@samplerii first of all, don't put down a sport when you have no idea about it or what youre talking about. It is the fastest game on two feet and probably the toughest. You can check as hard as you want to whoever you want. It's physically demanding too. I live on long island, NY, and this is our sport. everyobody plays it because it originated here. The reason im so defensive is because i play it and its the best sport in the world. do some research before you run your moth.

no. u dont have to. u have to have a special kind of glove with extra thumb padding though. Also a chin protector and bigger shoulder pads. u usually dont wear elbow pads when your a goalie so u can move quicker which is really important

As per NCAA and NFHS rules, gloves do not define a "properly defnied goalie."

To a referee there is only 1 type of glove. So no, you don't have to have a special goalie glove. You may end up with a broken thumb, but its all up to you.

i got a bunch of used stuff when i started so its not as expensive sticks can be 20 dollars for an allringht stick. If you really like the sport and want to play for a while you can go to a local lacrosse retailer an they can custom make one for you . you can choose the shaft head and mesh. LAX IS GREAT

uhm..dude. gloves can be anywhere from 30-200. not all of em are 100. and helmets are from 100-250.even more if you want it with a Ti facemask. as for shoulder pads, anywhere from 25-140. btw don't call it body armor.

and as for a stick. your first year stick shouldn't cost you more than $70 you don't need a fancy stick for your first year. my first year i had a $30 stick.

I prefer box lacrosse over field lacrosse any day. enclosed field, actual cross-checking allowed, and overall is way rougher. Field does have its pros, though: larger space to move around, don't have to wear gear, and you're on for a longer period of time.

But with both, you always get a team that has no respect for others. They trash talk on the floor, cheap-shot opponents, intend on injuring others, etc.
