I know I'm going to get all dislikes for this, but I can't help but feel that Lorna has sort of capitalized on her Mother's legacy. Liza grew up trying to distance herself from her mother and built a career and name of her own. Lorna has earned her living by writing books, making tv movies, and now touring concerts all about her mother rather than just about her. Don't get me wrong I think she means well but I just don't know that I agree with it...
@beki17 I never said she didn't have a right to. As her daughter, of course she does. Lorna hasn't just followed in Judy's footsteps; she earns her living directly off her Mother's name. Rather than performing concerts of her Mother's repertoire, why not try more original material of her own? Rather than making a TV movie about her Mother, why not try to get some acting jobs of her own? Liza has and I'm sure Lorna could too. For the record, I like Lorna and am sure she is capable of much more.
Lorna, I admire you simply because you are who you are. Liza, I love you just becaue you are who you are. Both these women are remarkable in their own right and not simply because of who their mother was. I am sorry for either of these women if they feel overshadowed because they both have remarkable talent in their own right. .....And I do love Judy too, just because Judy was Judy. I am a fan of all of them.
Yes, she contradicted herself a couple of times and I find it strange, too, that she doesnt simply say, My mother was a happy person with some very unhappy traits. But apart from that, I found her so refreshingly honest and non-superficial that I would love to hug her right now. But I guess she wouldnt want that, being slightly claustrophobic. ;-)
A Fabulous insight from Lorna's Point of view being brought up by her mother & all the fame & stresses that go's with it..A very Prolific & Enlightening story from the gal that knows it all
I loved this! Especially the end, with Lorna's charming daughter - what a special bond they have. I think all of Judy's kids have turned out well, especially considering what they went through as children - they've been able to forgive and love and understand her and celebrate her life...I don't know about her son, Joe, though. Does anyone know what he does/where he is?
Thanks for that, info, icass74; whatever Joe is doing, I hope he is happy and healthy and retains nothing but the best of memories of his family (and has a decent relationship with his siblings). I have finally realized that more of us than care to admit did not have typical nor happy childhoods.
i like her daughter, she seems like a really fun girl. maybe she will become a famous singer as well eventually, i think i read somewhere that she can sing but shes not sure she wants to
Why is Lorna so porky? Hasn't she ever heard of Dexedrine?

@cda345 she had every right to, why not people follow in their footsteps all the time. Why is it so bad in the entertainment industry.

However, regarding her honesty and humour, its really beyond doubt that she is the daughter of Judy Garland. What a highly, highly likeable family!

I have always admired Lorna for speaking out about what her mother went through and how it affected her life. Thank you Lorna!
