It kinda seems like it defies the theory of wing chun, when applied to a round house kick as a primary defense block. with committing your guard for someones legs as well as it looks like a woman wouldnt be able to absorb that kick as well as a man, Tae Kwon Do usually follows up on their round house with a reverse punch or cross, now you have committed your woo sao to the legs exposing your head.

stop kicks with kick and hands with hands, unless you saw that kick coming at the last minute.

@jayarefu - If the kicker plants the kicking leg & follows w/ lead hand punch, instead of retracting like in the demonstration...the kwan sau shifts from the block of the kick & transitions into a simultaneous attack down the cenerline, while the Tan sau left hands remain up to shield the kicker's right hand.

The theory is that no one can kick with the right feet and then plant it down to strike with the left hand.

Whether the kicker retracts or plants his feet to strike, WC guy is covered

I Gotta say,, ive been training Ving Tsun for a total of 2 years... I got to say, Watching this videos are very informative. Knowing something is one thing. Applying things are lil different.

This is one of the best sifu you can found out of China, Before i got sifu i use to train with lot of siifus, and i can tell you, this sifu is a really good one. Wing Chun is one of the most powerfull kung fu close combat system there is, and can be applied against long distans to // Sifu

you can tell when a good teacher is talking, because they always say something like, "If i cant explain it.." or "you cant use it after I have taught you..." then don't pay me anything... It is good to see that Sifus like this are still around!
