yea but idc bout hinesward he shouldnt even mentioned in the same breathe as marvin harrison he is the 2nd greatest reciever in nfl history and the greatest hands of all time
I really agree with this list, Harrison and Holt were bosses, now I think that TO and Moss were better then Smith but I like your formula going there hard to argue that list a bunch of really really good wide outs
@smjertyjett I mean, to be honest, I agree. But based on the formula, Steve's consistency put him over TO and Moss. They both had a bad year or two, while Steve didn't have a bad (healthy) season until last year.
hey dumbasses simple fact moss=0 rings harrison has 1 ring he has more rings than anybody on that list and he is ranked second in almost every category statistically in receiving and he was consistent so yea get ya facts straight before u start bashing harrison
Holt has to be one of the greatest recievers of all time. I would've liked to seen him play for a better team after the Rams started to become a bad team haha.
Fair enough list. I would put A. Johnson as in a league of his own however along with Calvin Johnson, Guy from Philly, and Roddy white (maybe they haven't been in the league long enough to qualify.
As you are entitled to your opinion i have to disagree wit harrison being number 1, he was a great receiver but he isnt the best wr of the decade, the reason is simple: Payton Manning, manning makes every receiver seem better then they actually are, stockley, garcon, collie, he is the reason why colts have success, as for who i think is the number 1 receiver its also simple: Randy moss, why: daunte culpepper was his qb for have of this decade, what happened when he got tom brady, broke records.
@govikings84 If that is how you're gonna view it, then Steve Smith should be #1. He has never had even an above average QB. But considering the list is stat based, none of that comes into play.
@andypantz7007 This list is sooooo wrong! How do you put Marvin Harrison #1 and Randy Moss #5?!??! U must just be a Colts fan or a Marvin Harrison fan am i right?? Because Moss had more touchdowns and yards than Harrison from 2000-2009 and Harrison had Peyton Manning throwing him the pigskin!!! So how do you figure Harrison is #1??? Moss is #1 you moron. And btw the quality of this video is just horrendous it made my eyes hurt! make a new video and put Randy Moss #1
@mpj32587 You're ignorant as hell. Randy Moss had off seasons, and they counted against him. I hate the Colts, but Harrison was undoubtedly the best WR of 2000-2009. And if we factored in who was throwing to them, Steve Smith would be #1. He hasn't had a QB until this season.
BESIDES you idiot, read the description. It's based on a formula, not personal opinion.
@andypantz7007 I love how you say Steve Smith never had a good QB. Have you never heard of Jake Delhomme?? yea he wasn't good at all he only took them to a Super Bowl in 2003! No receiver scared coaches and players like Randy Moss. even if he did have a bad year in Oakland so what?! Sure call me an idiot and stupid you lil bitch, ur formula doesn't mean jack shit! Moss was the best and moat feared of that era just get over yourself kid, Why do you think no one agrees with you? PUNCH YOURSELF!
@andypantz7007 Just look at the numbers from 2000-2009 Randy Moss had more receiving yards and more touchdowns than Harrison. Harrison does have more receptions but so what? Moss still had more numbers and didn't ahve a Hall of Famer throwing it to him. So, ur formula is totally flawed ur not factoring in everything that you should be. So now what?
@mpj32587 Tell me how you can statistically factor in who is the QB and I'll remake it. Oh wait… You can't. And if you could, Steve Smith would be #1 with Jake Delhomme, Jimmy Clausen, Matt Moore, Chris Weinke throwing to him. I would've taken Culpepper or Moss over ANY of those four guys. So don't cry about QB play, because clearly Steve would be on top.
@andypantz7007 Yea its hysterical that you think your formula actually has any merit whatsoever, lmao hahahahahahaha lol whoooo your a fool. now just shut up before i find you and take ur computer away for being a lil whiny bitch k?
@andypantz7007 How am i illiterate? ur a bitch made faggot and prolly a virgin cuz all you do is make shitty youtube videos and have no life isnt that right you lil fluffer
this is lame, Randy moss is clearly the best. You must be a colts fan. I live on the west coast and grew up watching Jerry Rice, even had season tickets. And I will say till I die, Randy is better than Jerry.
You're crazy not putting Moss #1. He has the best stats, he has the most TD's, & he's the most feared WR EVER. No argument.
@lighterbuds i completely agree with you, as i said above randy moss had culpepper, marv has manning, when moss had brady, broke records... as for this list he needs to do some more thinking, 1. Randy Moss 2. Terrell Owens 3. Steve Smith 4. Chad Ochocinco 5. Larry Fitzgerald 6. Andre Johnson 7. Marvin harrison 8. Reggie Wayne 9. Donald Driver 10. Anquan Boldin Thats my list what do u think?
@govikings84 your list sucks ! keep your opinions to yourself ! why the hell would you put moss first? harrison should be first he broke all the records and plus he has a ring. the only records he couldnt beat are held by rice which will never be reached EVER and all the players you put before harrison have no effin rings LOL
@amalienworkshop1 How high were you when you watched this?? It was based on a formula, and Moss sucked in Oakland, while T.O, although an idiot most of the time, was consistent.
I only disagree about your top 4. In any order of your choice it should be Harrison, Holt, Moss and Owens.
Harrison set the record for most receptions in a season, Moss set the record for most TD in a season, Holt led the decade in receptions and yards, and Owens was the most consistent.
@andypantz7007 Then youre obviously biased. Steve smith is one of the most inconsistent receivers ever.He s played 2 full years since he s been in the league, thats embarassing.Hes gotten over 10 tds once.Out of 9 years hes gotten over 1200 yards twice. Since 2000 moss has gotten over 10 tds 7 times. Since then moss has gotten over 1200 yards 6 times. He averaged at least 1 td per game 3 times just since 2000and was 1 td away from making it 4.Bad formula man.Moss is the definition of consistency
@andypantz7007 He had about 500 yards in 4 games his first year til he got injured, he was having an insane season, with kerry collins. His second year he even admitted he quit which if it was just cuz they were losing id say is stupid but he even said he quit cuz the team made no effort to win or get better, which i dont blame him for that. Averaging almost 13 tds and about 1250 yards a season for 12 seasons is the definition of consistent
@soma27 Let's break down the stats here. These stats are taken from 2000-2010, and they don't include his rookie season where Steve Smith was the #4 receiver on the team and it also doesn't include seasons of under 10 starts (injuries).
Moss: 1,171 yards, 12 TD, 77 receptions per season.
Smith: 1,207 yards, 8 TD, 84 receptions per season.
And even if you do say his rookies season should be counted, remember that Steve was one of the top return men in the league back then.
@andypantz7007 Yeah he doesnt quit he gets injured at flag football games with kids and breaks his arm. Moss quit on his team 1 year and rightfully so,it shows he cares more about winning then money,if your boss quits why shouldnt you? In 2004 moss was used as a decoy more than half the season did you consider that? He was injured and still played cuz he knew how much it helped his team. And you take injuries into consideration. Who wants a guy thats injured half his career? Theres a reson why
@soma27 Steve Smith caught the ball against the Giants at the 10 yard line, and STILL came through with the touchdown. He re-broke it playing flag football, not with kids dumbass. And true greats never quit. Smith is constantly injured, but he plays to be one of the best. It's tough to do with his QBs, but he'd never quit. If he had the same QBs as Moss throughout the years, Smith would lead Moss in the stats department, no doubt.
@andypantz7007 haha, no smith wouldn't. you're obviously a fan of the team he plays for. HE WOULD NOT EVER have more stats than Moss. Let's be real man. I dont' care what you think, but you are wrong. Smith is good, but is he a TD machine like Moss. Not even in the discussion. Dude, I love smith, but let's be real. HE IS NO RANDY MOSS...AND FOR THAT MATTER OF FACT, NOBODY IS RANDY MOSS. There is only 1. He's the best we've ever seen.
@andypantz7007 Moss is considered widely by every analyst, athlete, anyone the #2 receiver ever. Not still playing, ever. Because those ppl know how to consider the coverage moss draws. Smith, rice, andre johnson, none of them have ever put fear into a defense like randy moss, and alot of coordinators have said that. Lets look at the real stats moss avg yds per season career 1205..smith 925..tds per season moss 12.3....smith 5.5. Moss after first 9 years 10,700 yards...smith 8,330.
@soma27 You're counting the seasons where Smith played 1 game after breaking his leg, 1 game his Rookie season where his team went 1-15, and even with Steve's other injuries, he has better stats than Moss.
Moss: 1,171 yards, 12 TD, 77 receptions per season.
Smith: 1,207 yards, 8 TD, 84 receptions per season.
@andypantz7007 dude, Smiths' career stats aren't even close to Moss's, dont' be an idiot. Nobody on earth truley believes he's better. First 6 seasons in the NFL, jerry rice got 79 td's, Moss got 77 td's. End of story. 2 best WR's ever. Fact
@andypantz7007 Moss tds after first 9 seasons 101....smith 50. How can you even argue this? Those numbers include 3 injury plagued seasons and 2 being with the worst team in history. Yet still completely dominates smith. Oh and Moss started #3 on the depth chart his first game rookie year, he was the #1 withtin 3 games.Thats his fault he beat out a hof'er his rookie year? Its cuz hes the best. He never had a hof qb til brady which he then destroyed the league again. You have no argument.
@soma27 My argument is more legit than yours. Steve Smith has NEVER had a QB that was even above average. Smith has finished 3 or 4 seasons with injuries, he's been on some of the worst teams in NFL history (1-15 in 2001, 0-5 in 2010), he didn't even start as a WR until his 2nd season because he was drafted from a small school, Utah, as a returnman only. He went from a returnman to one of the best wide outs in recent history. You have to admit that you know Steve would do damage with good QBs.
@soma27 Also, I say a bad season while giving your best is a hell of a lot better than a bad season where you "quit". Steve Smith never quits, whether his team is 1-15 (2001) or 0-5 (2010).
@GOTARHEELSGO08 What does hight have to do with it? Jerry Rice was like 6'1 and colston is 6'4 does that matter? Moss had help? He came in as a rookie and took the #1 spot from HOF Cris Carter, that in itself is ridiculous. In 2003 he had a mvp year with gus frerotte a quarter of the year and an injured culpepper the other time. His #2 was nate burlson alot. Culpepper sucked without moss anyone who watches football knows that, cunnunigham was never that good and in 05 before he got injured he had
@GOTARHEELSGO08 was on pace for an insane season...with kerry collins! He had 1 less td in a season with a qb who hadnt played since high school then steve smith had in his best year. I love when ppl try to use that, the fact is moss went onto a mediocre team whos qb was on his way out about to retire, then got culpepper who was shit without him, brad noodle arm johnson., gus frerotte, and jeoff george and collins and brooks.Yeah thats a lot of help haha, dumb excuse there guy
@soma27 Steve Smith had a crappy Rodney Peete, a crappier Chris Winke, an average Jake Delhomme, a horrible David Carr, a 44 year old Vinny Testaverde, an undrafted free agent in Matt Moore, and now mediocre rookie Jimmy Clausen.
Randy Moss spent MOST of his years with a future Hall Of Famer. So don't even try to pull the QB card on us.
@andypantz7007 Ok genius who was this great hofer he played with? Please tell me. Oh it was geoff george right? No maybe Frerotte yeah hes goin to the hof. Culpepper? Nope never goin. Collins, brooks,Cassel?Cunningham aint goin so who was it please tell me genius.Brady? who he played with for 2 years 1 of which was after a season ending injury? He gets 1 hof qb and connects with him for 40 tds in 2 seasons. The rest of his qbs were garbage he made his qbs anyone with a football iq over 5 knows that
@soma27 He played with Brady for over 3 seasons, and broke records with Brady. He had Culpepper in his prime, who, despite what you say, was actually a good QB. Guss Ferrote was good enough. Kerry Collins used to be a top 15 QB. Take Moss' list and compare it to Steve's. Steve had Jake Delhomme, Chris Winke, Rodney Peete, David Carr, Vinny Testaverde, Matt Moore, Josh McCown, and Jimmy Clausen. It's obvious that Moss' QBs have the edge. Anyone with a football IQ over 5 knows that.
@Tyromecatron No son..welker faster and runs better routes then dallas clarke fact....jason witten >>dallas...he's a product of the system same with welker but welker is a faster TE and regie wayne hasnt been a better reciever in the last 10 years then 1.Moss 2.T.O maybe the last 5 ..but a decade is ten years!
That Marvin Harrison one handed diving catch at Tennessee is one of the sickest catches in NFL history... unfortunately it is rarely seen because that was from a regional telecast. Usually you see the New England or New Orleans (tip the ball to himself) catches because they were on national TV.
u r dumb ass shit u said TO is better den moss larry andre nd chad den i=on top of dat u put steve smith over dem u hav shit for brains Moss should b #1 den chad den larry den andre den calvin den TO
@TrizzySSwild You, sir, are a dumbass. This is a list OF THE TOP 15 RECIEVERS OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS. Read the damn title. Randy Moss sucked in Oakland, while guys like Steve Smith were consistant throughout the entire decade. And this list is BASED ON A FORMULA< not my opinion. Like damn, read the title and description before you call me a dumbass. You can't even spell half of the simple words you wanted to say, so you can shut the hell up. Please and thank you.
@andypantz7007 ur a dumass. make a new formula cuz that list wrong dumass!, larry is top 5, moss is top 3 andre is top 3, chad is top 5, reggie is top 7, T.O is top 6,
You people really need to start reading the video description. I give the formula used to calculate who goes where just so everyone wouldn't comment telling me how crappy my list is. I didn't decide the list, their stats did.
T.J. Housh.should not be higher rated than Rod Smith....Randy moss number 2...I did not see Reggie Wayne??? He should have taken T.J. Housh's place LOL....
Reggie Wayne was 10th, one above Housh. This was all based on a formula, so it's not like I decided who went where haha. it just played out like this.
i think patriots will be the champ this year....they have torry holt, randy moss, wes welker, as a WR and Tom brady as a QB and maroney for rushing the ball, and faulk the RB that can catch a ball
bad list...... may look good number wise but when it comes to skill u got it all wrong.... for one u have reggie wayne who is easily a top 5 and 10th.... come on now
this is a really great system, its like the way used to rank fantasy receivers, is that the formula u used? or did u just come up with it on ur own? and all of these make total sense, don't know why ppl are bitching. maybe just cuz they need to learn how to read
I used my own formula that factored in all stats that can actually be measured. Obviously I can't factor in how good the QB or receiving core is, but I did add TDs, yards, catches, etc.
Sorry, but doesn't seem that well constructed. It should take into account when guys finish in the top 5 or 10 in yards, td's etc. The top 5 should go like this IMO.
i just have to say that DeSean jackson from the eagles is missing!!, if u got fitzgerald u should have gotten desean, say what u want but desean had 2 be here
Desean Jackson just broke out last season. This list is based on the last 10 seasons. Besides, so be eligible, a player must have been in the league for at least 5/10 seasons.
One of the few lists about the NFL on Youtube I can agree with. Issac Bruce had his best years in the late 90s which is why he's only 15th. Harrison deserves #1 since everyone knew the ball was going to him yet they couldn't stop him anyway. I'm also glad you didn't put players like Fitzgerald or Johnson too high considering they haven't had a full decade of work yet.
this is based soley on stats, but you have to remember most of these players were on pass-first teams, but look at the panthers steve smith, he's consistently a top 10 receiver yet his team throws it the least, that means he is relied on the most and receives the most attention in the passing game, holt and bruce made each other, same with harrison and wayne, and fitzgerald and boldin, so in my mind 89 tops other receivers, he has a disadvantage at size yet plays like he's 6'4 215 lbs
acording to your fomula that is true but it cant be like that because some of the best guys dont look pretty in the stats collum ie wes welker but he is a staple in that patriots offense also tj may have been a bit higher up if he had a really good qb throwing to him. look what happened when moss went to new england. IF brady had the younger moss he could have thrown like 60 td passes in a season
I actually think I would put them in the same order. However I would switch Rod Smith with Hines Ward. But the formula you created was phenomenal. People need to understand that this is just for the decade. I mean, there was the 07-08 season (I think, I'm horrible with time) and Randy Moss was the best, but his time with the Raiders really lowered his average.
hard to really argue with the formula you have put a lot of work in to it very well done only thing i will say harrsion being number while he was outstanding having wayne opposite helped him a lot guys like andre johnson would i dare say have seen a lot more double coverage because of a lack of a consistent wideout on the other side holts numbers have been inflated because of the offense scheme he played in i think hines ward should be on this list also other than that great job
Then you look at a guy like Steve Smith. He hasn't had a legitimate #2 threat beside him since Muhsin Muhammad was younger. PLUS the Panthers run a scheme where the rushing game presides over the passing game.
You know... round about 3-4 or so years ago, I used to tell everybody that Marvin Harrison and Torry Holt were the two best receivers in the league. The vociferous bastards like Randy Moss and Terrel Owens seemed to command all the attention back in those days. However, when you looked strictly at the productivity numbers, it was clear-cut that Holt and Harrison were the guys.
Larry fitzgerald is the best of the decade he is great don't get me wrong but he hasn't had the same level of consistency as harrison, moss, chad, smith, andre johnson, or owens i would like to see what he does without boldin on the other side this year.
But Keyshawn and Muhs both dropped off mid/late in the decade, while Driver has started throughout the decade. if it were really that biased, Muhsin would've been higher than 19th.
@andypantz7007 i still remember that season where muhs caught 16 tds(2004). Him and John Kasay should be the 1st Panthers in the ring of honor. Keyshawn played thru 2006 like Rod Smith. They have comparable stats and played relatively the same number of years. Smith came in the league undrafted on the practice squad in 94 and KJ was the #1 pick overall in 96. Both finished in 06(though RS was on IR in 07)
Rod Smith is one of the best of the best, while Keyshawn was good, but won't be considered among the best. Honestly, I expected Hines Ward, KJ, and Muhs to make this list. It just didn't happen like that.
Furthermore, for this decade, Steve Smith ranked 14th in receiving yards 16th in receptions, 19th in td receptions, and 14th in receiving yards per game. enough bullshit. take him out of the top 10!!
I made a formula that would rule out seasons a player wasn't in the league and seasons where the player didn't start, like rookie seasons or seasons where the individual starting fading out of the league. Without that formula, you'd see drops in Marvin Harrison, Andre Johnson, Ocho Cinco, Fitz, Anquan, Reggie, TJ, Rod Smith, and Isaac Bruce, as well as Steve Smith. The list would've been full of just guys who played all 10 years of the decade, excluding those who entered/exited mid decade.
Now if there was something calculated in there for how many double and triple teams a player faced, that list may be a little different. I agree with every player on that list and they're all great but there's only a couple (Fitzgerald and especially Moss) on that list that have changed the way defenses play.
Well just incase that's another shot at Steve Smith, he hasn't had a legit #2 threat beside him since Muhsin Muhammad in his prime, so he's been alone since about 2004. He's always double/triple covered. And I agree, but since this is completely stat based, I can't calculate somebody's raw talent and factor out different things ike who their QB, etc.
@andypantz7007 I think Steve Smith is awesome, I said that I believe every receiver on that list is great so it definitely not a shot at him, I'm not really sure how you got that from my response. It's just that he came into the league and performs really well but didn't change the way a defense had to play. You can take a chance putting single coverage on Smith and you can stop him. With Fitzgerald or Moss, you have no chance with single coverage, you signed your own death warrant doing that.
Alright haha. Just that everyone has been taking shots at Steve. And I completely agree. Although both Moss and Fitz had just mediocre 2009 seasons, you really can't single cover pre 2009 Moss or Fitz without getting burned.
Steve smith unlike fitz and moss has no help and barely has any help he produces and produced on a team that was run heavy and lacking a number 2 reciever or tight end. Fitz has always had boldin on the other side and moss has had cris carter a hall of famer, and in NE he has been supported by wes welker, Dante Stallworth. when he was in oakland alone he did absolutely barely anything. Smith is a one man show all by himself and has been for years doubles and triple teams at under six feet.
Wow. Steve Smith number three??? He's numbe 6 at best. Randy Moss is easily number one. Then Marvin Harrison, T.O and Torry Holt. There's no way Steve Smith had a better decade than Randy Moss.
@andypantz7007 No. He didn't have his first 1000 yard season until 2003 and his break out season was in the middle of the decade in 05. Then he did good but not great and didn't hit 1000 yards this year. Moss only had two seasons without 1000 yards and one of those were with the Raiders. Randy Moss and T.O. put up better numbers and were more consistant this decade.
I'm gonna calculate yards per starting game this decade just for you.
Steve Smith: 83.3 yards per starting game.
Randy Moss: 76.7 yards per starting game.
T.O: 82.6 yards per starting game.
You can't blame it on them having "off seasons" either. Steve had as many off seasons as they did, AND he had to play the entire decade with Jake "The Mistake" Delhomme. He also played half the decade as the #2 or #3 receiver on his team. Blame it on the stats, not me.
Marvin harrison is and has been more consistent than randy moss. Harrison also is a more all around reciever than moss. He gets more passes and has less drops then moss. Why shouldn't he be number one. FYI I am a Marvin Harrison Fan.
T.O has also been around 8 years longer than Fitz. And go look at his stats. For the first 8 years of this decade, T.O was a burner. He's slowing down now, but he used to be the best at WR.
Read the description. Seriously man. It's a formula. The only thing it doesn't take into consideration is the quarterback and the team around the guy, which can't be calculated anyways.
His yards per game was high, his TD per game was above average, and he led the league in TDs, yards, and catches all in one year, earning him max bonus.
@andypantz7007 Randy Moss should really be higher because he has like the most production with fewer catches. Steve Smith TD per game above average? other than his 2005 season his touchdowns don't even compare to the touchdowns Randy moss gets on a yearly bases in fact from 2000-2005 randy moss has more touchdowns than Steve smith has his whole career. Your point system is kinda bad Steve Smith's stats over the last decade is worse than Randy Moss in every category.
@andypantz7007 Steve Smith had the best stats in 2005 a year where the stats were not that impressive. Randy Moss's 2003 performance was better than Steve Smith's career best year in every category. 111rec 17TD 1632Yrds beats Smiths 2005 103 rec 12td and 1563 yrds
That was not even considered to be the best year randy moss has had. So your point system has some flaws in determining the best the best of the decade should just be accumulation of their stats. no ex pts.
Don't blame it on me. Blame it on Randy Moss' 2006 stats. 42 catches, 553 yards, 3 TDs. Two times this decade, Randy has failed to reach 1,000 yards. Another two times, Randy was within 10 yards of not making 1,000. In Steve's first year starting, he did 872 yards. He has only gone under 1,000 yards 2 other seasons, both seasons he finished on injured reserve. There's your reason.
@andypantz7007 with all due respect, you dun lost your damn mind if you think Steve Smith is as good as good a receiver as Randy Moss. You can't base it on 2 examples you just gave. Base it on this: Moss solidified himself as a hall of famer in his first 10 seasons, b/t 98-07. Smith has been in the league 9 years. I wouldnt say he's a hall of famer quite yet....if at all.
Everybody forgets moss was in oakland and absolutely produced nothing. Moss is one of the best but he doesn't make players better or QBs better. Like say smith has good stats without any true help or pro bowl QB. Moss has and can't produce in all situations. Ande Johnson has been exceptional without any help or Pro Bowl QB. That is what makes a monster.
Well, Johnson has had a pro bowl QB, but that's besides the point. The man's a beast. And I agree about everything else you said too. You know your football.
@trustee21206 Moss didnt make Daunte Culpepper better? Didnt make Matt Cassel better either? Bullcrap. But good point on Steve Smith having great stats w/o a great QB. But so does Holt, Bruce, TO, , Rod Smith, Mason, & Keyshawn. This Formula is a joke. Steve Smith will never make the hall of fame. Mason and Keyshawn wont make it either.
This list has nothing to do with who'll make the HOF and who wont. Only a select few will end up in that special place in Canton, Ohio. Doesn't mean they're horrible if they don't end up there.
@andypantz7007 based on stats? Moss has 120 td catches this decade(the most ever for a single decade). steve smith has 50. Moss has 777 catches for 11,739 yards this decade. smith has 574 catches for 8,330 yards. Moss has 76.2 yards per game compared to steve smith's 68.8.
how the hell can you put anquan boldin over reggie wayne

@smjertyjett I mean, to be honest, I agree. But based on the formula, Steve's consistency put him over TO and Moss. They both had a bad year or two, while Steve didn't have a bad (healthy) season until last year.

Pretty good. My top 5 would have to be:
1. Torry Holt
2. Andre Johnson
3. Randy Moss
4. Larry Fitzgerald
5. Steve Smith
Holt has to be one of the greatest recievers of all time. I would've liked to seen him play for a better team after the Rams started to become a bad team haha.
5.

As you are entitled to your opinion i have to disagree wit harrison being number 1, he was a great receiver but he isnt the best wr of the decade, the reason is simple: Payton Manning, manning makes every receiver seem better then they actually are, stockley, garcon, collie, he is the reason why colts have success, as for who i think is the number 1 receiver its also simple: Randy moss, why: daunte culpepper was his qb for have of this decade, what happened when he got tom brady, broke records.
govikings84 8 months ago
@govikings84 If that is how you're gonna view it, then Steve Smith should be #1. He has never had even an above average QB. But considering the list is stat based, none of that comes into play.
andypantz7007 8 months ago
@andypantz7007 This list is sooooo wrong! How do you put Marvin Harrison #1 and Randy Moss #5?!??! U must just be a Colts fan or a Marvin Harrison fan am i right?? Because Moss had more touchdowns and yards than Harrison from 2000-2009 and Harrison had Peyton Manning throwing him the pigskin!!! So how do you figure Harrison is #1??? Moss is #1 you moron. And btw the quality of this video is just horrendous it made my eyes hurt! make a new video and put Randy Moss #1
mpj32587 3 months ago
@mpj32587 You're ignorant as hell. Randy Moss had off seasons, and they counted against him. I hate the Colts, but Harrison was undoubtedly the best WR of 2000-2009. And if we factored in who was throwing to them, Steve Smith would be #1. He hasn't had a QB until this season.
BESIDES you idiot, read the description. It's based on a formula, not personal opinion.
Some people are so stupid...
andypantz7007 3 months ago
@andypantz7007 I love how you say Steve Smith never had a good QB. Have you never heard of Jake Delhomme?? yea he wasn't good at all he only took them to a Super Bowl in 2003! No receiver scared coaches and players like Randy Moss. even if he did have a bad year in Oakland so what?! Sure call me an idiot and stupid you lil bitch, ur formula doesn't mean jack shit! Moss was the best and moat feared of that era just get over yourself kid, Why do you think no one agrees with you? PUNCH YOURSELF!
mpj32587 3 months ago
@andypantz7007 Just look at the numbers from 2000-2009 Randy Moss had more receiving yards and more touchdowns than Harrison. Harrison does have more receptions but so what? Moss still had more numbers and didn't ahve a Hall of Famer throwing it to him. So, ur formula is totally flawed ur not factoring in everything that you should be. So now what?
mpj32587 3 months ago
@mpj32587 Tell me how you can statistically factor in who is the QB and I'll remake it. Oh wait… You can't. And if you could, Steve Smith would be #1 with Jake Delhomme, Jimmy Clausen, Matt Moore, Chris Weinke throwing to him. I would've taken Culpepper or Moss over ANY of those four guys. So don't cry about QB play, because clearly Steve would be on top.
andypantz7007 3 months ago

@amalienworkshop1 How high were you when you watched this?? It was based on a formula, and Moss sucked in Oakland, while T.O, although an idiot most of the time, was consistent.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
I only disagree about your top 4. In any order of your choice it should be Harrison, Holt, Moss and Owens.
Harrison set the record for most receptions in a season, Moss set the record for most TD in a season, Holt led the decade in receptions and yards, and Owens was the most consistent.
dramzv 1 year ago
@dramzv Eh, Steve Smith and Andre Johnson were the most consistent in my opinion, but they weren't in the league as long.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 Then youre obviously biased. Steve smith is one of the most inconsistent receivers ever.He s played 2 full years since he s been in the league, thats embarassing.Hes gotten over 10 tds once.Out of 9 years hes gotten over 1200 yards twice. Since 2000 moss has gotten over 10 tds 7 times. Since then moss has gotten over 1200 yards 6 times. He averaged at least 1 td per game 3 times just since 2000and was 1 td away from making it 4.Bad formula man.Moss is the definition of consistency
soma27 1 year ago
@soma27 Look at Randy's stats in Oakland. That is NOT consistency.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 He had about 500 yards in 4 games his first year til he got injured, he was having an insane season, with kerry collins. His second year he even admitted he quit which if it was just cuz they were losing id say is stupid but he even said he quit cuz the team made no effort to win or get better, which i dont blame him for that. Averaging almost 13 tds and about 1250 yards a season for 12 seasons is the definition of consistent
soma27 1 year ago
@soma27 Let's break down the stats here. These stats are taken from 2000-2010, and they don't include his rookie season where Steve Smith was the #4 receiver on the team and it also doesn't include seasons of under 10 starts (injuries).
Moss: 1,171 yards, 12 TD, 77 receptions per season.
Smith: 1,207 yards, 8 TD, 84 receptions per season.
And even if you do say his rookies season should be counted, remember that Steve was one of the top return men in the league back then.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 Yeah he doesnt quit he gets injured at flag football games with kids and breaks his arm. Moss quit on his team 1 year and rightfully so,it shows he cares more about winning then money,if your boss quits why shouldnt you? In 2004 moss was used as a decoy more than half the season did you consider that? He was injured and still played cuz he knew how much it helped his team. And you take injuries into consideration. Who wants a guy thats injured half his career? Theres a reson why
soma27 1 year ago
@soma27 Steve Smith caught the ball against the Giants at the 10 yard line, and STILL came through with the touchdown. He re-broke it playing flag football, not with kids dumbass. And true greats never quit. Smith is constantly injured, but he plays to be one of the best. It's tough to do with his QBs, but he'd never quit. If he had the same QBs as Moss throughout the years, Smith would lead Moss in the stats department, no doubt.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 haha, no smith wouldn't. you're obviously a fan of the team he plays for. HE WOULD NOT EVER have more stats than Moss. Let's be real man. I dont' care what you think, but you are wrong. Smith is good, but is he a TD machine like Moss. Not even in the discussion. Dude, I love smith, but let's be real. HE IS NO RANDY MOSS...AND FOR THAT MATTER OF FACT, NOBODY IS RANDY MOSS. There is only 1. He's the best we've ever seen.
lighterbuds 10 months ago
@andypantz7007 Moss is considered widely by every analyst, athlete, anyone the #2 receiver ever. Not still playing, ever. Because those ppl know how to consider the coverage moss draws. Smith, rice, andre johnson, none of them have ever put fear into a defense like randy moss, and alot of coordinators have said that. Lets look at the real stats moss avg yds per season career 1205..smith 925..tds per season moss 12.3....smith 5.5. Moss after first 9 years 10,700 yards...smith 8,330.
soma27 1 year ago
@soma27 You're counting the seasons where Smith played 1 game after breaking his leg, 1 game his Rookie season where his team went 1-15, and even with Steve's other injuries, he has better stats than Moss.
Moss: 1,171 yards, 12 TD, 77 receptions per season.
Smith: 1,207 yards, 8 TD, 84 receptions per season.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 dude, Smiths' career stats aren't even close to Moss's, dont' be an idiot. Nobody on earth truley believes he's better. First 6 seasons in the NFL, jerry rice got 79 td's, Moss got 77 td's. End of story. 2 best WR's ever. Fact
lighterbuds 10 months ago
@andypantz7007 Moss tds after first 9 seasons 101....smith 50. How can you even argue this? Those numbers include 3 injury plagued seasons and 2 being with the worst team in history. Yet still completely dominates smith. Oh and Moss started #3 on the depth chart his first game rookie year, he was the #1 withtin 3 games.Thats his fault he beat out a hof'er his rookie year? Its cuz hes the best. He never had a hof qb til brady which he then destroyed the league again. You have no argument.
soma27 1 year ago
@soma27 My argument is more legit than yours. Steve Smith has NEVER had a QB that was even above average. Smith has finished 3 or 4 seasons with injuries, he's been on some of the worst teams in NFL history (1-15 in 2001, 0-5 in 2010), he didn't even start as a WR until his 2nd season because he was drafted from a small school, Utah, as a returnman only. He went from a returnman to one of the best wide outs in recent history. You have to admit that you know Steve would do damage with good QBs.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@soma27 Also, I say a bad season while giving your best is a hell of a lot better than a bad season where you "quit". Steve Smith never quits, whether his team is 1-15 (2001) or 0-5 (2010).
andypantz7007 1 year ago

@soma27 Steve Smith had a crappy Rodney Peete, a crappier Chris Winke, an average Jake Delhomme, a horrible David Carr, a 44 year old Vinny Testaverde, an undrafted free agent in Matt Moore, and now mediocre rookie Jimmy Clausen.
Randy Moss spent MOST of his years with a future Hall Of Famer. So don't even try to pull the QB card on us.

He gets 1 hof qb and connects with him for 40 tds in 2 seasons. The rest of his qbs were garbage he made his qbs anyone with a football iq over 5 knows that
soma27 1 year ago
@soma27 He played with Brady for over 3 seasons, and broke records with Brady. He had Culpepper in his prime, who, despite what you say, was actually a good QB. Guss Ferrote was good enough. Kerry Collins used to be a top 15 QB. Take Moss' list and compare it to Steve's. Steve had Jake Delhomme, Chris Winke, Rodney Peete, David Carr, Vinny Testaverde, Matt Moore, Josh McCown, and Jimmy Clausen. It's obvious that Moss' QBs have the edge. Anyone with a football IQ over 5 knows that.

andypantz7007 1 year ago
One of the few lists about the NFL on Youtube I can agree with. Issac Bruce had his best years in the late 90s which is why he's only 15th. Harrison deserves #1 since everyone knew the ball was going to him yet they couldn't stop him anyway. I'm also glad you didn't put players like Fitzgerald or Johnson too high considering they haven't had a full decade of work yet.
eodap 1 year ago
dats bs how dey put gay ass t.o over moss
krillinfromdbz 1 year ago
this is based soley on stats, but you have to remember most of these players were on pass-first teams, but look at the panthers steve smith, he's consistently a top 10 receiver yet his team throws it the least, that means he is relied on the most and receives the most attention in the passing game, holt and bruce made each other, same with harrison and wayne, and fitzgerald and boldin, so in my mind 89 tops other receivers, he has a disadvantage at size yet plays like he's 6'4 215 lbs
opperry95 1 year ago

andypantz7007 1 year ago
acording to your fomula that is true but it cant be like that because some of the best guys dont look pretty in the stats collum ie wes welker but he is a staple in that patriots offense also tj may have been a bit higher up if he had a really good qb throwing to him. look what happened when moss went to new england. IF brady had the younger moss he could have thrown like 60 td passes in a season
melosher 1 year ago
I actually think I would put them in the same order. However I would switch Rod Smith with Hines Ward. But the formula you created was phenomenal. People need to understand that this is just for the decade. I mean, there was the 07-08 season (I think, I'm horrible with time) and Randy Moss was the best, but his time with the Raiders really lowered his average.
freshprinceofindy4 1 year ago
Thank you for understanding.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
hard to really argue with the formula you have put a lot of work in to it very well done only thing i will say harrsion being number while he was outstanding having wayne opposite helped him a lot guys like andre johnson would i dare say have seen a lot more double coverage because of a lack of a consistent wideout on the other side holts numbers have been inflated because of the offense scheme he played in i think hines ward should be on this list also other than that great job
willandshaylin2008 1 year ago
Then you look at a guy like Steve Smith. He hasn't had a legitimate #2 threat beside him since Muhsin Muhammad was younger. PLUS the Panthers run a scheme where the rushing game presides over the passing game.

Das right. Marvin's the man
jon4143 1 year ago
You know... round about 3-4 or so years ago, I used to tell everybody that Marvin Harrison and Torry Holt were the two best receivers in the league. The vociferous bastards like Randy Moss and Terrel Owens seemed to command all the attention back in those days. However, when you looked strictly at the productivity numbers, it was clear-cut that Holt and Harrison were the guys.
Shocking that Issac Bruce only comes in #15.

But Keyshawn and Muhs both dropped off mid/late in the decade, while Driver has started throughout the decade. if it were really that biased, Muhsin would've been higher than 19th.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 i still remember that season where muhs caught 16 tds(2004). Him and John Kasay should be the 1st Panthers in the ring of honor. Keyshawn played thru 2006 like Rod Smith. They have comparable stats and played relatively the same number of years. Smith came in the league undrafted on the practice squad in 94 and KJ was the #1 pick overall in 96. Both finished in 06(though RS was on IR in 07)
Campbell7204 1 year ago
Rod Smith is one of the best of the best, while Keyshawn was good, but won't be considered among the best. Honestly, I expected Hines Ward, KJ, and Muhs to make this list. It just didn't happen like that.

The list would've been full of just guys who played all 10 years of the decade, excluding those who entered/exited mid decade.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
Now if there was something calculated in there for how many double and triple teams a player faced, that list may be a little different. I agree with every player on that list and they're all great but there's only a couple (Fitzgerald and especially Moss) on that list that have changed the way defenses play.
PatriotsExclusive 1 year ago
Well just incase that's another shot at Steve Smith, he hasn't had a legit #2 threat beside him since Muhsin Muhammad in his prime, so he's been alone since about 2004. He's always double/triple covered. And I agree, but since this is completely stat based, I can't calculate somebody's raw talent and factor out different things ike who their QB, etc.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 I think Steve Smith is awesome, I said that I believe every receiver on that list is great so it definitely not a shot at him, I'm not really sure how you got that from my response. It's just that he came into the league and performs really well but didn't change the way a defense had to play. You can take a chance putting single coverage on Smith and you can stop him. With Fitzgerald or Moss, you have no chance with single coverage, you signed your own death warrant doing that.
PatriotsExclusive 1 year ago
Alright haha. Just that everyone has been taking shots at Steve. And I completely agree. Although both Moss and Fitz had just mediocre 2009 seasons, you really can't single cover pre 2009 Moss or Fitz without getting burned.
andypantz7007 1 year ago

There's no way Steve Smith had a better decade than Randy Moss.
jBigGame81 1 year ago
Based on the stats, that's how it played out. Guy like Randy Moss and TO had some off years, while Steve was consistent throughout the decade.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 No. He didn't have his first 1000 yard season until 2003 and his break out season was in the middle of the decade in 05. Then he did good but not great and didn't hit 1000 yards this year. Moss only had two seasons without 1000 yards and one of those were with the Raiders. Randy Moss and T.O. put up better numbers and were more consistant this decade.
jBigGame81 1 year ago
I'm gonna calculate yards per starting game this decade just for you.
Steve Smith: 83.3 yards per starting game.
Randy Moss: 76.7 yards per starting game.
T.O: 82.6 yards per starting game.
You can't blame it on them having "off seasons" either. Steve had as many off seasons as they did, AND he had to play the entire decade with Jake "The Mistake" Delhomme. He also played half the decade as the #2 or #3 receiver on his team. Blame it on the stats, not me.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 Randy Moss and T.O are lock Hall of Famers, and steve smith might go.
jBigGame81 1 year ago
I agree 100%. But then again, they've been in the lague 3-4+ years than Steve. Give Steve a few more seasons, and he'll join them.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
Marvin harrison is and has been more consistent than randy moss. Harrison also is a more all around reciever than moss. He gets more passes and has less drops then moss. Why shouldn't he be number one. FYI I am a Marvin Harrison Fan.

when did t.o become better than randy moss and how is he better than fitzgerald. t.o drops more balls than fitzgerald
Amped4Christ 1 year ago
T.O has also been around 8 years longer than Fitz. And go look at his stats. For the first 8 years of this decade, T.O was a burner. He's slowing down now, but he used to be the best at WR.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 Randy Moss has had more Touchdowns than T.O and he was voted already to the all decade first team ahead of T.O.
missionbears 1 year ago
Read the description. Seriously man. It's a formula. The only thing it doesn't take into consideration is the quarterback and the team around the guy, which can't be calculated anyways.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 how did steve smith score so many points????
missionbears 1 year ago
His yards per game was high, his TD per game was above average, and he led the league in TDs, yards, and catches all in one year, earning him max bonus.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 Randy Moss should really be higher because he has like the most production with fewer catches. Steve Smith TD per game above average? other than his 2005 season his touchdowns don't even compare to the touchdowns Randy moss gets on a yearly bases in fact from 2000-2005 randy moss has more touchdowns than Steve smith has his whole career. Your point system is kinda bad Steve Smith's stats over the last decade is worse than Randy Moss in every category.
missionbears 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 Steve Smith had the best stats in 2005 a year where the stats were not that impressive. Randy Moss's 2003 performance was better than Steve Smith's career best year in every category. 111rec 17TD 1632Yrds beats Smiths 2005 103 rec 12td and 1563 yrds
That was not even considered to be the best year randy moss has had. So your point system has some flaws in determining the best the best of the decade should just be accumulation of their stats. no ex pts.
missionbears 1 year ago
Don't blame it on me. Blame it on Randy Moss' 2006 stats. 42 catches, 553 yards, 3 TDs. Two times this decade, Randy has failed to reach 1,000 yards. Another two times, Randy was within 10 yards of not making 1,000. In Steve's first year starting, he did 872 yards. He has only gone under 1,000 yards 2 other seasons, both seasons he finished on injured reserve. There's your reason.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 with all due respect, you dun lost your damn mind if you think Steve Smith is as good as good a receiver as Randy Moss. You can't base it on 2 examples you just gave. Base it on this: Moss solidified himself as a hall of famer in his first 10 seasons, b/t 98-07. Smith has been in the league 9 years. I wouldnt say he's a hall of famer quite yet....if at all.
Campbell7204 1 year ago
This was completely stat based. If it was based on opinion, Steve would've been no higher than 5th, if that.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
Everybody forgets moss was in oakland and absolutely produced nothing. Moss is one of the best but he doesn't make players better or QBs better. Like say smith has good stats without any true help or pro bowl QB. Moss has and can't produce in all situations. Ande Johnson has been exceptional without any help or Pro Bowl QB. That is what makes a monster.
trustee21206 1 year ago
Well, Johnson has had a pro bowl QB, but that's besides the point. The man's a beast. And I agree about everything else you said too. You know your football.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@trustee21206 Moss didnt make Daunte Culpepper better? Didnt make Matt Cassel better either? Bullcrap. But good point on Steve Smith having great stats w/o a great QB. But so does Holt, Bruce, TO, , Rod Smith, Mason, & Keyshawn. This Formula is a joke. Steve Smith will never make the hall of fame. Mason and Keyshawn wont make it either.
Campbell7204 1 year ago
This list has nothing to do with who'll make the HOF and who wont. Only a select few will end up in that special place in Canton, Ohio. Doesn't mean they're horrible if they don't end up there.
andypantz7007 1 year ago
@andypantz7007 based on stats? Moss has 120 td catches this decade(the most ever for a single decade). steve smith has 50. Moss has 777 catches for 11,739 yards this decade. smith has 574 catches for 8,330 yards. Moss has 76.2 yards per game compared to steve smith's 68.8.
Campbell7204 1 year ago
@Amped4Christ Larry Fitzgerald is really overrated in my opinion. Andre Johnson has always
