Its not a cop. its the constable. Basically it is in case he is in trouble or something were to happen to him like a threat or something he could turn on his lights and get out of there. Just like if the president were riding in a Tahoe and something were to happen they would turn on their lights and siren and get the hell out of there. But that car does not go on calls.

If you look at the side of the car, it says "Texas Constable". Look that up online and you will see that a constable in Texas has practically the same rights and duties as any other Texas Law enforcement officer. I know where I am from (CT), constables use their own vehicles, even though they don't have the rights of other police officers. This is a legitimate law enforcement officer, so stop giving him such a hard time. NICE LIGHTS! The Charger doesn't stand a chance.

You can have all the power in the world in your patrol unit, but if your sgt. calls off the pursuit it doesn't mean much does it. Most chases are either called off, or the suspect crashes.  Besides, I have seen an EVOC instructor keep up with the new camaro in a Crown vic on an EVOC course. The crown vic has a great balence of everything a cop car needs.

Here in my city, they have a dedicated Dodge Charger strictly for traffic enforcement. The officer routinely performs stationary radar on a 8 lane freeway running through the city.

its meant for intercepting. but hes a constable. he doesnt really do much other than show up at a crime scene and check in with other departments to make sure they are doing their job. he would have to call in backup to make an arrest. hes not exactly gonna let the criminal wait while he slides the seat forward. hah. but around here the constables dont do much other than maintain the police headquarters and write reports over wrecks and whatnot.

Chevrolet does not make a "police interceptor" or even a "police package" Camaro AT ALL anymore, unlike the previous generation Camaro's option "B4C" police package. Technically, the "Police Interceptor" is specifically a FORD, as it is a trademarked name for the police-package-equipped Crown Victoria through 2011. However, the general public tends to call all police cars "police interceptors", though it's incorrect. This Camaro is just a base RS.
