I don't think he meant it literal though, I think he meant it in regards to their message of peace and love. Basically that being, that Gods forgivness was a " Free gift " thru Christ. If you read the book of Job, it is hard to " reason " why God allowed all that misery into Jobs life. God said Job was a good man but still allowed Satan to kill his children and steal his property. In all that Job stated, " Tho he slay me, yet I still trust " ! Not faith over reason ???

Which I think he was, to a degree. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the guy either. Reformation was needed within the Church. He just had the wrong idea, but this is a different topic. @mrstevehartman But this doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to reason. After all, I came to God thru reason first, then faith. Job was a pious man, and a man of faith. But because we live in a fallen world, good things can and will happen to good people, no matter if your Job. This doesn't mean that God 'causes' these things, but merely allows them to happen, as you pointed out. The point is not trying to pit them against one another, but to see how they can and do go hand-in-hand... cont.

@mrstevehartman After all, Job didn't curse at God or say, "screw this, I no longer believe in God." He had reason to believe that there was a God, so that was never an issue, however, his faith was tested. He may not have understood why, but he also knew not to trust his own judgement over God's, as he had faith. So I absolutely believe that even someone like Job must've had both faith and reason. I can tell you that I wouldn't be a Christian if it were not for reason... cont.

After all, without the miracles of the virgin birth and the resurrection, how many people would be Christians today? They could have faith in this man named Jesus, but what would separate him from an other ordinary (good) man? The miracles. @mrstevehartman but supernatural, and therefore, Jesus couldn't be an ordinary man but divine. So we (Christians) can deduce, or by reasoning determine that Jesus is who he claimed to be, God. So, to reiterate, my point is that we need to have both faith and reason, and not one over the other. @tabb041 the back masking stuff john did wasnt based on knowing how to talk in reverse.... he spent a lot of time using early synths and recording things in reverse and playing them forwards at twice the speed or slower... you can hear the songs that have it... some stuff is still played forward but way faster so when you slow everything down and turn it up you hear the message... like in let it be... when still playing forward but slowed down behind let it be you hear "paul is bloody"...

I don't believe it was fake. The Beatles were the first to use backmasking in their songs. "Rain" was the first song although there rumours about "Help!". John could have just been messing around like the joker he was. But this song came out in '68 when conflict in the band started getting pretty bad. He could have just been angry with Paul and put this in "I'm So Tired"

Actually by 1968, when he wrote that song, he started feeling like quitting the beatles. remember his interviews that appear in the Anthology. So it may be false that lennon did that purposely, still it surely is not because of that reason you have aduced. Cheers

some ppl have said that it's extra sensory to have things come out in your speech in reverese, it only happens sometimes not always, some lyrics from other songs have been placed into songs purposely to do this effect by the producers, the vocalist and band might not even know about it, ex. jonas brothers. led zepplin, ect.
