Hey Im doinq exactly the same thinq you are doinq and i would like to know what type of stain did you use on this orqan to make it look so qood ? Because the way your before pictures look is the same way my orqan looks like . Only difference is mines is a C2 . If its possible please email so i can qet more info about how to strip the guts out of the orqan music_nstrumnts@yahoo.com .
Sigh~~~.. Brings back memories!!! I had a '58 C-3 a few yrs ago.. It had a little bruise on the front left corner from a fall (previous owner), but the wood was like a cherry-wood finish & just BEAUTIFUL... Had that same Quatrefoil on the sides too. The manuals were PERFECT, though the keycombs/felts could have been replaced... That thing sounded so phat & warm... Only issue was a few "out-of-tune" notes due to the fall. Sold it, now have an A-100 but miss it! NOTHING like the OLDER C's/B's :-)
Very, very nice. Beautiful work. Thank you for saving her :-)
I have owned 2 C3's; I prefer the full cabinet rather than the legs of the B3. I owned a 1957/1958 that I , unfortunately, had to sell 19 years ago. But I still have my 1961 C3 (seen in the background on my profile page) that was put into a 1948 CV case, as the older quatrefoile-adorned cases seem to be better. I'm curious: What is the serial number of this C3? And great background music, as well :-) Peace:-)
Yup... thats a good restoration, nice to see another basket case brought back to life... well done mate. I take it your in the states? I am in the UK, looking for rebuild project myself (B3, A100 or C3), but they are rarer than hens teeth over here! :( Working models up all togeather can work out @ £6,000 (about $10,000). Still looking and hoping :). Anyhow, well done.
I just got an old C3 as a gift, but without the cabinet. So I have to build one myself and of course put all the little pieces together. I'm excited, but man, this looks like a lot of work!
I bought a Hammond X-77. It sounds like this organ when I ran it through a mixing board and into a one channel 145 leslie. I'm going to take a guess and say that you are playing an X-77. You may be running yours through the original X-77 leslie. My computer speakers are small and cannot tell for sure. I donated the organ to our church as I have no room but I have a video of it on my channel. I put it back to original when it was put into the church.
Great Job - I might do the same in a few years time

Beautiful! This music touches the soul!
What marvelous talent you have.
I have played the Hammond C3's in several churches, and wish I had one at home. I have had a few Hammond spinets.

Personally I think the C3 is the best Hammond organ ever. I prefer it to a B3.
Seeing it like new is amazing, it's beautiful, it's perfect.
Perfect restoration ;-)
