and it doesnt have presure sensitivity

  • Can you use your finger?

  • Somewhat. Watch watch?v=41Z0FJYBd5U for more info on legalities.

  • Oh I know. Installing hackingtosh (aka OSX 86) is totally illegal. If you read the above comments I was responding too you'll see they (and I) were talking about the modbook.

  • In Apple's Single License Agreement, they specifically state that thier operating system may not be run on anything but Apple products. That's the law, LEARN IT.

  • like you dont steal music, noob

  • I don't steal music. I use the iTunes Store. If that's noob to you, it must mean you're a pirate pro. And according to your insults/comments, it certainly seems so.

  • it is apple hardware... just modified a bit....

  • And these modifications are basically reverse engineering, which breaks the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

  • not really, they fetured at the mac xpo so obviusly apple are happy with them. its like taking apart something and adding fetures and selling it on, i dont think apple see any harm in that. why dont you ring steve jobs and see if he has a problem with the modbook, he will be on his playing age of empires 3 when your on the phone lol

  • lmao sorry i only just realised that this wasnt a modbook! haha :D sorry, now i understand you, yeh this is illigal :D

  • The modbook is endorsed by Apple and the company that makes them is an Apple Specialized Hardware Reseller. They are exempted from the SLA. But a TABLET PC running OS X is illegal and breaks the SLA.

  • yeh i thought this was a mod book, i didnt read the description lol :]

i wouldnt mind a modbook, they do look nice

id rather a 'modbook pro' though lol

  • It IS an apple product. It's just a macbook with a wacom tablet display.

  • That's obviously an illegal operation. And if you see Apple selling it, it isn't Apple, but probably this guy trying to sell OS X "PC version" cheap. (sarcasm)

  • its not illegal. if you own a copy of OS X you have the right to put it on what ever machine you please, that is the law, LEARN IT.

  • in apple's EULA, they specifically state that thier operating system may not be run on anything but apple products.

  • It is illegal to put Mac OS X on a non Apple labeled computer. Please refrain from committing crimes. You have broken the Apple SLA. (By the way, sticking an Apple sticker on your computer does not mean "Apple labeled".)

  • Um yeah it isnt illegal. You can put OSX on pcs. They sell it on the web for PC

  • ... ehm, thats the x86 version that is illegal

  • I'm inspired! Can You tell what Tablet PC is shown here?

  • very cool - though I expected to see a machine with that kind of hardware run osx faster.. of course, who knows what sorts of details are coming in to play to skew my perception of slowness anyway.

  • holy smokes, i didn't think that was availiable on any os yet. the drawing converted into text. i only saw it done on the fly pen. oh, yeah and the pc running on the table is amazing also.

  • This is the InkWell technology that Apple ported over from its Newton line of PDA that were released in the mid-90's. It has been around for quite a while and is considered to be one of the best handwriting recognition things out there but it really hasn't been used for much since the Newton flopped but it has been available on Mac OS X for a while now (can't remember if it was a 10.2 or 10.3 feature).

  • how exactly did you manage to install Mac on an non apple computer? i didnt think it was possible...

  • OS X has to be cracked, the cracked releases are around torrent sites and P2P networks right now. I dont think 10.4.9 has been cracked yet, but 10.4.8 is available. Guides are on ww w[dot]osx86project[dot]org/.

  • mac hardware has copyed most of all pc hardware.

so thats why most newer osx can run on an non-apple computer.

  • No, the reason newer OSX versions can run on most third party computers is because they have been made to run in Intel processors.

  • That sucked. I'll wait for Apple to create their own tablet with Leopard. That would be "kick ass".

  • Apple Just Issued A Patent Including A touchscreen Computer :)

  • Ink technology in Mac OS X ;)

  • whoa! that's cool, how did you hand-write in TextEdit and then get it to convert to text.

  • the windows version runs smoothly;)

  • Man in that drawing program it is soo slow and sluggish, are all Tablet PCs like that?, if so i need to wait a few years before get instanteniously faster.

  • Using a drawing tablet is a lot more processor intensive than using a mouse. Painter 9 is also a very powerful and heavy professional level digital painting application not some cheesy little MS Paint type thing and it is not designed to run on Intel chips so it is running in Rosetta at about half the speed it would be running at if it was designed to run on Intel chips.

  • hm, what if i have a family license of Tiger?

  • also kann ich das ganz normale OS X auf meinem PC installieren und es funktioniert so, wie im Kurzfilm gezeigt?

  • ja, aber man muss installdvd bzw. kernel patchen, sonst geht es nicht

  • it's very interesting, but illegal...

  • corel works not very smoothly because it's for PPC Mac, not Universal Binary
