Santa is meant to be St Nicholas, and Jesus is believed to be born in April. The only reason Christmas is in December is because it's winter in the Northern hemisphere, and that's where Christmas was invented. Christmas is celebrated in December, because that's when most people want to stay inside.

You are an idiot, the day christmas is on may have originally been a pagan day - the roman celebration of the sun god or something like that - but the actual celebration of "christ"mas has everything to do with jesus. When the roman empire became catholic the celebration of christmas took over on that day to celebrate the birth of christ. So christmas is definetly not pagan.

The celebration of Christmas on the 25th is, just as you say, Romans moving away from Pagan traditions and trying to suppress them by overlaying new holidays over existing festivals.
