yea my dad did told me that when they were in the war they had to throw grenades when hiding, if they use there rifle, the Vietnamese soldiers would have shoot them back or they would throw back grenades at them.

Yes, at night when unable to see, it was very unwise to shoot because the gun flash would give away your location. Throwing grenades was the best way to kill the enemy and remain undetected. The enemy would have no idea from which direction or distance the grenade came from.

A machine gunner at night also attracted much attention and would receive a lot of fire.

Many were donated from other hmong in the community, but the ones I got myself were available at the NARA (Nation Archives) in Washington, DC.

u can hire someone to find the clips for you and send whats called a screener copy. Or you could pay them to make professional duplicaitons. Since you said this is just a school project, a screener should be more than good enough.

The unofficial response that I recieved in many interviews with top officials at the time is, "The only promise we made was to supply them weapons." The implied meaning of which is, "We accept no responsability". Many believe just bringing many Hmong to America was payment enough. An offering because we couldnt get their country back. I think they need to make Hmong Recognition Day an official Natl Holiday for sure!!

look what a people fought for! For future hmong people live in freedom and have great lives. everyone that went to school paid their respect for the dead hmong people that died in the war. don't get me wrong some people got stuck in the hood and couldn't move out of that life style. Some kis parents smoked drugs from thialand and had no support from their parents. next time you have a chance to better yourself or some other hmong person do so, and remember what our people died for.
