Thanks my friend for the compliment! Wow....coming back to this video (one of the first ones I did) after so many months i can only remember one thing.....all the freakin hours I spent moving that freakin feather around! LOL! So glad you enjoyed the effort! Thanks for commenting!
Yeah, this is one of those songs that I always thought slipped through the cracks and don't see how it could have failed to be a big hit if it had received enough airplay when it was released.
I used to play it frequently in the record store I worked at when the album was released...you could easily sell out of the LP's and cassettes, if you didn't get any hits after the first time you played this song, just play it a second time and watch 'em come up and ask "uh...what's that song?"
@MetalGuruMessiah Yeah I used to take this cassette to parties, put on Million Miles Away, and people would come up to me in multitudes wanting to know who it was, then I'd play Oldest Story and it was always "WHOA". Made alot of new Plimsouls fans that way.
@MetalGuruMessiah: Thank you for the fast response. What program were you using? I'm very curious. BTW....It appears that you an I have very similar musical tastes.
Thanks my friend for the compliment....glad you liked the effort! Keyframing the feather all the way through the video took most of the time on this one. Thanks again!
The PlimSouls were One of the Gateway bands to the "NEW WAVE" Flash in the early to mid '80's Their music is timeless. The help of the movie " Valley Girl", in wich starred Nicholos Cage ( real name Nicholos Cappola) Vaulted the Plimsouls into the main stream where I found them.
I worked in a record store from 81-83 and the manager was a big fan of their first record. I remember when the second one arrived in the store and we first listened to it. We'd take turns cranking our favorite tracks (I frequently played "Oldest Story In The World"...and one of the other employees would play "Million Miles Away") so loud at closing time that the little lady next door at the sew shop would come over and complain...but no one could ever hear her! LOL! Good times!
Glad you found the band! They were great back in the day....you really should have been there! Of course being born in the 80's wouldn't have worked either.....that would mean that you would be cutting your rock and roll teeth on mid-90's music....you needed to be born in the 60's.....of course that would make you....old?...like those of us who were! LOL! Just kidding of course, everything's relative. The thing is that you found it...and that you could appreciate it. Thanks!
Of course my man,its really a music for a back sit of a car if u know what i mean,no todays shit bieber....i just wonder, can u help me out with the chords for this song,i cant find them anywhere on the net???
Wow,flood of memories here,...awesome band, way underrated in my opinion...can't find music like this anymore;heartfelt,..deep......real. Many thanks for posting
Agree it is very difficult to music this great anymore. The band had great reviews during the day but never reached the popularity levels of similar bands. A great songwriter in Peter Case, no doubt....lots of great solo stuff since The Plimsouls broke up. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I bought this album right around the time I got dumped by my girlfriend. 1983. Whenever I hear this song, I can't help but think of that awful time. Despite that, I love it, it's a great song and a fantastic album.
There are so many songs from the past that, whenever I hear them, take me completely and vividly back to a very specific time or moment in my life...the happier times are best, but like you say, I love any that have the ability to do so. Thank you for the comment!
Superbly created video for an awesome song, already a subscriber to your channel also....kudos for you

What a rare GEM! I've always loved this song, didn't get the airplay it deserves. They certainly don't write them like this anymore.
