  • i love them as a band.

    they work so well together.

  • WOW he sounds so much like neil young, mick jagger, elton john, david bowie, and robert plant at the same time.

pretty much every early '70s singer is represented. love it!

  • This is amazing.

And anyone who repeatedly clicks on this video just to bash it needs to find something better to do.

  • suck it jonas brotherssss

mgmt is da best fuckin band on the planettt

  • The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, now MGMT.

  • His voice sounds like Wayne Cohen and Robert Plant. haha.

    Love it. :)

  • @mudjunky78

ha i've always thought he sounded like robert plant too!

  • sounds like neil young ...

  • He doesn't need a Les Paul for this song. Lol

  • @MrFallout72

    Strat fan huh?

  • @Nokiathrower Nah...I' not picky. I was just saying it's a pretty easy song to play.

  • Haha, his glasses are great. Love this song. Love their lyrics. Love their albums. Love Andrew. Love Ben.

  • andrew is a big Neil Young fan

  • andrew is so! cute <3

  • His voice sounds a little like Neil Young in this one

  • @Tyquaisia no neil youngs voice sounds like his

  • TREMENDOUS

  • When the drums kick in and the tempo speeds up I get goosebumps.

  • @PS3WiiKyle14 HAHA me too

  • you think he likes jim morrison?

  • jim morrison was one and only:)

  • he sometimes kinda sounds like Billy Corgan in this live version, just saying...but truly amazing band...and truly amazing and brilliant song

  • Is there any bass in the intro to this song?

  • this is by farr their best live song!

  • Beautiful song. Great songwriting, but whoever is worried that they are not playing the instruments... well _anyone_ can play this song. 4 chords. Pretty uncomplicated strumming. The only picking is from C to G and it echoes the bass riff.

Music doesn't have to be complicated to be good though.

  • @mgouker

    thaaaaats right :)

  • @mgouker adda kid

  • @mgouker No joke, just look at Bob Dylan, times are a-changin' has like what 4 chords?

  • @mgouker hey mgmt great. but you sir need to eat a dick

  • when the drums kick in...what a moment

  • no, this is incredible[:

  • super cool

  • Comment removed

  • Wow !

  • I love their music, but really I don't think they are good live...

Or maybe their stages must be more intimate!

  • Their stages need to be on acid. That would surely give em a boost.

  • i agree.

not that they suck live though.

    they're interesting live.

    there's something...i guess that's why i keep watching

  • morron

  • this music is real

  • so real

  • amazing version!

  • WOOOOW! is he high, the lovely Andrew?

  • Haha in all truth, that is very likely.

  • Oh, didn't expect that at all! ;)

  • You got problems.. maybe it's time for you to get help eccentrichippie

  • if you really understood music, you would know soul will trump raw talent anyday. and this definitely has soul, if you have ever read about early blues men such as skip james and john hunt you would realize what soul was, you dont need raw talent to be a poet or musician, you just gotta have a song in you. so why don't you stop judging peoples opinions and trying to pass off your observations of aspects of the composition (minor intro). it means nothing. your not smart. not really anyway.

  • Hahaha, I find it hilarious that you are trying to educate me on music.

Nice try, bud. Someday you'll understand, and make sense of it all... Then you'll look back and realize what a pretentious douche you are.

By the way, here's a tip: You lose credibility when you say something like, "your not smart." Sorry, you stupid bastard, but I don't own a "not smart."

    Hahaha!

  • frustrated musician, very sad

  • i was talking to eccentric hippie

  • you find it funny? I gave up being a music minor because of the shear fact when you try and equate music to another subject such as math, it all of a sudden has rules. music should have rules. And your mighty come back is that I didn't say You're on youtube. Here you go. I will spell it out perfectly with no grammatical errors for you so that you can understand because apparently you can't understand a sentence unless its perfect within rules which is the case with your music. You aren't smart.

  • ah what do we have here, a true musician?

you my friend understand. music is an art, it is feeling, it is emotion.

  • art, feeling, emotion, and FREEDOM

  • i'm sorry, i thought you answered me

  • and i meant music "shouldn't" have rules.

  • why post negative comments?

  • ...That was a lot of effort for bashing a band you don't like. Rather pointless.

    Great Job!

  • I love this version even more then the studio version!

  • hahhahahaa....amazing

  • and i love his glasses

  • I LOVE THIS SONG !

  • He is beautiful. and talented. He'd probably make a pretty girl too.

  • gorgeous men play gorgeous music

  • amen to that.

  • soooo true!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wonderful song :)

  • what a sick solo

  • Doesnt matter

  • this song is so much better live, and it's already amazing

  • If Love had a face it would be Andrew's. :)

  • yeaaah !!! :)

  • not a big deal they play they didnt have a band when they first hit they said this themself so that explains it ,over with by

  • congratulations, humbug, the resistance and klaxons new album... 2010 will be an enormous turning point for rock music!

  • You have good taste dude.

  • I thought congratulations and resistance are coming out this year

  • don't forget gorillaz and justice.

  • For real...there's only a handful

  • i watched a few mgmt vids b4 saying this but they dont seem to really be playing ive watch about 4-5 vids but i dont know

  • what leads you to believe they are not playing their instruments?

  • cuz the vids i see they arent playing but theres still music and they have a flute player in one and she forgets to play yet theres still a flute being herd an in this one his hands dont move but the cords change

  • The only one that they dont is kids...

  • oh ...yea great group.

  • have u heard the album version of this song? this couldnt sound any further away from the album version. of course they play their instruments live!

  • dont know dont get me wrong i like em theres just times there kinda standing there and fumbleing with eq's yet music continues to play

  • the flute part's doubled on keyboard

  • oh ok

  • well man videos on youtube are not the most accurate tool for measurement, audio can be slower or faster than the video, but i've watched most of their videos and i haven't seen what you are talking about yet.. you should give us an actual reference, like 1:28 the lead is exactly what the guitarist is playing, and at 2:37 andrew's chord shapes and strumming looks exactly like what you hear, plus this is a nice easy jam, i don't think anyone would need to fake it

  • don't forget the other band members

  • I have no idea whose thumbs-downing all these comments on MGMT videes about who they're influenced by, it's not a bad thing. No ones saying they ripped off so and so. Every band has their own musical influences you can here. I love listening to MGMT because I can hear all their diverse influences. It's great and I love it.

  • They were deeply influenced by Jethro Tull..I thinks its obvious.

  • ... have you watched any of there interviews? they say who they are influenced by........

  • Really? My dad's a big fan of Jethro Tull and im a big fan of MGMT :)

  • Well lemme just say..Your dad and you have really awesome taste in music..it must run in the family!

  • nice to see some fellow canadians out there

    gotta love lollapalooza

  • Lovely.

  • Brill.... Andrew is a beautiful person.x

  • oh jeah, he is! ;)

  • best of the century

  • looks exactly like the lead singer from ELO before the crazy affro and beard
