Fantastic teaching. I am in awe of your figure 8 in the hips. And yes, like others, I thought your cat's cameo was very cute. I am just ready to try chest hooping, so I'll be trying to apply your instruction.
Oh my goodness, you made this look SO EASY. Now, I'm off to go practice for hours and hours until it actually feels easy, thanks so much for sharing :)
Does it matter what size the hoop is? Your hoop looks much larger than mine. Oh, and what about weight of the hoop? I can do everything besides the shoulder hooping... I can only do it three times in a row :(
this is an awesome tutorial, you explained it so well. but your cat's entrance made me crack up audibly :P how she just plopped herself right on camera, and then hopped off screen
as soon as I can I'm going to buy tubing to make myself (and maybeone for friend), I bought my daughter one, a childs one, and can't do it! But she's getting it. Maybe it is something we can do together.
oooooh i'm gonna try this right now! when i shoulder hoop i get BIG bruises on my left arm and i han feel the hoop really hitting it, i don't think i'm doing the push forward on that shoulder. this was great thank you!! =D
Oh my goodness! I think I get it now! Your explanation of one shoulder pushing forward while the other pushes back is what I was missing from my mental idea of how to do shoulder hooping. Im sure I will struggle a bit more with this but FINALLY I think I get it =) Thank you thank you! ^_^
this is probably the most helpful tutorial I've seen on shoulder hooping. thank you very much... I've watched Caroleeena and Safire's explanations but you really explained the movement well with the backwards/fowards shoulder movement tip... i think that is definately the key to getting this move. one thing you left out though is to tell people that they need a larger hoop when first attempting this move, other than that ... perfect tutorial
Thanks so much for the details explanation. I have given up with this move and finally got it. Thanks for the dance movements with the isolated shoulders. It reminds me of Afro Haitian dance isolation's. Cool stuff.
You explained this beautifully! This is one move I was having huge issues with and I think I finally understand it. Can't wait to try it again. Thank you!!
Wow, I was really hurting myself attempting to do with without instruction so I gave up. Your instructions are exceptional. I'll try this tomorrow when I practice. Thanks so much.
You articulate like a robot - very clear and helpful, thank you! Please keep this video up for a long time...I'm a beginner, and I need time to work my way up to this point ;)
Also, thank you for not being an anorexic skinny-mini...you have gorgeous curves. Some of us newbies are intimidated by the wiry slimness of the major instructors, as good as they are.
Great hooping! How did you learn? How long did it take you to learn? What size hoop do you use? Dimensions. I have a 3/4 inch width and 40" diameter. I can't seem to do this trick - it keeps falling down. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
It is so so awesome that you put up these tutorial vids. I had this tech in only minutes. When you have time I would really like to see angle chest hooping with weaving arms in and out. You are the greatest!
Thank you, this makes it so much easier. I've been trying to learn this one for awhile, and first off, just watching it, and not hooping, it makes so much more sense than what I was trying before.
Your instructions are the best I have seen yet! This one was so conscise. Have you considered a leg tutorial? I just can't seem to do any hoop work below my upper thighs...help!
yay! natasha, you rock! as a bellydancer just now taking up hooping, this video is so helpful, especially with the explanation in bdance terminology. :) and i looove your kitty...mine does the same thing (and by same thing i mean wander into the frame of video/photo shoots and collapse)
Great instruction. Just got my first hoop at wannee. 50 year old guy but having a blast with it. What great excercise and flexibility training. Thanks for posting the video!
excellent video and instruction!!!! what a valuable contribution to the hoop community. natasha, i have added this video to my squidoo dot com/hoola-hoop-videos/ and will add any video you make in this vein.
