Much of the persecutions in the world are based upon bad translations of Hebrew scriptures. "Suffer not a witch to live" does not mean to literally "kill witches" but rather not to give them a living from fees for nonsense like contacting the dead and casting spells. Christianity in the past and Islam uptil the present enjoy murder and violence as a spectator sport, it would seem from the historical record. In countries such as Central and South America, and all across Europe and Southeast Asia most of the populous are made of catholics. It is constantly growing at a more rapid rate than atheism. If you refuse to believe that then that's you're problem either way i'm not going to spend valuable time arguing.

NOTHING about atheism says anything about killing. The only guaranteed tie to atheism is the lack of belief in God/gods.
