Its a great game for the year it came out.

Music was awesome and the idea was great.

Problem was it was so freaking lineal for a game that tried to emulate Vampire The Masquerade RPG. And the PC sheet system was "meh"

Never finished it beacause of a glitch.

But the atomsphere...the music...the stories....redeems this game.

@EremesLoki If you are talking about the glitch at the end of the society of leopold mission, then there are plenty of forums that tell you how to fix that glich, thats how i did it and it worked.

@franvi77 Yeah, i know. But i already know the posibles ending and got to know that whatever you do along the game doesnt count for them. The final decisions are the ones yo "unlocks" the endings... so i let it rest in piece.

Leopold bug stopped me, but got plenty of other ones.

@franvi77 there shouldn't be a need anymore, i never encountered it and i've played the game like ... pssshhht 20 times now. the unofficial patches fix almost darn near everything. almost. i've found a few bugs but thats my thing i love breaking systems/rulesets.

@Spitfire0818 i honestly doubt that there wil be a new game, since Troika Games went bankrupt shorty after Vampire:The Masquerade: Bloodlines was released. one of the reasons they filed bancrupcy was that they couldn't find anyone to sell the game franchise to.. which is rly very sad, since this is one of the greatest gemes i've ever played... :(

@kaly94 Although there will probably never be another game based on Vampire The Masquerade. There is a MMO based on the "world of darkness"- roleplaying game, so the Vampire Masquerade universe is not dead :)

@girlsaurus Yeah so? I know that. There was even supposed to be a werewolf based WOD game from Troika as well but they went bankrupt unfortunately. Makes me sad just to think about it. But not all hope is lost since the MMO is based on the old WOD so we'll probably see a revival of the whole franchise in the future. They've already announced that they will put old books back for sale as well. :)

Well, it's based on oWoD, so it's the same world. Not sure about the developers or quality, but IIRC the atmosphere was cautiously optimistic.

@XChildeofMalkavX Troika was the perfect team to do the job. Surely, their games suffer from glithes (all three of them do, ironically), still they are true gems in rpg genre.

Unlike Bioware or Bethesda these guys knew all along that their ship was about to sink, and that's why there was no reason to play safe - they could experiment all they wanted. If not for them, Masquerade wouldn't be the game we love so much.

They were really under budget and pressured so badly to release (since they had to delay the game). The half life engine was good, but it was a bit out of date. The small team of users with the unofficial patch and mods really fixed the game up. Still this was probly the best vampire game I've ever played along with legacy of kain and bloodrayne.

@XChildeofMalkavX I agree with you on all accounts except for the "out of date" part. Half Life 2 and Masquerade were released almost at the same moment. Perhaps, I misunderstood and what you really meant was that you personally didn't like the presentation of the game. Then, I guess, it's a matter of opinions.

And I really love the Legacy of Kain series. Too bad such good games had to die.

Well during production of the game, the half life engine was awesome. But by the time this game was released, no one cared to much of the engine since the unreal game engine became popular. Also there's a small team part of the planet-vampire community that is adding on the orange box engine graphic features to this game. Look up Vampire Bloodlines Revival Mod. You'll love it.
